    3. R/R: I out in an offer on the apartment next for to combine our units, but the seller won't come to the table with a counter-offer (even though he's apartment will not sell at his asking price in this market). Rave is that I've figured out how to get my dog to stop barking (I recently started a new job which is a remote role) when I'm on a conference call. She hates the sound of my text message alerts so I play one when she starts barking and she'll leave me alone! It's like magic!
4.GTKY: Favorite Thanksgiving food? Stuffing, of course!

    2. Status? WTO...I guess? Believe it or not, I'm still bleeding, even after a procedure this past Thursday to remove any leftover pregnancy tissue from my uterus. It's been 3 1/2 weeks, dude. Stop bleeding.
    3. R/R: See above. I just want to stop f*cking bleeding already. Not only that, but I am having weekly blood draws to monitor my HCG levels, plus have recently had to do thyroid panels (one non-fasting, one after I had fasted) so I feel like a pin cushion, and am surprised I have any blood left in my body. #frustration
4.GTKY: Favorite Thanksgiving food? Pumpkin pie or stuffing.

@sheherazade have you tried chocolate pecan pie? It is so good!
@laurenmicheley I feel like I deserve an award when I outsmart my dog.
@ttcbabyodo hopefully bleeding stops soon, nothing like a constant reminder of what happened

@sheherazade So sorry you are here, welcome - I hope your stay is short.
@ttcbabyodo Ugh! I hope the bleeding stops soon! With my 2nd MC I passed most of the tissue at home before a D&C and the bleeding was the WORST. I feel for you, girl, it's so uncomfortable.
@ble1 Luckily for me, my dog's not the smartest (she has many other qualities, but intelligence is not one of them). I love desserts, too and Thanksgiving happens to be my favorite holiday!

    3. R/R: I got really mad at my OPKs this weekend. I normally use the Advanced Clear Blue Digital because it has been excellent at predicting my ovulation. For this month I also started using the other clear blue digital OPKs (not the advanced) in addition to the advanced. I felt by my body signs I was ovulating Saturday, but the advanced said no. After my husband went to work, I decided to take the other OPK and sure enough I was ovulating. I was livid because we missed our opportunity to dtd on Saturday, but we did have good timing on Sunday and Monday. Sigh....
My highlight is I have an up and coming three day weekend!!!
4.GTKY: Favorite Thanksgiving food? Sweet Potato Casserole!!! 😋

@laurenmicheley I am sorry about the apartment! I hope the owner comes to his senses and you all can agree on an appropriate price!

@sheherazade Welcome!!! FX this is your cycle!!!

@ble1 I live in the south so I couldn’t imagine getting snow this early!!! Hoping it doesn’t come!!!

@ttcbabyodo I am so sorry about this bleeding that will never end and the constant reminder!!! May I ask why do you need to fast for a thyroid test or are they just rechecking it?
  • Options
@Mamaof2beautifulgirls - I have no idea, honestly (lol). I think they just wanted to recheck since we first discovered my thyroid was overactive back in 2016 with my PCP, then my OB checked it as part of my post-MC bloodwork and it was still in that range. I mentioned it to my PCP at my follow-up with him, so he decided to check it in-house (but I wasn't fasting then), so this time around I did fast, so we'll see how my numbers come out and if that has any effect on it. I doubt it will, but whatevs.

And thank goodness it looks like my bleeding has tapered off and I'm now just spotting slightly. I felt like I was going cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs.

@ttcbabyodo I am glad to hear that your bleeding has stopped! Hopeful this will help you move forward in your ttc journey! Please let me know if the fasting makes any difference with the testing. I recently found out I have hypothyroidism and it is amazing how much better I feel from treatment.

    1. 3mc in 2017 and 1mc early 2019. And I've noticed some of you are giving ages, well I'm old, like really old. My profile name says 40 but that's from when I first joined the board, now I'm 43
    2. WTO. Had intro appt for IVF, going to give it a go but truthfully I don't want to miscarry over Christmas so we are going to wait until January. It sucks that I even think that way but it's the way my life is
    3. My heart is breaking for a friend today who's husband has just been charged with some pretty horrible allegations. Its all such a shock right now to our community, and my heart goes out to his family. I hope to god the allegations are false.
    4. Stuffing, yam, brussel sprouts, cranberry sauce, gravy, I'm starving. And Canadian so we've already had our Thanksgiving but I think we need to celebrate again

@ble1 chocolate pecan pie??? Oh man I need to try that, I love pecan pie

@ttcbabyodo the physical part of a loss is just a kick in the gut. Hope the bleeding stays away. Mine faded and then bam, all over again.

@Mamaof2beautifulgirls I too have a blood clotting disorder. On daily baby aspirin and then a blood thinner when I get a BFP. Have you been told anything different?
  • Options
@40momma no I am following the same protocol as you. I am glad you are going IVF and have a plan in place! If I could afford it I think I would go that route too.

    3. R/R: I haven't been temping/charting, I'm just naively hoping we have good timing. I've been so tired in the evening, and DH is up by 3 am every day, but he's been the one putting in the TTC effort. "This is supposed to be important sex week, right?" He's the best.

4.GTKY: Favorite Thanksgiving food?  German Chocolate Pie and Green Bean Casserole. Yummm!

    @Mamaof2beautifulgirls Hey lady!

@ttcbabyodo - also another thyroid lady. I was diagnosed at 15 years old and have never heard of fasting for a levels check! Interesting! I'm hypo and take 75 mcg daily. I've fluctuated so much over the years and during one pregnancy I ended up being taken off meds entirely. Basically my body just needs to get its $hit together.

