Back pain. So much back pain. And my tailbone. If I sit too long, stand too long, walk too long... it all makes it flare up.

I got a blanqi support tank but it’s been too hot to wear it. Plus my bump doesn’t fill it out all the way so I’m not sure if it’ll actually do anything...? Either way I’m anxious to try it out.

My back has started hurting too! I feel like this didn’t happen until 3rd trimester last time 😢 I was hoping to avoid PT until postpartum but idk if I can wait that long now.

@varimama @miss.sally not much back pain here, but lots of RLP/pubic bone/general crotch and lower belly soreness. Sometimes it's almost like a burning pain, which is super fun. To clarify, my crotch isn't burning LOL - it's my ligaments 'n' stuff.

@stassischroeder yesssss the RLP is so much worse this time around. I am terrified of sneezing.

Feeling the back pain over here as well! I have been trying to do yoga, low heating pad and having my partner helped get the kinks out. All of these methods seem to help in the immediate but then back pain starts right back up again! On the bright side about 90% of my nausea is gone.

@stassischroeder & @miss.sally  This is maybe a weird question, but does RLP feel like you pulled a muscle on the side of your abdomen?  I've been getting this if I'm squatting for too long and stand up or sometimes when I roll over at night.  I wasn't sure if this could be RLP or something else.

@merle89 yes girl! RLP is like a sharp shooting pain that happens when you move too fast. Or roll over in bed. Or sneeze. Or just like... be. Lol. It’s the worst. I’m sorry you’re experiencing it.

    Edited because typos.

RLP and back pain too. I had attributed all my back pain to pulling it last week, but there's definitely lingering aches and pains in my lower back/tailbone. I really don't want to have to pay for the chiro, but it may be necessary if a massage doesn't help.

@merle89 yup. I sometimes get a sharp pain on the side of my groin, but then I also get a weird muscle-pull feeling on the side of my stomach when I twist or lift/twist too fast. Like last night I lifted my toddler up and twisted my abdomen to set him on the bed, and it honestly felt like someone poked me in the side with a stick or something lol.

@creativesoul63 yup to the dreams! Lots and lots of vivid, weird dreams.

Well my OB basically told me “too bad” about the back/tailbone pain. Lol. She suggested yoga and Tylenol. 😒

These all don’t sound like fun!

I have headaches. Lots of headaches. And I feel my heart beating/increase in heart palpitations to the point where sometimes I have to catch my breath

@miss.sally my NP told me the same when I had SPD last pregnancy. I second @chichiphin that seeing a PT would likely be beneficial. Do you need a referral for that? Where I live we don't need referrals, but if you do, I'm guessing your OB would give you one if you asked.

@stassischroeder I don’t need a referral, so I can definitely go. And it was an NP I saw today, not my actual OB. I’m going to try the prenatal yoga and the stretches my PT had given me before pregnancy.  I’m just realllllly bad about following plans like that.

It was probably due to overeating  :# but yesterday, and through this morning, I felt like I've had a boulder in my belly, that's not my baby. I did overindulge with treats at work yesterday morning, and I still barely had room for dinner last night. But the feeling in my stomach kept me from sleeping well. I drank a soda this morning, in hopes that the carbonation would help settle my stomach, and it's improved. But I'm still feeling a little icky. Woof.

So this is my third and final pregnancy and I don’t think I’ve ever really had RLP. I’ll be curious to see if I do this time?

@creativesoul63 63 YES to the dreams ramping up. I am remembering at least two a night so obviously not sleeping that well!

@miss.sally Did your OB say anything about the belly button???

@kagesstarshroom I’m so sorry about the lack of motivation. I detest that feeling and went through a wave of it for the past two weeks that seems to have lifted and left along with the hot weather. I hope yours does too. Also worried about the Zantac. I relied on that stuff for the third trimester when acid reflux really starts regardless… and now it apparently kills you and has been pulled from shelves? Ughhhh.

@MrsVP614 I am having a similar thing after I over indulge---and I’m not talking eating a whole pizza. I really need to be eating small, digestable meals, but my life doesn’t work that way haha. I do know that it is this trimester when digestion really slows down… until everything let’s lose the night before you go into labor!

@silverhope @EmilyLove25 @stassischroeder Glad I’m not alone! I just woke up from my nap feeling super nauseous again. Maybe the sickness is just delayed for me. But I’ll definitely try to be smarter about my food choices.

