  • EDD/weeks+days: May 14th/10+4

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Finding out.

Baby is the size of a(n): Strawberries

Upcoming appointments: Just had one last Thursday, so nothing for a month. Doing routine labs today and Panorama draw on Friday!

How are you feeling? Pretty good. Tired and my boobs hurt. But I feel less bloated since I stopped taking progesterone, so that's awesome.

Raves/Rants: I can get one of the twin's HB's on my doppler and it's been SO reassuring.

    Questions: Nope.

GTKY: Do you have any recommended shows/movies/podcasts? Like so many others, I love Stranger Things. MH has gotten me into Hell on Wheels, which is pretty good if you like westerns.

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: finding out

Baby is the size of a(n): brussels sprout

Upcoming appointments: next check in with the OB is 11/7, and I need to schedule my NT screening

How are you feeling? I would really really love to have my appetite back. Otherwise just tired.

Raves/Rants: Excited I'm only working 3 days this week! We leave Thursday to Iowa for a friend's wedding.

    Questions: none today

GTKY: Do you have any recommended shows/movies/podcasts? Any Binge Mode fans around? They do deep dives on tv and movies, some one offs and some series. They just started their Star Wars episodes today and it's making my commute better.

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Finding out

Baby is the size of a(n): Tootsie Pop

Upcoming appointments: Repeat thyroid labs for the Endo early next week, 12 week appointment on Oct 29!

How are you feeling? Pretty good. My skin is finally clearing up which is so nice and I feel less bloated. I know that this is the time that symptoms start to dwindle, but sometimes I second guess it. I would say that I am feeling my uterus expanding and have more RLP.

Raves/Rants: I had such a nice weekend with DD (DH was working). We had a birthday party and then spent some time outside and I took some 3 yo pictures of her. Tomorrow I am having lunch with my cousin and aunt, I am super excited. I really want to tell them, but I need to wait. I planned on telling them during deer hunting/thanksgiving.

    Questions: Nope

GTKY: Do you have any recommended shows/movies/podcasts? I listen to podcasts all day at work and I listen to quite a mix of genres. I LOVE Crime Junkie, I really enjoy true crime anything and I love the way they tell these peoples stories. I am really enjoying The Viall Files, it is by Nick from the Bachelor and it is mostly about life, dating, relationships and stuff. Even though I am not in the dating world, I find the topics and conversation really interesting and sometimes enlightening. It is pretty relatable. I've also been listening to The Birth Hour, I love birth stories and it is cool to hear so many different experiences.

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: finding out

Baby is the size of a(n): lime or Brussels sprout

    Upcoming appointments: 10/30

How are you feeling? Better today. I had a migraine all weekend that my rescue meds couldn’t kill and was keeping me awake. I also was having a hard time keeping hydrated from being sick. It was a rough weekend. I’m tempted to call and see if they can check on baby since all of that happened, but can’t decide if I feel like making the hour drive when I’m going in just over a week.

Raves/Rants: Rant - house hunting has been a frustrating process this time around. I’m so tired of having to live with my IL’s. Hopefully something will show up soon.

Questions: wwyd? Would you go check on baby or just wait until the next appointment?

GTKY: Do you have any recommended shows/movies/podcasts? I love the show Grantchester. I wish there were more episodes.

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green:
    Finding Out

Baby is the size of a(n):
    Tarot Tot

    Upcoming appointments:
Next Monday 10/28–genetic testing and bloodwork/pap/etc.

    How are you feeling?
I’m getting a cold but otherwise I actually feel pretty good. The past week the progesterone side effects have calmed down quite a bit which is really nice. And while I’m not done getting sick, I’m glad the nausea is less.

    Raves/Rants:
Rant: stupid cold. I’m all stuffed up and my ears are clicking but this too shall pass.
Rave: I actually ordered coffee today and am able to drink it. I have missed coffee so much.

    Questions:
    Not now.

