Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: finding out hopefully in about 2-3 weeks!

Baby is the size of a(n): almost a kumquat

Upcoming appointments: 11/20 - not sure if it’s just a regular ob visit or if they will do the NIPT then.. really hope so!

How are you feeling? Tired but generally still good, I don’t seem to get morning sickness in my pregnancies at least and have lucked out with no headaches - my first I had terrible headaches!

Raves/Rants:  so tired, work has been sooo busy, need a vacation.  Miss a good cocktail!

Questions: anyone else announcing to family on thanksgiving?

GTKY: What is the farthest you've been from home?   Live in nyc, farthest is probably Melbourne australia
  • EDD: 6/11

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Finding out, can't wait!

Baby is the size of a(n): Southern pecan

Upcoming appointments: Second US Nov 26. If all goes well, we'll tell our friends at our thanksgiving dinner.

How are you feeling? Mostly ok.

Raves/Rants: I just posted this in the symptoms thread, but I'm so incredibly irritable. I'm starting to hate myself a little. lol

    Questions: Nope

GTKY: What is the farthest you've been from home? Hmm. My husband is from India, so I've been to India a handful of times. That's probably the farthest geographically.
  • @mariabele I'm also so irritable. My poor students

    EDD: June 12th so 9+6

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: We'll find out

Baby is the size of a(n): I don't even know? I think I read a penny sometime in the last few days?

Upcoming appointments: Next Thursday for 11 week check-up (appointments every 2-3 weeks for high risk)

How are you feeling? Ugh. Sometimes I'm normal and I'm sometimes I can't even eat. I just want to eat food and have it taste good without feeling bad afterwards. I can sometimes get things down but then I regret it. Pills are consistently the hardest-retched three times trying to get my b6 down this morning. Almost to that second trimester promised land.

Raves/Rants: I've been hiding from some of my friends lately so as not to tell them too early. I feel bad that they think I'm ghosting them but with the nausea I just really can't hide it. I'm hoping all will be forgiven when they know. I didn't have bad morning sickness with my first so this is new.

    Questions:
@maryanne2019 We will probably tell some of the extended family then. Mostly the ones we're close to. I'm sure my mother will take care of any of the others after that once I give her permission.

GTKY: What is the farthest you've been from home? Geographically I'm not sure? we got awesome cheap tickets one year to Paris/London which is pretty cool since we live in small town midwest. My family used to take crazy road trips growing up though, those felt farther because we'd drive up to 24 hours away from home. We did Glacier National Park and parts of Canada. We drove to San Fransisco and Yosemite one year. We did Texas several times and the East Coast a few times too. I loved road trips growing up by I admire my parents even more for doing it with little kids now that I'm a parent too.

ultrasound on Tuesday. In Canada or at least the part I am from, we only get two. One between 9-14 weeks and the anatomy scan later on.

How are you feeling?  On and off nauseas but mostly controlled. I started on the diclectin at 5 weeks and so far have not thrown up. But feel waves of sick with smells and even thoughts of potential smells.

Raves/Rants:  not really a rant or a rave but going to set up my Christmas tree today. Now that remembrance day and thanksgiving are over free game over here. I also am doing it so we can take a pic for our Christmas card and I can get them mailed out early December.

    Questions:  none!

GTKY: What is the farthest you've been from home?  Italy (Florence Venice and Rome 🤗 )

How are you feeling? Honestly, better than I expected. Starting to get my energy back and no nausea so far.

Raves/Rants: I miss coffee and am craving only the things I can't eat.

Questions: Is it common to be 10 weeks and have no symptoms, or should I be worried?

GTKY: What is the farthest you've been from home? I live in FL so the farthest I've been is probably NY.
  • EDD: Officially set to June 12 as of my last ultrasound, 10 weeks today!

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Team finding out - within the next 2 weeks  :)

How are you feeling? Pretty good! Waking up less to pee in the middle of the night which is great. Nausea comes and goes but is overall manageable.

Raves/Rants: So looking forward to some time off around Thanksgiving, but I have so much work to do before then and it's making me anxious. Oh, and rave! A Pea in the Pod is going out of business near me and I got a ton of maternity clothes for super cheap!

