Re: TW Tuesday | 10.15

  • My damn dogs are TW right now. Had my first dog for 8 years with only one injury the whole time-from another dog biting him. In the last 18 months since we got our second dog there have been 5 total injuries (none from fights, they love each other). But almost $1000 in vet bills in the last month over a broken foot, a wound from the splint rubbing on his skin that he almost had to be hospitalized for, and the other dog had a stupid playing thing and broke a claw, but (giving no details for respect of nausea!) suffice to say he had to go in too.

Sigh. And it means giving meds, locking them up in crates all day sometimes), cone of shame, etc. And dealing with said wounds when I'm nauseous and cranky.

Love them, but SERIOUSLY STOP HURTING YOURSELVES!!!!!

  • I think the starter in my car is going. I was just in there to get an oil change and was pissed by the time I left because it took way, way longer than it was supposed to then they couldn't find the paperwork, all while I'm telling them I HAVE to go so I can pick my kid up from daycare on time. I hate dealing with that stuff and I hate having a car that I don't feel like I can trust.

  • And... because the times my husband has started the car it’s only been the very minimal pause—the one where for weeks I thought I was imagining it, as opposed to Monday when I went to leave after daycare and it was crystal clear there was a problem—and because the battery test came back good, his call is to just keep rolling the dice until he’s out of town and I get stuck somewhere with the kid, in winter. Which, thank goodness our winter isn’t Minnesota winter. I get that it’s hard to diagnose if you don’t witness the issue and that part of my fury is hormonal but I’m pissed. Reminds me of the time the engine block cracked and after having it towed to the dealership the guy “now-nowed” me when I told him it was toast & I needed a loaner. Oh, what’s that? The entire engine needs replaced & you’re getting me a loaner? Mm-hmm. 😒
