Fit Friday 10/25

Just a reminder, this thread is for everyone, not just those who work out regularly. This is a place to get ideas how to keep active, get help with nutrition, or just venting about how you couldn’t get off the couch this week.

How are you feeling this week?

How was your nutrition been this past week? Any good meal or snack ideas to share?

Any goals for next week?

Re: Fit Friday 10/25

  • How are you feeling this week? So. Much. Better. I have started going for a walk with DS every day for at least a mile. It was really rough to start back because I am sore from chasing him all day. But now that I have been doing it more consistently it is feeling better and better! How was your nutrition been this past week? Any good meal or snack ideas to share? Not terrible but also not great. I don't honestly worry about it much. I eat balanced meals but I also like cookies lol. I ate a lot more red meat than usual this week because we went to Texas Roadhouse then made pot roast at home. So my iron levels should be great. Any goals for next week? I think I am going to try running again. Probably just jog a minute, walk a minute intervals. If it feels ok I will keep going. If not I will stick to walking. Maybe also starting prenatal yoga on Monday...but possibly doing my friend's maternity pictures that evening so it might be another week before I start.

  • @MrsJessS That is some great walking!  Do you use a stroller or is he old enough to walk on his own?  We don't have one and on long walks we wind up carrying part of the way...at least we get an arm workout.  I can't carry her on my shoulders anymore without too much discomfort.

I've been having swelling more and more after long days on my feet. Still active though.  I feel good in the morning so that is when I work out. There are a lot of good workouts on youtube.  Anyone else work out at home?

Meh.  I really love the crispy chickpeas from costco and so have been putting them on salads etc.  Hemp seeds are also really easy to add to things.  I put them on pizza or in pesto with pasta.  I bake a lot of sourdough and so we eat that pretty often (If anyone wants to talk baking I could talk about it with you all day!).
On the sweet side I had leftover ganache and made truffles.  They were delicious.

    Any goals for next week?
My goal is always more protein!  We are vegetarian and so I consciously have to put more into my diet during pregnancy.  The good thing is protein is in a lot of foods it's just a matter of eating adequate amounts of those.

Second goal is always to balance during work activity and being active outside of work.  When I overdo it I am totally wiped out.
  • @ponyoisfun I push him in the stroller. He’s two. So he can walk that far probably it’s just a pain to try to get him to. He loves stroller rides so it’s just easier all around!