GTKY: Do you have any recommended shows/movies/podcasts?
I really like to listen to Allie Casazza’s podcast about minimalism and motherhood. I watch a lot of HGTV and Food Network... someday when I am not so tired I’ll get back into The Crown, Outlander, The Voice, etc. Oh and if you haven’t watched Yummie Mummies on Netflix... it’s so funny.
  • @ruby696 yay for less bloat and finding a baby on the Doppler! I can’t decide if that would be better or worse for me because what if I can’t find it. 😝

@heyybritt enjoy the short week and the wedding!

@austenista good luck finding a place soon. I could not live with my ILs. If you are worried, you could at least call the nurse’s line and see what they say? Maybe they can put your mind at ease at the least.

@m6agua that sounds like a good weekend! Good luck with your labs.
  • @mdfarmchick I'm always torn too, but it's been good for peace of mind this time around. I try to limit myself to once a week.
  • EDD/weeks+days: May 11th, 11 weeks

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: finding out (which should be in less than two weeks with NIPT testing that I just did); hubby and I have to decide if we can be patient enough to wait to open the results though! I was thinking of waiting until his birthday in mid-November or until Thanksgiving when we tell family. I'm not sure I have the patience to be around an envelope that holds that information and not look..

Baby is the size of a(n): fig

    Upcoming appointments: 10/30

How are you feeling? Starting to feel a little better; some cramps.

Raves/Rants: My cat was playing on the stairs yesterday and I was trying to get around him and I fell. I hit my back/tailbone and was having fuzzy vision/ a rush of what felt like a fever right after. I tried to take it easy yesterday. My tailbone is super sore now. It hurts when I go from a sitting position to standing or when I try to sit or bend at all. From what I have read online it seems like having a fall during early pregnancy isn't too worrisome (especially if it isnt on the stomach). I haven't had any bleeding or anything and assume the baby is pretty well cushioned at this stage. I am suffering through the back pain to hope it gets better asap but mostly hoping that it didn't impact the baby.

Questions: See rant/rave- anyone have experience or advice on this? Another random-specific question I have that you guys may not know (that the nurse had no idea either): I had a vanishing twin this pregnancy. I am wondering how that would impact me doing the NIPT testing for any of the results including the baby's sex? If the DNA/information is still present from the vanishing twin. My quick google searches said it could have an impact but I didn't see a ton of research/info on it.

GTKY: Do you have any recommended shows/movies/podcasts? My hubby and I started watching Breaking Bad; he watched it years ago but now I am starting to get into it. We also love the Masked Singer! :)
  • @doctorcrime Who are you doing NIPT through? I'm using Panorama and that's the only one that can determine sex between twins and whether they're identical/fraternal. My form has a line that specific says that it will not diagnose/confirm a vanishing twin, but that's all it says about it. I've also done genetic testing through Natera (Natera is who Panorama is through) and they were really helpful on the phone. Maybe just call the number on your box/collection kit? I'm sure they can answer your question.
  • @ruby696, I am not 100% sure which company it is through. My doctor gave us the paperwork and we just took it into the outpatient center at the hospital and they sent off the blood last week. My doctor didn't give me any heads up about how the vanishing twin situation could impact results. I mentioned it to the nurse who took my blood and she had no idea. I was only told it would be sent off to California and I would receive results in 1-2 weeks. :\
  • EDD/weeks+days: 5-14, 10 weeks

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: finding out as soon as I hit 13 weeks! So excited. Was team green for my daughter and I’m pumped to go the other route this time.

Baby is the size of a(n): some apps say LEGO man, others say paper clip. Wtf.

Upcoming appointments: 10/30 for questions and stuff. Idk. It’s my one midwife appointment.

How are you feeling? Terrible. Still puking every hour.

Raves/Rants: now that I’m 10 weeks, I’m only 2.5 away from finding out the sex and that’s a big milestone for me that’s exciting.

