Upcoming Appointments: This Friday, OB appointment.

How are you feeling? Been feeling great! I was even able to meal prep and bake yesterday, haven't done that in months.

Raves/Rants: I am consistently feeling baby boy! I bet I (and others) will be able to feel him in the next few week on the outside.

    Questions? N/A

GTKY: Who is your hero? Oh man...not trying to start any kind of debate but I admire all the children.young adults currently taking on the big issues and world leaders. I was not even remotely thinking of these issues or ways I could make an impact as a teen so I truly admire that.

Edit because i forgot my EDD lol third baby probs

    EDD/W+D: 17 weeks

    Team Finding out/pink/blue/green: blue

Baby is the size of a(n): large onion

Upcoming Appointments: Nov 27th anatomy scan

How are you feeling? feeling good except for the pelvic pressure and minor back aches here and there.

Raves/Rants: work has been crazy busy of late and I barely have time to plan the baby stuff. We need to get started on the registry at least and try and secure a few items during cyber monday.

Questions? have folks decided on their babymoon destination?

GTKY: Who is your hero? - I would say my parents. My mom for having all the patience in this world, and my dad for being practical and compassionate at the same time.
  • @sanpelligrino We aren’t doing a baby moon, but we are going to Disney World at the end of the month.

@coaster102516 I agree that some teenagers these days are way more active and informed than I was. It can be impressive. Glad you’ve been feeling so well.

    EDD/W+D: 4/11 17w2d

    Team Finding out/pink/blue/green: PINK!!!

Baby is the size of a(n): creme brûlée, yum.

Upcoming Appointments: Cardiologist tomorrow. Anatomy scan 12/4. We had an elective ultrasound to learn the sex today, plus I did the 3 hour glucose. Yuck.

How are you feeling? Mostly just tired. Hip pain comes and goes.

Raves/Rants: My mom called like 10 minutes after my ultrasound pretending she wasn’t trying to get me to tell her the sex. We’re going to do a small reveal with dinner at her house tomorrow night. Obnoxious that she can’t wait until we’re ready to share.

    Questions? No.

GTKY: Who is your hero? - I picked this question because I wanted to answer it. My grandmother was pretty much the greatest, sweetest woman who ever lived and I’m so excited to get to name my daughter after her.

  • @coaster102516 So glad you're feeling better! It's amazing how good it feels just to be able to make dinner again.

@sanpelligrino We're not sure if we're doing a babymoon, although I'd like to do at least a night away. Last time I was pregnant we went to a culinary resort in VT, which was great.

@mercury94 How did the glucose test go? How long do you have to wait for your results?

    EDD/W+D: April 14, 16 w 6 d

    Team Finding out/pink/blue/green: Pink!

Baby is the size of a(n): dill pickle

Upcoming Appointments: OB appointment on 11/14, ultrasound on 11/25. I'm also about to start progesterone shots to prevent preterm labor, so I'll be going in once a week for those. Joy...

How are you feeling? Not bad! The queasiness hasn't gone away entirely, but I'm able to eat much more normally now. Feel a few aches and pains, like a really bad shot of round ligament pain when I sneezed in bed last night!

Raves/Rants: This is the first week in a while that work isn't super busy and I'm really looking forward to it. There's still a lot of holiday prep to do, but no big meetings on my calendar to monopolize my time.

Questions? I'm curious how people are preparing for their maternity leaves at work. My goal is to set aside 30 minutes every Friday to work on planning, since there are things I'll need to get in order, and things I'll need to do early to make things easier when I'm gone. I'm overwhelmed by the thought, although I'm sure it will get easier as soon as I start getting organized.

GTKY: Who is your hero? Also not wanting to get too political, but honestly, Michelle Obama is a big one for me. I work at a bookstore and reading is a big part of my life, but I haven't been able to read at all in a couple of months because of the exhaustion and sickness. I finally got myself to start again last week by reading her memoir. I picked it up because I feel like I'm barely hanging on by a thread and I'm so inspired by the way she's lived her life and the way she's honest about her struggles.
  • @sanpelligrino we are just getting away for a couple nights in December. Nothing big and not considering it a baby moon, we just had a couple days off and decided to get out of town! I am SO looking forward to it.

@mercury94 Yay!! I remember you mentioning wanting a girl to use your girl name. That is so awesome! And sorry about your mom trying to sneak you into telling.  My DH’s family (though I love them a lot) is kind of the same way which is why we have lied to them all about when the anatomy scan is. Let us know how the glucose test goes

@aresee sorry about the shots!  Last pregnancy DH had to give me progesterone shots every night at the beginning of the pregnancy because we had done a frozen embryo transfer. We were so happy when we were done!

@Kathryn0903 I hope you BP is great at your apt tomorrow!

    How are you feeling?
I feel pregnant and am anxious to feel the babies. Feels like way too long between my appointments!

    Raves/Rants:
    bump app sucks

    Questions?
Anyone feel their baby yet? This is my 2nd pregnancy and I’ve had feelings that I think “could” be babies but nothing definite yet.

    GTKY: Who is your hero?
My parents. They worked hard all their life and always put us kids first while still making sure they taught us how to be responsible and stuff. Definitely a hard line to walk and I hope we can do it half as well as they did.  They led by example which is not an easy thing to do!
  • EDD/W+D: 16+6, 4/14

    Team Finding out/pink/blue/green: Blue!

Baby is the size of a(n): Orange

Upcoming Appointments: AS 11/21 and OB 11/27

How are you feeling? Pretty good! No complaints right now, so trying to enjoy it!

Raves/Rants: Daylight Savings sucked this weekend. DD was up at 4:30am yesterday and 5:00 today. I’m so tired!

