Re: TFAS w/o 10.21

  • @kpearse99 let's start that July hype!!! I'm glad you're in a good mental headspace this cycle. I'm crossing absolutely everything for you!! Also I love your answer about your favorite part of being a parent.

What number are you trying for? 2

    Month/Cycle? 4/3

    WTO/TWW? TWW

Ages of other child(ren)? 20 months

Any thoughts about this cycle? It's been a long roller coaster of a cycle. I'm happy my body got its act together and I finally O'd though. Our timing was great so my fingers are crossed.

    Any questions? No

Rant/Rave/Brag: DD did so great with her overnight at the ILs. My MIL was super sweet and texted regular updates during the evening. I'm so glad it went well and she had fun. I think it meant a lot to my ILs to get that quality one-on-one time with her too. MIL said that DD was a perfect angel the whole time and didn't cry or whine once. DH and I had a great night away together. All in all, it was an awesome weekend.

GTKY: What is your absolute favorite thing about parenthood? I love watching her discover the world around her and make connections. It's so humbling and amazing to watch. I also love being her favorite person in the world. She lights up so much even she sees me and that's the best feeling in the world. Plus her snuggles.

I want to bottle that up forever!!  I know you've had a rollercoaster of a cycle but I am so happy for you that it's looking good for you now!! You had great timing (I've been lurking on you!!)! July, here we come!!! Woot Woot!!

Any thoughts about this cycle? I ended up getting a cold right around O, Then DH broke his back, so our timing was only meh and my FF is confusing . This is also our first cycle post loss, so not hoping for much.

    Any questions

Rant/Rave/Brag: we went apple picking yesterday. Ds had a great time.

GTKY: What is your absolute favorite thing about parenthood? Getting to really sink into every day joys. You forget as an adult how amazing simple things can be.

  • @whatsbumpinpumpkin I did not get to comment on your news over the weekend - I am so sorry about what happened to YH, that is absolute craziness!!!! How are you feeling, cold wise, and how is YH?  How is your son with YH and his injury right now?

  • @kpearse99 yesss I’m so happy to see that you’re in such a great head space! I have absolutely everything crossed for you that this is your cycle!

@gingermama29 so glad to hear everything went well with your ILs, I know you were a little worried about that. How was the wedding itself?? I’m jealous you got a night away, plus I love weddings, ha.

@coffeeandcookies84 oof, HFM is not fun. I’m glad it seems it was just a mild case, though. My DS had a pretty good case of it and of course it coincided with family photos, so we’ve got some glorious pictures complete with an HFM rash to the face to commemorate that time :|

@whatsbumpinpumpkin I completely missed the broken back — what happened? Is your DH going to be ok??
  • What number are you trying for? 4

    Month/Cycle? 1/1

    WTO/TWW? WTO

    Ages of other child(ten?) 4.5, 3, 19 months

Any thoughts about this cycle? Meh. Still no sign of O. I know this is normal for the first cycle post-IUD removal so I’m trying to be patient. I typically have short cycles though (24ish days) so the waiting game is new to me.

    Any questions? Nope

Rant/Rave/Brag - toddler sleep is slowly killing me, ya’ll. DD2 is 19 months old and is STILL an inconsistent sleeper. We had a good stretch of sleeping through the night recently, then last night she was up from 1-3:30am. My husband gets up for work at 5 so I try to take the brunt of MOTN issues, which leaves me a zombie in the morning. Not fun right now. Not fun at all.

GTKY: What is your absolute favorite thing about parenthood? Watching these little turkeys grow into actual humans with their own personalities and quirks. It still amazes me when they do something hilarious and you just wonder, “where did THAT come from?!” It’s the best.

  • @kpearse99 Thanks for asking! It's a struggle honestly. "Uppies Daddy!" "No baby..." He also doesn't realize he can't jump on him.
@kmalls He lifted something he really shouldn't have. The X-ray showed he compressed a vertebra and tore our the cartilage in his chest. He's on very very light duty until he gets in with the specialist. Hopefully he won't need surgery...
As far as MOTN - I started about age 2 just pulling him into bed with me and putting TV on quietly. He'd pass out eventually, and I would nap until he did. Sleep > no screen time.

  • Hey friends! Its 7:20 and I'm laying in bed drinking tea. Hoping to be fast asleep in the next 40 minutes. Long day of work + parenting + a cold kicking my butt = feeling like hell. I think I have a man cold... warning, my entire post is basically a long dear diary.

What number are you trying for? 2nd THB

    Month/Cycle? 9/7

WTO/TWW? TWW (but spotting so really waiting for AF)

Ages of other child(ren)? 16 months

Any thoughts about this cycle? I took this cycle off from tracking, which was excellent for my mental health. But I've been really positive during this TWW. So much so I'm not taking anything for this cold that wouldn't be pregnancy safe (so basically nothing). But started spotting today, so AF should be here soon (even though I'm still BSC symptom spotting - like these sore boobs and sensitive nipples that I swear I never get).

