I know what I’m about to say is my fault but are you freaking kidding me. Last Thursday, I accidentally hit the bumper of the car in front of me at a red light (I thought the light turned green so I went, but it was the turn light the turned green... dumb I know). There’s no damage to my car but of course the car in front of me was a BMW. The screws on my bumper left two little scratches, you could easily paint over. Well... their mechanic quotes them at $500 (which I think is ridiculous) and now they want to go through insurance. 

Again, I know it is my fault and going through insurance is the right thing. However, I’m really annoyed that my insurance is about to go up because of two small scratches, $500 my 🤬

As someone who has been rear ended 3 times (2 no damage, 1 sever damage) and someone who worked in the Collision Repair Training industry, $500 doesn't sound like too much to repaint the bumper cover. It really isn't something you can "just paint over" if you want to avoid potential rust in the future. There is a whole process to it and depending on the paint it could be a more difficult job. When I was rear ended the first time I had to get several parts repainted and my car is red and it is a Kia. The outsider may think its no big deal, but it is a tri-coat paint which is the most difficult type to match. So now in the correct sunlight, I can still see the difference in the paint on my car.

Agree that $500 sounds pretty reasonable (worked as an attorney for an insurance company for almost a decade). But I don't understand why they won't just let you pay for it and avoid insurance, if that's the concern? Another thing to think about - I know body shops report damage to DMV (or some agency - that's how Carfax gives us vehicle reports). I don't know if there is a dollar amount associated with that, however there's a chance the resale value of their car has decreased as a result of the damage to their bumper. Hopefully you can just pay the $500 yourself so your rates don't go up, and you never hear from them again.

I was out of town all last week at a conference. There were things that needed to get done last week and no one did anything that was requested.... one main project has our company owner (who also does sales) working on it and he has NO IDEA what the eff he’s doing and he sent an email to the customer last week with just 100% WRONG information. Now, we have to figure out how to correct it and make them happy again since he’s (sometimes) a fudging idiot.

@ruby696 thanks! I totally get it but I’m just upset with myself more than anything.

I would totally just pay out of pocket but they want to go through insurance, which I respect.  

I do some small dumb things all the time but this... 🤦🏾‍♀️🤬

My Monday issue starts with the weather. I'm in DFW and the storm last night just wreaked havoc all over the place. Our house seems relatively unscathed but my nights sleep can't be gotten back. Spending that long in our main bath tub with the twins while watching the weather radar on our phone isn't how I wanted to hang out last night. I know I should be grateful that we didn't sustain the damage that others are dealing with this morning.

@mokay19 Ah the uncomfortable place of trying to correct a superiors blunder. I feel for you and I'm frustrated that they couldn't get their act together to make a little progress without you at the helm.

@m6agua Thanks, I probably should have a much better attitude this morning. But, I am afraid I'm just trying to get through today so I can go home and fall into bed. DH and I have already decided we aren't cooking tonight.

MH bought his mom an Apple Watch over the weekend without consulting me. It’s not a super big deal, but at the same time we usually clear big purchases with each other. 

I’m mad about it because he bought me maternity clothes and then afterwards he casually mentioned that he bought her a watch. Oh yes, buy her fancy technology and butter me up with fat clothes. Totally the same. 🤬

@drkoyya I would be super annoyed that they won’t just let you pay for it. I’m sorry. Also, for what it’s worth, I got hit in the Target parking lot in August and just had my car fixed in the shop last week ((it was a hit and run and my insurance was hoping since Target had the customer on video the cops would actually do something)), and the guy found that someone else had backed into my bumper after the accident in August. 😡 Anyway he didn’t have a reason to tie it in to the other accident because they have to replace the whole bumper. So just, FYI, it might be that they can’t paint it and have to replace the whole bumper. Which is what they usually do if it’s a plastic bumper. 😐

@mokay19 that freaking sucks. I hated having to fix my boss’s mistakes whenever he covered for me at the bank. So annoying. 

@stella_700 well a night of interrupted sleep is worth complaining about even if some people have it worse. Glad you are okay and not cooking tonight sounds like a good plan. Hopefully the weather is over itself for a while.

@m6agua I hope your Tylenol kicks in... I always try to drink a lot more water if I have a headache and I use peppermint oil diluted with coconut oil on my neck and behind my ears. 

Today it is myself... I freaking didn’t realize today was the day pumpkins were due for preschool. So my kid was a little sad this morning and now I have to go buy a pumpkin to decorate after he gets out of school. 🤦🏻‍♀️

My DH just got diagnosed with HFM. 

DD hasn’t shown symptoms of it yet... but I’m afraid it’s only a matter of time. UGH! I told him that he better have the house disinfected when I get home.

@mokay19 Yuck! Keep him far away! I hope your son doesn't get it. It's surprising that YH has it since adults don't usually get it. Hopefully you're one of the majority!!

@mdfarmchick Her husband just bought her a fancy Fitbit over the summer. 🤦🏻‍♀️ It’s annoying because we bought her a pandora bracelet and invested in tons of limited edition charms. She broke it and I got it fixed. She’s suspiciously hasn’t worn it in 4 months and I just know she’s broken it or lost it. I’m sure the Apple Watch will go the same way. She can’t even use a computer! 

@mokay19 Just burn the house down and get rid of the husband. HFM is the worst.

Thank you never been pregnant, single sister. Shut up. I didn’t even drink the whole damn cup of a half caf mocha. It was probably a third. Good thing I didn’t mention I ate some pumpkin loaf too. After I went to the gym. 🤦🏻‍♀️

@mdfarmchick I side eye the hell out of any non-medical professional who has an opinion on what a pregnant woman is eating. A friend of mine's husband asked her if she knew how many calories was in the glass of OJ she was having before bed. I personally think violence in those situations is justified.

I just found out from someone at school, that apparently a bunch of other teachers have been going behind my back, asking other people to see if I'm pregnant. Just mind your own business.

My bitchfest involves preschool carpool. The other girl we drive to school (other family does pickup) is being so nasty to my DD and this morning it got physical. Sooooo now I have to do the drive twice a day. Not too awful since it’s a 60 min round trip but it’ll kill my afternoon nap.
