November Symptoms

Re: November Symptoms

  • I'm having a lot of cramps today.  They feel like menstrual cramps and are making me nervous.  No spotting or anything, but I don't remember this from my first pregnancy...

  • @shamrocandroll I have had a few days like that.  It sets me on edge as well.  I don't like any symptoms that remind me of my period!
  • @shamrocandroll Could it just be your uterus stretching?
  • @bananapanda I’m probably going to have to break out the maternity jeans soon. My first was an October baby, so I rarely wore long pants at the end and I only have the one pair 😬 time to go shopping, I guess!

@babyfoxden10 @laurasauruss I’ve actively tried to behave, eat, etc. like my normal self in front of the kids. It’s just freaking hard when I see them ALL the time. They practically live in the band room during the school day, and with marching band on Saturdays, we are spending 6 days a week together plus multiple evenings every week. It’s like trying to hide it from a very observant, gossipy family who lives in one huge house together.

@shamrocandroll I’ve had a few of those menstrual-like cramps, but no bleeding, so I’m going to continue assuming everything is fine.
  • @ruby696 Hopefully!  I just don't remember them being so constant last time.

  • @shamrocandroll Constipation can cause menstrual like cramps. It’s been a reoccurring thing with all 3 pregnancies for me.
  • @shamrocandroll I'm in the same boat. 11 + 3 over here and every few days I'll have cramping. I do believe it is stretching, but that doesn't make the worry go away any quicker.
  • Add me to the crampy camp. But I also had a lot of cramping/low back pain throughout my pregnancy with my son.
  • @rox7777 That is certainly always a possibility, but those cramps usually feel different for me.  I guess we'll see if they get better after a good 💩

  • I get crampy usually when im dehydrated, which is often because I’m a better coffee drinker than water drinker.
Anyway, I remember my OB in my first pregnancy telling me unless they’re rhythmic cramps (like contractions) it’s nothing to worry about.

  • Omg don’t tell me we can still vomit into second trimester. I made it all the way through my first trimester with just intense nausea no vomit 🤞🏼
  • @babyfoxden10 I’ve vomited more times in the tiny percentage of second tri then in the entire first tri  :s

Hope it goes better for you!

  • @babyfoxden10 with DD I only vomited 4 times, and each time was in the second trimester. I have been able to keep everything thing down this time around, but had some close calls at breakfast.
  • Yesterday I had papa johns for lunch and it was so good but made me feel so sick (probably the grease and garlic butter sauce) and then I felt horrible all day on the verge of puking.  I ate a salad and had water the rest of the day and still thought I was 100% going to throw up.  I went to bed early thinking I'd feel better this morning, but I didn't.  After breakfast I feel a tiny bit better but still not great.  I'm 13+1 so wondering is this just delayed morning sickness or just from eating horribly? lol
  • @jhysmath, @laurasauruss, & @babyfoxden10 add me to the camp where the nausea from the first trimester turns into vomiting closer to the 2nd.
  • I've been having terrible headaches lately. I figured it was from lack of sleep from the time change and dd not believing in it, but a colleague of mine said she started getting terrible ones right around second trimester starting. I hope I don't have them all the time now like she does, I think she's a month or two ahead of me, and has said they've been awful all second trimester.
  • The morning sickness has been keeping real since I found out I was pregnant. Nausea can ease off through the day but it's really a gamble and I never know what I'm going to get. Most days are harder than others, thanks fatigue, which sucks because it makes doing work, life, and functioning a whole lot more difficult and man are there are things to be done! Preggie Pop drops are the only thing that keep me okay and get me through the day. I miss being able to eat and hate the fact that I can only eat about 1/4 of my meal before it starts looking like something I would rather not eat. Ive rarely had some mild cramping but nothing that didnt ease off within 10-20 minutes. Hang in there we're almost through the first trimester!
  • @jhysmath I've started getting terrible headaches too! They sometimes get a bit better with water/eating but definitely don't go away. I am hoping it was just a few odd days and not something that will last all of second trimester.

  • I never got headaches at all with my other two pregnancies. This one, however, has been totally different. I’ve got one right now that comes and goes almost without rhyme or reason. So weird.

  • I'm sure this isn't a newfound revelation, but just in case it helps anyone the way it helped me- here it goes. I skeptically bought Sea Bands yesterday to help with the nausea- since it has ramped up lately. I put them on and I kid you not, felt better within 10 minutes. I don't know if Its a coincidence or not, but I did get a headache in its place (albeit, mild)
  • I'm glad I'm not the only one with headaches. I don't get them normally so it's extra irritating. I did find out how to make them go away though...get 10 hours of sleep. Went to bed at 6:30 last night because DD fell asleep at 5:30. Got up with her for a couple hours around 2 and then went back to sleep for a couple hours. I feel like a new woman. Let's hope this weekend she figures out how to sleep until the sun gets up and maybe my headaches will be much less.
  • @jhysmath I had a killer headache for about 48 hours this week.  At the end of it I slept about 10-11 hours and was like a whole new person afterwards.  Of course now I'm back to my insomnia and have mostly been awake since 1:30am.

