So I had my first appointment with my OB last week and she caught me totally off guard. She wants to do a RCS, but at 36w. She said I am definitely high risk for preterm labor due to my uterus (bicornuate) and she doesn't think I will make it past 36w. To avoid me going into labor on my own, she wants to take him then. I am really nervous about this, DD came at 36w and had a 2w NICU stay. I really don't want to go through that again. I started progesterone, which is thought to help with preventing preterm labor (have to take until 32w). I have an U/S at 32W so we are going to discuss more then. Looks like I will be having a March baby either way!
@Kathryn0903 thank you, that is encouraging. She had some birth trauma and low Apgar score so I am hoping a scheduled RCS would eliminate some of the challenges we had with her. I was stuck at an 8/9 with her for 12+ hours before they finally did a CS and she was chin up wedged in there.
@doraleigh35 DD and DS were full term and both had NICU stays. DD was only 2 days, and well, DS was a whole other story. And my friends daughter was 35wks, and no NICU time so... don't worry too much on timing just focus on all the good things.
20wk US today. I'm anxious bc I haven't felt a lot of movement. Again, I know it's early. But with DS he didn't move much so it makes me nervous. DD moved like a hurricane when she wasnt sitting on my lungs.
TW: 1 infant loss 8/17: Our daughter was born 8/18: Our daughter kicked open heart surgery ass 2/19: We lost our son to Prader-Willi/Paradoxical Vocal Cord/ Noonans at 6wks old 4/26/2020: EDD for baby #3!!!
Thanks @smallbutmighty77, I am mentally preparing for a NICU stay so I am not caught off guard, but really hoping it doesn't happen. DD also moved more than both boys in the beginning!