    Questions? None this week

GTKY: Who is your hero? My Mom has the most incredible work ethic and built a massively successful business while raising 3 kids. I also have to say my husband, sounds cheesy I know. He overcame a lot of adversity in life (and childhood) and ended up playing a professional sport for 8 years. He amazes me with his loyalty and dedication, it’s pretty impressive what he has been able to achieve while still being very humble.

  • @coaster102516 So glad you’re feeling better! I have also finally been able to meal prep and it’s the best! We ate a lot of frozen meals during 1st Tri!

@sanpelligrino I am hoping we can squeeze a weekend to Banff in, but I don’t know if a baby moon will actually happen for us!

@mercury94 Congrats on a girl! DD is named after my grandmother and I loved being able to use the name!

@aresee I’m trying to get ahead as much a possible. Doing a little each week, similar to you. My goal is to have all of our events planned through June, someone just needs to execute. I am planning to put together a binder for my replacement. I’m in Canada and will be taking an 18 month Mat leave so my position will be filled while I’m gone. I also went 4w early with DD so I want everything ready by March 1.

@Kathryn0903 I hope daycare can help, it was a solid 2-3 weeks before DD “got it”. I’m terrible at announcements/reveals, but I’m sure there has to be something good on Pinterest or Google!
  • @aresee I should probably get results in the next day or two. The test was unpleasant, but fine. DH took the day off so he could drive me home. I think the excitement of learning we’re having a girl helped me cope a lot. I’m feeling a little queasy when I eat now and my arms hurt from the blood draws, but I’ll survive. For leave, last time I left a multi page list of everything I do so that people could cover for me. I don’t really control projects, I just provide legal support for them, so it’s hard to predict exactly what will come up when I’m gone. I definitely can’t do the work in advance.

@mandarenee898 Sometimes I think I feel her, but I’m not certain yet. She was moving during the ultrasound today and I didn’t really feel anything, so I keep questioning if that’s what I’m feeling. I had an anterior placenta with DS and didn’t feel him until 20ish weeks.

@doraleigh35 Yes. Time changes with young kids are the worst! It always takes like a week to adjust. I feel so bad for daycare having to deal with all those confused, cranky kiddos.

  • @coaster102516 - Glad you're feeling great. I'm finally having the energy to get things done around the house as well!

@mercury94 - Disney sounds like so much fun. Congratulations on team pink btw! :) great news! Sorry that you are having a hard time with your mom. Good luck with the glucose test.

@aresee - I'm a big fan of Michele Obama! I plan to read her book very soon  Sorry to hear about your progesterone shots. Is this related to something they found during this pregnancy or history with pre-term labor?
We're not entirely sure we are going to end up having a babymoon either.
With regards to maternity leave planning, this is something i've been thinking of as well. I plan to keep everything organized and send my manager emails with whatever he might need during my time away. I'm hoping he helps me with this as well, cos i'm not sure i will remember everything that needs to be handed off.

@Kathryn0903 - I hope DS's potty training goes well! A friends did a thanksgiving gender reveal last year. She had cake with a turkey on it that said "Waddle it be" and it had the gender frosting inside it. I'm sure pinterest has tons of ideas.

@mandarenee898 - A few days off sounds perfect before the twins arrival  :) Also, your parents sound like mine!

@doraleigh35 - your mom and DH sound like amazing people!

  • @mandarenee898 Yes, I’ve been feeling him for a few weeks. I have a posterior placenta this time. With my other two I had an anterior placenta and didn’t feel them until 18-20w.
  • Today’s glucose test came back normal. So, no diabetes, but I get to take it again in 10 weeks. PCOS blows.

  • @mercury94 yay for no diabetes for now!
  • congrats on the results @mercury94

@doraleigh35 Mine's posterior as well (i think the technician doing my scan mentioned it). But i dont feel anything just as yet!
  • @doraleigh35 the last u/s I had the placentas were still forming but the tech thought both would be anterior (we did IVF and it’s been confirmed that the twins are separate sacs and separate placentas). I had anterior last time too and didn’t feel DD “for sure” until about 20 weeks.  I’m just excited/anxious as those first movements make it seem all the more real!!!

@sanpelligrino I told DH that this is our baby moon and he was like “what’s that?”  😂

@mercury94 yay for passing the 3 hour test!!!!

i love reading about people’s heroes. Great GTKY!
  • @coaster102516 I have consistently been feeling baby too and it’s the best!

@sanpelligrino good idea re: cyber Monday! I don’t think we will do a baby moon. We had a long 2 week trip in august, so it feels too soon to go on vacation again.

@mercury94 congrats on the baby girl! And passing the glucose test! What a great week of news for you!

@aresee I am a full time PhD student right now so won’t get a maternity leave, luckily I do have the summer off. The last few weeks of April should be interesting!

@Kathryn0903 good luck with potty training!

@mandarenee898 I agree! The bump app has been awful lately!!

@doraleigh35 I didn’t have a kiddo to wake me up but the dark by 4pm is bothering me!

  • EDD/W+D: April 12, 17w2d

Upcoming Appointments: anatomy scan on 25th

How are you feeling? Overall, great! My back is so so sore, but so far it’s manageable

Raves/Rants: rant: salmonella (in beef) & listeria (in veggies) have been all over the news here. I just want to eat without worrying! Rave: my appetite is huge which is kind of fun!

    Questions?

GTKY: Who is your hero? My mom! She’s just the best! Also, before starting back to school I worked with kids with autism and developmental disabilities and those kids never cease to amaze me so it felt like I had new heroes each day.