Headaches are a way of life for me since I was a teenager, so I can't say whether or not it's actually a pregnancy symptom.  If anything I've probably had less headaches overall in pregnancy, but the one this week was particularly bad and lasted longer than usual for me.
  • Has anyone felt a new level of exhaustion recently? I had a migraine two nights ago, slept 11 hours and since that day have been so tired I had to walk outside to not fall asleep on my desk at work.

I've been going to bed early and generally don't even have enough energy to be really productive during the workday.

  • @tj_2 I've been super tired this entire pregnancy so far. I'm just 12 weeks so probably still first-trimesterish in terms of symptoms but YES on barely able to keep my eyes open in meetings.

Also yes to the headaches. I'm trying to treat them with coffee but have resorted to tylenol a few times. Fortunately not at the migraine level for me -- I feel so sympathetic to everyone dealing with migraines. That seems miserable.
  • @allie456 funny thing is my exhaustion started at 14 weeks. Maybe my body is making up for not being tired enough.

  • I read (I think on the bump..but maybe Ovia) that starting at 12 weeks headaches typically replace the nausea. I haven’t had any nausea at all until this past week - every morning I feel that gross vomit feeling in the back of my throat and if I don’t eat something immediately it gets worse.
  • +1 for headaches over here. Today I had one and it was triggered by my hair being up in a bun. Caffeine or Tylenol did nothing. When I finally took my hair down it started to go away.

@tj_2 if you are tired to the point of having a hard time staying awake at work, even after getting a normal nights sleep I would highly suggest having them test your thyroid and/or iron levels, especially if it keeps up and wasn’t a one off.

  • @tj_2 I've definitely been more tired lately. I fell asleep on the couch last night at 6:30. I'm hoping it's daylight savings related, but it it hasn't gotten better by next week, I'm going to take @m6agua's advice and have my iron levels checked.
  • I didn’t take my Diclegis last night for the first time in almost 7 weeks. Today I feel right back there with the constant queasiness and occasional gagging for no reason. I’m going to try to deal with it today but I’m taking that magic pill tonight and we will try tapering off next week. IDK how you’re supposed to get anything done when you just wanna curl up and stick your head in a toilet!
  • Count me into the headache club. My BP is fine so it's just a fun pregnancy symptom.
  • It never fails that sometime around the half way mark I start the washing machine and leave the lid open causing it to cut off after the fill cycle. Today was that day. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I’m sure in the next week or so I’ll put milk in the cabinet. Pregnancy brain is real and worse with every kid.
  • @rox7777 I was talking about that with my brother and he asked me if I found my mail in the freezer yet because apparently that's where my SIL put it when she was pregnant!
  • My hips have been hurting me when I walk. It feels like my legs don't connect right with them. With dd it hurt when I lifted my legs to put pants on so I had to sit to do that, but I don't remember pain while walking. This time I have no problem putting on pants but walking and stairs are killing me. It might be I have to do 2 flights of stairs now to get between my 2 classrooms or the fact that our apartment is the second/third floor so I'm constantly doing stairs now, but it's not fun I feel like an old lady.
  • @jhysmath yep, mine's just getting progressively worse too. With DS2 my pubic bone got to where I couldn't stand to sit for an extended period of time on an uncushioned surface. I remember we all went out to eat after my sprinkle and I had to get up from the table and sit in the car while everyone finished up their meal because I was in so much pain from a wooden chair. I started carrying a chair cushion with me everywhere just in case after that...like an old woman.

  • I’m emailing my doctor but in the meantime... has anyone ever felt bumps on their stomach/upper abdomen? They come and go but I can feel little tiny bumps in my upper stomach. Not just in one spot. They kinda feel like the natural bumps in your breast. I made my DH touch them and he said it feels like a cord. Which makes me think intestines but at 16 weeks I feel like it’s way too early for them to migrate just below my diaphragm.

Anyone else had a similar feeling?

  • For the past couple days I get sharp pains in my upper abdomen, close to my boobs and almost right about where my bump starts.

It's not super intense, has happened after eating, and doesn't last too long so I'm not super concerned but just a fun new symptom I thought I'd share with everyone

  • I’m pretty sure my body got the trimesters mixed up. I had terrible back pain in the first that seems to be mostly gone(for now), but now I have super smell and my boobs are sooo sore and heavy! On a positive, pretty sure I’m starting to feel some movement. This is my first so I’m not positive, but the feeling is nothing I’ve ever felt before.
  • All I want to drink is Gatorade which I guess isn’t the worst thing to want to drink but it’s strange for me. Also my boobs feel heavy, it sucks, I don’t remember that from this early before.
  • @drkoyya that sounds like a symptom that would kind of freak me out! I don't have that one.

@smashley09 lol at getting the trimesters mixed up. The giant boobs have been with me from the start but they are definitely still giant.

I've started being woken up in the middle of the night with horrible headaches over one eye. I'm assuming it's just dehydration but boy howdy I am not a fan. I'm also scared to take anything for them so I've resumed drinking coffee in the morning to get rid of them. Not fun.
