Bleeding after sex when pregnant

Hi All,

I’m 11w6d pregnant with my first baby. My husband and I had sex for the first time in like 2 months last night, it happened around 1am. I was fine all night but I woke up this morning to some red/dark red bleeding. It lasted for about 15 minutes and has now stopped.

I know bleeding after sex during pregnancy is fairly normal but does it happen HOURS later? And then for it to be some dark red blood but then stop soon after it starts? 

I don’t have any cramps but my stomach feels “off.” To be fair I’ve been feeling that way since before I had sex. Could be nerves about the holidays, I dunno.

Anyone experience this?? Any advice?

You should call your medical provider and ask them. It could be nothing, or it could be something. 

A general rule of thumb is if it's dark/brown, it's probably not a concern, and if it's just spotting and not enough to fill a pad, it's probably not a concern. But I would call because it sounds like it's not quite either of those things.

I know when me and my husband don’t have 𝐒𝐞𝐱 for awhile I bleed 99% of the time. So when we had 𝐒𝐞𝐱 the first time after I found out I was pregnant and I bleed I started to cry. Then he had to remind me that I always bleed just because it had been awhile. Just for a peace of mind maybe contact your medical provider!