    Questions:

GTKY: Do you have any recommended shows/movies/podcasts? My Favorite Murder, Crime Junkie, Murder Squad, Juicy Scoop, True Crime Obsessed. There’s a theme and I give no f*cks.
  • EDD/weeks+days: May 13th 10+5

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: finding out! I was initially think I would wait until 14 weeks and do an elective ultrasound, but now I'm considering NIPT just because it would be nice to know earlier as well as finding out about all of the potential genetic things so we'll see

Baby is the size of a(n): ferrero rocher

Upcoming appointments: tomorrow with the OB.  I'm assuming it will be a pap and possibly blood work.  She will also try to find the heartbeat with the doppler, and if that doesn't work just yet she'll bring in the in-office crappy ultrasound machine.  I will feel so much better if all goes well tomorrow!

How are you feeling? anxious for tomorrow, very itchy, and raging a lot

Raves/Rants: DH was out of town for a work golf trip this past weekend and my parents kept DD so I had the ENTIRE WEEKEND to myself.  I ran errands, cleaned house, ate what I wanted, relaxed a little, and slept in! It was amazing!

    Questions: nothing at the moment

GTKY: Do you have any recommended shows/movies/podcasts? not really.  I'm pretty lame and usually way behind on shows.  I only watch comedies for the most part and not very many.
  • @ruby696 I still need to watch Stranger Things. I have so much on my list and can never catch up. I usually end up watching TV shows on my phone while I'm doing housework.

@hyybritt I am jealous of your 3 day work week! Enjoy the wedding!

@Austenista Sorry about the migraine I hope its eased up by now. I guess I would just wait until the next appointment if its next week already.

@mdfarmchick I haven't watched Yummie Mummies, but I heard it is funny.

@doctorcrime I'm sorry about your fall. The baby is so small and protected right now, so I would think you should be fine waiting until your next appointment. But if you are worried a phone call to your doctor never hurts, and they can decide if you should be seen. FWIW I fell on the stairs several times when pregnant with DD, pregnancy made me so klutzy!

@linsbins I'm sorry you are still getting sick. I LOVE Crime Junkie, I've been thinking about trying out True Crime Obsessed but haven't gotten to it yet.

@bananapanda That is my doctors plan for my next appointment too, use the doppler and if it doesn't work bring in the bedside ultrasound. That sounds like an amazing productive weekend!

Finding Out (NIPT is Fri so I should know in a couple of weeks!)

Baby is the size of a(n):
    Cardinal Tetra Fish

    Upcoming appointments:
Fri 10/25 - meeting w/ geneticist and bloodwork for NIPT
    Wed 10/30 - 12-wk midwife appt

    How are you feeling?
The nausea came back stronger again the last few days, but seems to be lessening again today so I’m hoping it stays at this more manageable level. Insomnia also came back last night and that sucked.

    Raves/Rants:
Rant: Pregnancy congestion stinks and I think is contributing to my insomnia. Ugh.
Rave: I decided to splurge on the Aaptiv app (at half off) and am looking forward to diving into regular workouts again! They even have a maternity series starting at 13 weeks.

    Questions:
    Not now.

GTKY: Do you have any recommended shows/movies/podcasts?
Great British Baking Show, iZombie, Chef’s Table, Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Good Omens to name just a handful of my eclectic taste. I haven’t spent that much time watching things the last few months, but will do more with the cooler weather.
  • @lajoliedreamer it’s soooo good. There’s books it’s based off of that I keep meaning to read as well. I’m sure they’re amazing too.

  • @ruby696 YAY to less bloat!

@heyybritt That's awesome about the short week, have fun this weekend!

@m6agua Have fun at lunch today!

@Austenista I'm sorry about the migraine and the poor luck house hunting. That's stressful- hopefully you find something perfect soon!

@mdfarmchick Booo about your cold. I also have been occasionally having coffee lately and it's sooo amazing.

@Linsbins I'm sorry you are feeling so awful.

    @bananapanda your weekend sounds fabulous!