  • Options
@modoodles Your husband sounds so sweet!!! Also I didn’t realize how much your thyroid affected (I hope I used that word correctly 🤣) your body including ovulation and pregnancy. My cycle has totally changed since starting medicine, which is also 75 mcg.

@laurenmicheley Can you come to FL and make my Boston terrier (she can be SUCH a jerk!) stop barking at NOTHING when she's in our yard? Our new neighbors must hate us!  :#
@sheherazade My mother in law used to make the most AMAZING pecan pies for thanksgiving. She passed away last year and I've never been able to make mine likes hers.
@ttcbabyodo Ugh, I feel you on the bleeding! I'm at two weeks now since my d&c and I *think* it's starting to taper, but it's just such an unpleasant reminder and having to use pads just kind of sucks. Hoping that we're both at the end!
@ble1 Not a fan of the TWW (but I guess, who is?) Are you disciplined enough to wait for a missed period or do you start testing at 9dpo like I do, lol?
@Mamaof2beautifulgirls I have a clotting disorder as well, and I've suspected MTHFR mutation too. I asked my OB if she'd have me tested for MTHFR but she basically said since I'm already on Lovenox that there's no benefit to the testing. Idk, there's so much conflicting information out there. I take folate as well, just in case. Also WOOHOO for 3-day weekends!
@40momma Hugs to you. Hoping that you get a sticky rainbow in January through IVF and that your friend is okay.

    1. Introduce yourself: New here and so grateful for this community. MMC at 12 weeks on 10/17, d&c a week later.
    2. Status? Benched for now - I'm still bleeding (though it's much less today) from the d&c and waiting for a period. I started testing for hcg yesterday and my lines are pretty faint, so I'm hoping to get this show on the road soon. QUESTION: (and I'm sure this has been asked and answered before, so apologies) my regular OB advised waiting one cycle before TTC again but the reproductive health specialist (performed the d&c) said 3 cycles. Lots of different answers to be found by Googling, but I keep seeing newer published research that it may be helpful to ttc within 3 cycles if you're feeling emotionally ready. What say you ladies? I'm a rule-follower and want the best chances of a future healthy pregnancy... but, I'm also feeling like waiting until February-March is just so far away. (And I can't help myself but feel resentful that I was supposed to bring home a baby in April. Waiting sucks. Being bitter sucks. Loss is horrible.)
    3. R/R: Rave: Super excited for the three-day weekend ahead. I'm a high school teacher and we're all needing a little break right now. Rant: Thursdays are extra hard for me. I should be 15 weeks today. And we discovered that the baby had stopped growing on a Thursday and the d&c happened a week later.
4.GTKY: Favorite Thanksgiving food? Allllll of it. Honestly, I can't answer this well because it's my favorite meal of the year and I couldn't just pick one thing. I make a mean (and super calorie-filled) sweet potato casserole that is hubby's favorite.

@CandyApple2012 I think it really just depends on how emotionally ready you are. I would definitely wait at least one cycle. Hugs to you that you make the best decision. This TTCAL is so hard and unfair!

sorry everyone, I've been lurking but haven't really had a chance to jump in this week yet

@laurenmicheley glad things are working out well with working at home! I hope you guys end up being able to get the apartment.

@sheherazade so sorry for your loss. welcome <3

@ttcbabyodo glad the bleeding is finally tapering off. The neverending bleeding definitely feels like adding insult to injury

@ble1 FX, hope AF doesn't show! Also chocolate pecan pie sounds amazing!

@Mamaof2beautifulgirls that stinks about the OPKs. I hate all the guesswork that goes into this. It just doesn't make sense. why can't it be any easier/simpler?

@40momma, sounds like it's time for thanksgiving #2! I hate that you have to plan your IVF cycles that way but I think I'd have gone through the same thought process as you.

@modoodles sometimes it's nice not to be too tied to tracking. I hope you guys have good timing and that this is your cycle!

@CandyApple2012 so sorry for your loss. I wasn't as far along as you (i was 8w4d) but my doc only suggested waiting one cycle. I think if you and your H are emotionally ready for it, and you trust your doc, you could go for just the one cycle like your first doc suggested. But if you think you might need more time, don't be afraid to take it.

    1. Introduce yourself : 30yo, incomplete MC and D&C in March 2019
    2. Status? WTO
    3. R/R: I'm behind again at work. Should probably put in a few late nights to catch back up but I have literally no motivation, lol.  Also trying to decide on whether or not to go to a conference that my boss suggested next month but *tw LC mentioned* I don't really want to leave my husband and daughter, but we both think that the trip might be a little too much for her as well. She's already been having trouble sleeping lately and I don't anticipate she'd do well on a long (5.5hr) flight *end TW*
4.GTKY: Favorite Thanksgiving food? I'm not a big pie person, though I am a fan of pecan pie. But my aunt makes the best baked mac and cheese and my mom makes the best ham. Those are definitely the highlights of thanksgiving with my family.

@CandyApple2012 I was told by my OB that if I had a natural mc (which my first 3 were) I should wait a few cycles. Most importantly for proper tracking as your first cycle may be completely out of wack (and more cycles following but at least the first one). If I had a d&c (which I did for my fourth) I should wait 3 cycles to let my uterus heal and get my body properly back on track. After my first loss, I waited 2 cycles, got pg on the next cycle but lost that one, waited two more cycles, got pregnant on the next one and lost that one too. I don't know if timing had anything to do with it and if my body wasn't ready but emotionally that year was rough, really really rough. And my body went through hell.

@manillabar I totally get the need to get caught up at work!!! It’s a never ending cycle! I hope you make the best decision possible for your family as far as taking the trip!!!
