I hope it's ok to start this thread. I know there are a few of us in here from TTGP.  Not sure if we will want this weekly or monthly. 

This is a check-in for people who were active on TTGP before getting the BFP. We welcome all TTGPers in other BMBs as well.

What's going on this week? yesterday was my final RE appt. So bittersweet. But mostly sweet

How far along are you? 9+5

Upcoming appointments? 12/3 first OB appt!

Cravings/Symptoms? I'm so freaking exhausted, and boobs are almost always sore. I haven't had any major cravings yet, but if I don't eat every few hours I start to feel sick. 

Rants/Raves/Randoms? I am just so unbelievably happy and relieved after yesterday's RE appt. I officially graduated and surpassed my loss milestones. And I finally told my son he is going to be a big brother! I hadn't told him about any of my previous pregnancies/losses or all this time I've been trying. And he was so excited. He told me he needed a minute alone, ran to his room, shut the door and shouted "This is amazing!" ❤️

@hanshotfirst77 I am so happy that your appointment went well!! Congratulations on graduating from the re!! I love that ys is so excited!! That is the cutest reaction! So much happiness all around!

What's going on this week? I had my first Ob appointment on Monday. That kid would not stop bouncing during the ultrasound, so I’m starting to think that this one might be a handful. Next week we’ll be sharing our news with Mh’s family. I know one of his sisters is struggling with PCOS, so I’m hoping that we can tell people in an ok way that celebrates the news a little, but doesn’t rub it in. Though, to be clear, this baby took us about a year and a half to conceive, so hopefully it won’t sting as much to hear? Uh, I’m just so nervous to cause any pain, but not sharing the news seems like a mean move too. Suggestions?

How far along are you? 12 weeks tomorrow 

Upcoming appointments? Not until 12/19

Cravings/Symptoms? Starting to get some energy back, but still wanting to sit a lot. I also sleep terribly. I may just punch anyone that pulls the “catch up on sleep while you can” bs. 

Rants/Raves/Randoms? I miss participating in ttgp. I still feel like that’s where I belong. Maybe part of it is the paif brain that keeps me terrified of things not working out since it can’t be as easy as a switch flick from IF to happy ending, can it? 

Questions? Advice on sharing the news to family who is facing troubles? I’m thinking maybe a group setting is better so that there is less focus on their specific reaction and they don’t have to say as much?

@begging4abump when I was pregnant with DS, we suspected that an SIL and BIL were struggling to get pregnant (and had already been through 2 other pregnancies in the family that year) so instead of announcing at a family get together, we texted each sibling separately to tell them. To that SIL, we said something to the effect of that it’s none of our business if you’re trying or not, but we wanted to be sensitive to everyone and do it this way so you didn’t have to go through another public announcement. It took a few days, but she texted me later and said how much she appreciated that we did it in private so she didn’t have to take another reaction. I am not sure what we will do this time, but I’m not really ready to share at thanksgiving. 

All that said, I absolutely hate being the center of attention, so I didn’t mind at all doing it that way, and DS did not take long to conceive so we were announcing shortly after we got married - which puts us in a different situation. I think the fact that you’re even considering their feelings is much more than most people do, and I’m sure she will be excited no matter how you announce, even if she might not show it right away.

First of all I am just so happy to see you guys in this thread. I was worried no one else wanted it. 

@begging4abump I feel you so much on missing TTGP. I still lurk daily. I don’t think IF or loss ever really leaves you. I’ve been almost waiting for the other shoe to drop this whole time but thankfully it hasn’t. I’m hoping maybe 2nd tri it will get easier. Good luck with your announcement. I hope it goes over well. I’ve only ever really been on the other side of it. And I know the fact you are so mindful of their feelings is a really good thing. I’ve always appreciated others thinking of that with me.  I’m also planning on announcing to family at Thanksgiving.

@chaos-and-coffee thanks for sharing that! I will float that possibility by my husband. He’s got ultimate say for his side, and he knows his family best, so I’ll defer to his judgment. The awkward part is that I only know that she has PCOS because her parents told us. But I like the idea of saying that we don’t know what their current situation is and maybe I could even share that we struggled to get here so we’re more aware of the possibilities that others could too. And I hear you on not feeling ready to announce. I just don’t want to be outed and have the opportunity to announce be thwarted by a nosy aunt’s moment of glory. I ended up announcing to my side last weekend because I KNEW my aunt was all geared up to do it for me if I wasn’t  drinking. SIL outed me with dd by getting us to agree to get cheese together and then it was ALL UNPASTEURIZED. 

@hanshotfirst77 I’m not sure that there are too many of us, but I’m definitely interested in keeping tabs on you and I would love to find any ttgp lurkers, so thanks for getting this started. How are you feeling about making your announcement?? I think it’s definitely going to make things feel more real, but I totally relate to the waiting for the shoe to drop feeling which makes this all so nerve wracking!

I was only on TTGP for a short time but if you guys will have me i would love to be a part of this thread! It was so incredibly helpful while TTC.

@chaos-and-coffee I think this thread doesn’t have any of the 3 month rules as the grad thread. I’ve seen other bmbs that allowed anyone from TTGP. So I say your more than welcome to join in!

@begging4abump yeah it’s kind of an odd feeling. I’m so excited to announce. It feels like I’ve waited forever to get here. But also a little nervous. My situation isn’t typical. And I know some family members might not have the reaction I’m hoping for. But right now I just feel like I want them to know. I hear you on it making it feel more real. After telling my son it started to feel very real.

I wasnt on TTGP right before I got pregnant, but I was on it for much of the year we were trying after my loss. 

TW my sister got pregnant as I was miscarrying.  She waited a little bit to tell me and when she did, she texted me.  Unfortunately, I was out and cried in public, but I was grateful I didnt cry in front of my sister.  I am so happy she didnt tell me in person.
