1st Trimester

Yeast infection

Hi all. I am 7 weeks pregnant with a very annoying yeast infection. Tried probiotics and yogurt but didnt help. What is safe to take? Terazol? Should i try to tough it out until at least the first trimester is over? I dont want to harm the baby but i am very uncomfortable.

Re: Yeast infection

  • Because you haven't mentioned it: have you asked your doctor?

Ask your doctor! I had many yeast infections when pregnant.  My doctor always prescribed a 7 day internal prescription.  He said it was best- at that time.  This is a question for you to call at least the nurses line and ask.  They may want you to come in and be tested for what strain it is, as you can make yeast infections worse by using the wrong med (per my general practictioner).
  • Your doctor can call in a prescription. I had one not long ago and go two doses, one to clear the yeast up and a second to repeat the following week if needed. Monistat is also safe by my doctor but not the one day dose. Ask for something, no reason to be miserable!

@casey301 No it was Diflucan. I’m much further along than you so I’m not sure if it is safe for first tri or not. Hope you feel better!