How are you feeling?: exhausted, lots of heartburn and can’t breathe through my nose

  • EDD: 6/9 so far but DH’s birthday is 6/7 and I’d love that

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: finding out

Baby is the size of a(n): tea light I think

Upcoming appointments:  1st US on 9/22 and it’s ALL I THINK ABOUT

How are you feeling? well, I have some nasty cold resembling strep (negative test), I’ve been nauseous and throwing up often, and DH and I are on a road trip far from home ....   so it’s been better

Raves/Rants:  My husband has been active duty military and gone since mid September but I’m with him now and so excited about that 🙏🙏
Oh and the first time I threw up was in the back of my in-laws car - totally snuck up on me and it was a MESSSS

GTKY: What is the farthest you've been from home? DH and I live on the road pretty often, we lived in India for a while first half of this year, in our exact opposite time zone so that must be farthest 🤷‍♀️ But we have been to most continents and have about a road trip a month. FX that baby is a good traveler.
  • EDD: June 9th!  11 weeks today.

Team finding out!! ...We decided to pass on the testing so waiting until 19 weeks to find out..eek

Baby is the size of a lime today!

Had an appointment today and we thought we were going to have an ultrasound...but no. They just order an ultrasound today... for the middle of JANUARY. Has anyone else had to wait the whole 20 weeks too see baby...? She also did a pap and I’ve been cramping from it all day. :(

On a happy note we did get to use the Doppler and hear the heart beat for the first time! It was at 170!

Next appt is December 16th just for a check up!

    EDD: Between June 12-15

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Finding Out! Hopefully in the next week or so during the Genetic Testing

Baby is the size of a(n): Strawberry

Upcoming appointments: Nov 21 (tomorrow) - Routine appointment (Blood work for genetic testing). 12 week ultrasound on December 4.

How are you feeling? A lot of different things! Physically, I'm doing better, but so tired. I can't shake it! I usually eat really healthy and I have a hard time stomaching healthy foods.

Raves/Rants: I want beer, cured meats and sushi!

Questions: So many questions. I've been questioning the genetic testing. Should we? shouldn't we? Are we prepared for any possible results? Since I haven't really been having a lot of symptoms, I have been questioning whether "Poppy" is doing well in there. You could say that I'm pretty anxious for the next Ultrasound on December 4th to make sure babe is still growing.

GTKY: What is the farthest you've been from home? Not very far! I can't handle long plane rides. England is the furthest.
  • @sheshe3386 How weird is that about the stuffy nose? I have been sneezing throughout the whole pregnancy. I don't have allergies and I never sneeze... hahah
  • I'm super late joining here and I just introduced myself on the main intro board, but I wanted to check in with my due date group too!

    EDD: June 12

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: We're considering being green for the first time! (This is baby #3)

Baby is the size of a(n): umm.. the last app said tootsie pop I think?

Upcoming appointments: nothing until Dec 9th

How are you feeling?: better! I've been so drained and queasy for the  last several weeks, but over the last couple of days I feel like I've had more energy and I've only been queasy when I'm hungry. Also haven't thrown up in a few days! Happy to be headed out of the 1st trimester.

Raves/Rants: I've been frustrated with the all-consuming exhaustion. As well as the conundrum of "nauseous because I'm hungry, can't eat because I'm nauseous". However, that seems to be getting better!

    Questions: none

GTKY: What is the farthest you've been from home?: I think Guatemala was the farthest!

  • @effienbabe I had no idea it was a thing, I just kept wondering why my nose was stuffed up since like week 6 ( I’m 11 weeks tomorrow). it hasn’t let up at all
  • @effienbabe We questioned genetic testing a lot too. My appointment was this Tuesday and we opted out of the extended screen. (We still did the standard NIPT that screens the baby for trisomy 21, trisomy 18, and trisomy 13—plus tells us gender —but none of adders that screen the parents' DNA.) We figured the results would be a) inconclusive (just because I'm a carrier for something, doesn't mean the baby will have it), b) worry inducing, and c) not really actionable. I'd do it just out of pure interest, but my insurance wouldn't cover it and I didn't want to shell out $400 for interest. haha

This is absolutely an individual choice and people have lots of really good reasons to do it!