Any questions? Not that I can think of at the moment.

Rant/Rave/Brag: I saw my PA last week and she ordered another SA. I cant remember if I posted here or not, but she looked up the previous SA results (before DS) and said "woah, I would have loved to be a fly on the wall when (OB) got the news you were pregnant naturally after this result". DH did his SA last week, so just waiting for the test results. He said he is expecting it to come back low because he gets "stage fright" and not much comes out. I dont know if that's even a real thing 🤷🏼‍♀️ I will be doing my CD3 tests as soon as AF shows and then hopefully get a referral to a urologist or RE or treatment plan with my OB depending on results.

In other news we had an awesome weekend with DS before I got sick Sunday. Pumpkin patch, grandmas house for lunch Friday, and other grandmas for a play date on Saturday.

GTKY: What is your absolute favorite thing about parenthood? Everyone had such good answers! I think mine is a combination of watching him grow and learn and develop, but also the unconditional love that goes both ways.

@gingermama29 way to not give up on your cycle!  Hoping this is the one! Good job to your DD. DS spends nights at my parents or ILs when I need to travel for work.

@coffeeandcookies84 personally I think -1 is the best timing ;) I have not figured out how to WFH with DS so kudos to you.

@whatsbumpinpumpkin oh dang! Will his work pay for the treatment required?? That sucks that he did that much damage. FX no surgery required and he gets back to normal.

@kmalls hopefully you O soon or get AF and a cycle reboot!

  • @millpe Unfortunately we've already hit our OOP max for the year with my health problems, so either way is fine, lol. #smallblessings  Also - there is a lot that is pregnancy safe! Standard robotussion, plain sudefed actually is too, and vicks, and of course tylenol.  You just can't take the "cocktail" type like theraflu or use riccola cough drops.

  • @millpe I’ve been wondering where you’ve been lately! Sorry for the craziness you have going on right now. Colds suck, especially when you’re a mom because you NEVER get to rest up like you need to. Can you take any time off from work so you can catch up on sleep during the day? Maybe spotting is a good thing??!! 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

@kmalls hang in there, the first cycle after an IUD really is a doozy. The waiting game sucks so much, but we are here to help you pass the time! I hope DD sleeps better tonight so you get some rest too!

  • @coffeeandcookies84 sorry about HFM hitting but glad it ended up only being a mild case for YS. Family mountain biking together sounds really nice! I'm glad your DS loved it!

@whatsbumpinpumpkin so sorry about YH breaking his back. That sounds awful. That has to be so hard on everyone.

@kmalls we had a ton of fun at the wedding and really enjoyed our night away. We made friends with everyone at our table and spent the whole reception joking and laughing. Sorry you're still struggling with MOTN wakeups. Is she teething at all?

@millpe sorry you're feeling crappy. Colds suck, especially when you try not to take any meds. I'm still crossing my fingers for you this cycle.

@bows22 you're missed in the dailies but I'm glad you're taking care of yourself mentally. I'm grateful for this thread too. Good you had a nice day date! Also I agree about temping and charting. If nothing else, knowing exactly where I am in my cycle gives me peace of mind.
  • @millpe my husband had to do a SA last time around and said the same thing! Maybe it is a thing? But I feel like it's totally not a thing :D

@b@bows22 I relate to your update so much! My OB's office is within the hospital where we've had our kids and it hits me right in the heart every time we're there. Emotional for sure. And I agree about temping and charting - it definitely helps with the mental aspect of TTC, andplusalso, I've never actually heard that it's unreliable? Weird. Also I think we're the same person re: not dating seriously between high school and meeting the future spouse. I met DH a month or so before my 31st birthday (and he was 44!) and I had completely given up on a life with a partner and kids. Still to this day I look at him and can't believe it actually happened.

@gingermama29 so glad the wedding was fun, successful nights out are so good for the soul. Don't think DD is teething, she's just been a crappy sleeper for basically her entire life. Frustrating given our others were sleep champs and we thought we had it down. Womp womp.

@bows22 I was thinking about you all day yesterday and wondering how the RE went!! The first appointment really isn't much, you're right, it's just a lot of talking. How did/do you feel after the appointment? I remember walking out of mine like a weight had been lifted knowing we were going to get help.  Mine told me I don't really need to temp or do OPKs either... I love that you guys had a day date after though, I think day dates are my favorite!!

  • @bows22 for someone who lurked the heck out of the dailies for a long time, they don't seem quite as busy as they used to be, but I also have a hard time keeping up. It's nice having this weekly thread where you can pop in whenever you're able to.

I get that feeling every time I need to visit my family doctor. I rarely go, but it always brings me back to when I first found out I was pregnant with DS. I need to make a follow up appointment for blood work next week, and I'm hoping I can say "Hey, I'm pregnant again!", instead of "Do whatever you can to fix me!" Ah well...