  • EDD/weeks+days: 5/14, 10+5

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Finding Out- I could actually know right now!!! I'm dying! I got a message from my OB last night saying my results were normal/negative and to call the office today if I would like to know the sex. I DO but my H and I are going to do a little reveal together tonight with DS so I'm impatiently waiting until then... I had my twin sister call to find out and I'll have her arrange everything. I think we are just going to have my DS open a box and there will pink or blue balloons inside.

Baby is the size of a(n): Strawberry

    Upcoming appointments: 10/30

How are you feeling? Overall better, nausea is of course terrible at the moment but overall it's been coming and going and I feel much better.

Raves/Rants: Busy busy weekend and now at week at work- my patient isn't doing great. Rave: It was such a relief for NIPT to come back normal. Now I'm just dying to know...

    Questions: Nope

GTKY: Do you have any recommended shows/movies/podcasts? I am super into The Americans right now, also started the Night Manager and it's good. I also watch the typical This is Us and A Million Little Things.

@rachelg777 so exciting you are about to find out!!!

@lajoliedreamer I love Aaptiv! I used it all the time before I sprained my ankle right before I found out I was pregnant so I've definitely been slacking on using it since then. I'll have to check out their maternity series!

  • @rachelg777 How exciting! I have my blood draw for Panorama on Friday - it's so exciting that we're already hitting the stage where people are finding out sex!
  • @rachelg777 I’m so jealous! Can’t wait to hear. Do you have a feeling one way or the other?? I felt like both boys were boys and I kind of feel like this one is a girl and DS1 is positive it is. I’m looking forward to seeing what we find out in a couple weeks. Ps, I was sad about the coffee, no caffeine for so long meant that even a third of a half caf gave me the jitters 😝😂
  • @mdfarmchick For the first few weeks I was convinced it is a girl but now I'm leaning towards boy.... so no strong feelings I guess! and about the coffee, ugh I know! I have been doing half caf as well. We will have to build up a tolerance again.
  • @rachelg777 so excited for you to find out. Mine is next week and I can’t wait.

Totally posted this in the wrong group earlier today due to some phone issues...

    EDD/weeks+days: May 12th, 11 weeks + 0

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: finding out

Baby is the size of a(n): lime

Upcoming appointments: next Monday for NT scan and hopefully cell-free fetal DNA

How are you feeling? Still some food aversions, new boob pains, still exhausted in the evenings. Swear I am feeling the baby move, but I may be delusional. (As a STM, feel like I kind of know what it feels like..but also really may just be too early...)

Raves/Rants: still nervous about telling my employer. Lots going on right now that is changing roles, so it’s not a good time. Told my direct manager and she was excited and I said I was nervous about sharing further given how much is up in the air. She said she will keep it quiet until I give her the go-ahead.

    Questions: none

GTKY: Do you have any recommended shows/movies/podcasts? I enjoy the Sporkful, Planet Money, and back episodes of The Longest Shortest Time

  • @adventuresawait2 sorry work is so up in the air. I hope you can tell them when you choose, and that things don’t get too stressful. The earliest I felt baby movement with my second was 14 weeks. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Could be?
  • @mdfarmchick thanks, appreciate it!
  • @rachelg777 aww congratulations! I have a soft spot in my heart for two brothers personally. Double trouble and double the fun. ♥️
  • Congrats @rachelg777! Little boys are so sweet ❤❤
  • @rachelg777 Yay!!!  Congratulations!  I second @ruby696.  Little boys are just so sweet.  💙

Baby is the size of a(n): Strawberry

Upcoming appointments: Oct 29. Blood work and hopefully get to hear baby’s heartbeat on the Doppler

How are you feeling? Pretty good! My boobs are sore but I really haven’t been too sick, just on occasion.

GTKY: Do you have any recommended shows/movies/podcasts? I love manifest, first season was great! The second season hasn’t come on yet. For you that like shoes more on the scary side the purge is awesome but I can’t watch it when I’m home alone lol.