Also funny enough. Every time we need an oil change done on our cars, DH and I both leave work early to pick up the vehicle. Our dealership is located close to a new brewery/distillery district, so we'll stop in for a pint of beer before we need to pick DS up from daycare.

  • @kpearse99 I’m glad you are feeling better and are pumped for July! I so hope this is it for you too (and me!  Well and everyone haha) have so so so much fun on your trip! As far as the RE appt, I’m feeling better in the sense that I’m glad it’s over, but I am still not thrilled with the idea that we may need help. I just need more time to get there, but that’s okay. Doesn’t hurt to do a little testing for now. Even though she scoffed at BBT, she wants me to do OPKs. I’m actually supposed to call when I get a positive and they will do bloodwork to see if they are reading my body correctly and if we can rely on them, which I thought was pretty cool.

@gingermama29 oh I’m so happy YD’s sleepover went well. I love the updates too. I’m always afraid there is a problem and they just don’t want to tell me (that happened so I guess that’s why I worry) so I totally get why that was meaningful to you

@coffeeandcookies84 it only takes once and -1 is a great one! Your weekend sounds so fun. I love sharing the things I like to do with DD.  I totally agree with you about how it’s nice to have a weekly thread that we can just pop into at any time. And that’s so cool about how you guys go for a beer before picking up YS. I always miss DD during the day so I’m so excited to go see her but I need to be better about taking advantage of the times when I have a few hours to spare and just leave her there haha

@whatsbumpinpumpkin I posted this at the end of last week’s TFAS but I’m so sorry about your H. I hope you have family around that can help you so you don’t have to do it all. I’m thinking about you!

@kmalls ugh I’m sorry for the sleep issues. That is really the worst. I hope it’s just a phase. I also bring my DD in bed with us when she wakes up and she goes right back to sleep, but I can see how you wouldn’t want to get in that habit and have everyone in your bed. I think the PA from the RE office saying BBT is unreliable was because she thinks people think it helps you tell when you are ovulating, versus knowing that you ovulated. It didn’t seem like she saw the point. I almost gave her the example of @gingermama29’s chart this month but I figured that might be weird 😂.

@millpe I’m sorry you think AF is coming. What did you think about that comment from your PA? I’m annoyed by it haha. Not necessary or helpful.  It’s funny how doctors are different though because I think plain Sudafed was the only thing I was allowed to take and the pharmacist strongly disagreed. We were definitely talking about the same kind because my OB wrote down the ingredient to look for, and the pharmacist was like “this is definitely the one she means, but I wouldn’t take it if I was pregnant” so basically I could take nothing. I hope you feel better!
  • @bows22 oh, that's actually really cool and great that they are doing that!! I think that's a fantastic way to really get a read on what's going on with your cycles and where you are at!!

  • @kpearse99 it's a crazy busy month at work right now, so although I can take sick time, I don't really want to since I feel behind as it is. I did take off an hour early today because I hit a wall and felt nauseated on top of the cold. Took a nap and I'm feeling better now, so hopefully tomorrow is better.

@bows22 I'm slightly jealous of your day date! Glad your RE appointment went well.  My dr just kind of ignored that I did bbt charting, but also wanted me to continue with OPKs. Which I found kinda interesting since you can get false surges of LH and not ovulate, so OPKs don't really confirm anything, but whatever. Super cool they will do bloodwork to confirm your OPKs though.  Will they be testing your LH levels? Or just come in a few days later for a progesterone test to confirm ovulation? I wasn't annoyed at the time about her comment because I was just going over history and told her I thought for sure H should get retested because of our previous results. They weren't in my chart so she looked them up. I think she was once again shocked that we did get pregnant on our own (we were told IVF was our path and headed that way when we got a "surprise"). I'm just waiting for our latest results and so curious if his first was a fluke or if getting KU was a fluke....

@kmalls oh interesting that your H said the same thing! No news on our results yet, so I'm hoping its good news.

    Month/Cycle? 10, 1 AL

    WTO/TWW? WTO

Ages of other child(ren)? 3 years

Any thoughts about this cycle? This is my first cycle AL, so I wasn't sure how long it would take for AF to arrive. It came earlier than expected so yay

Any questions? Does anyone else look up the potential EDD when AF arrives? I always do this and find pros and cons for each potential due date

Rant/Rave/Brag: My friends are having a Halloween party this weekend and I'm excited to see everyone. I haven't seen our friends together in about a month, so I'm excited to see everyone while I'm in a happier head space

GTKY: What is your absolute favorite thing about parenthood? I love watching DS experience new things. Everything is new and exciting to him, so we get to be kids again by experiencing everything with him.

@bows22 my dr. also said I don't need to do BBT, but I kept doing it for the same reasons. It's just nice to have that reassurance.