It’s interesting to here people describe RLP as “crotch burn”. For me, it’s in my lower abdomen usually on one side, almost like a cramp you might get from running too fast or something.

Anyway I’ve been getting a lot of it. Also idk how to describe it but I’ve been complaining a lot to H that “my bones hurt.” It’s like my hips and spine feel all out of whack, especially if I’ve been standing all day or sitting in one position too long.

Weirdly, I feel less hungry than I did from weeks 8-12. I was snacking constantly and having weird junk food cravings. Now I’m eating *almost* normally.
  • Options
@kantobean the RLP I'm experiencing feels a lot like yours. Always on one side, like I pulled a muscle, or a cramp after running. I was confused about the "crotch burn" feeling as well.

I also think I'm back to eating normal! However I have noticed I have tiny cravings for more salty foods than before
  • Options
@kantobean and @babyfox320 I am with you on the RLP. In my past pregnancies the lightning crotch has been a very different and painful thing that happens later in the pregnancy? I never associated it with RLP.
  • Options
I’ve been a completely lazy bum the last few days. Having a really hard time shaking the tired. I think my nausea is finally starting to go away a little bit, which is exciting. Makes me a little worried that I’ll start packing on weight really fast now. Lol.
  • Options
@kantobean I’m also less hungry now than I was in first tri. I pretty much feel like eating normal meals rather than snacking all the time to stave off the nausea. I’m going to ask at my dr. appt tomorrow if I need to pay more attention to my calories intake so that I gain more weight, or if I’m fine just eating normally. Gaining a pound a week sounds daunting to me!
  • Options
@miss.sally I too have felt beyond lazy this weekend. I finally had my energy back and then it hit me hard again this weekend.

My dang sinuses have also been so bad this past week!

    @kagesstarshroom said;

I can't tell if my lack of motivation to do things I HAVE to do/consistent falling behind/procrastinating is because I feel sick all the time or because I'm depressed because I feel sick all the time or something else. Whatever it is, it's not Like Me, and I don't like that.

I so relate! I have to take a break every once in a while and just put my feet up, but I still feel super lazy when I do. Lots of guilt for not having an immaculate house, but my two year old is winning that battle currently!

@stassischroeder thank you for mentioning and describing your RLP! I had a pain that was really bugging me, and I thought maybe this was it. I was a little freaked out because it felt like I pulled a muscle or busted something ajar in my midsection/abdominal area. 😣 Outside of the pain, RLP sounds rather benign. Is that accurate?

I have never had this before. Lightening crotch, yes. But I think that comes later. Something to look forward too! 🙄

also, TMI sorry, but I’ve noticed my just extra stinky. I am showering twice a day and putting on deodorant again mid-day... even brushing my teeth three times a day. I just feel like my body is putting off extra of everything!  I keep telling my husband it’s his offspring doing this, not me. Especially my little “jet pack in the back!” 😮💨🙈

Starting today I’ve just started to feel really “pregnant”. It seems soooo obvious there is a baby in there now! My pants don’t fit, some heartburn, and even had a Braxton Hicks today. I guess this can happen earlier with a second child? 17 weeks and this is really feeling real!

@AmyKDuffy I had a Braxton Hicks over the weekend also! I never had them with my other two so it totally took me off guard.
  • Options
@Cristin343 Yeah I wouldn't worry about it unless you experience a lot of intense, residual pain after the fact. Like, you feel RLP and then are really, really sore for days afterward. I mean, I'm sore a lot, but not like post-injury sore. Does that makes sense? Also, the extra stinky thing can be because of hormones, or just because your senses are heightened so smells are intensified for you. Either way, it's normal!

@babyfox320 So jealous you can eat normal.

@AmyKDuffy I've had heartburn for weeks (I'm 16w2d today) if that makes you feel any better? But I think you meant the Braxton-Hicks.

@Cristin343 I read that "stinky" lol is a new fun symptom for...it was either 15w or 16w...yay.

I am 16w2d today & worried I'm not eating enough? I'm gonna talk to the OB on Friday about this, but I feel like I'm barely eating for one bc I feel so sick all the time, let alone adding many, if any, extra calories here and there. But my nausea is still off and on and honestly mostly on--if I feel alright in the morning, I'm sure to feel like I'm about to puke any second/at least like I definitely don't want to eat anything by the evening. I've been going to bed earlier bc it's better than staying up feeling sick. I am hoping the OB says it's okay to go back on the bonjesta forever. Between the nausea and the heartburn, when I want to eat I don't know WHAT to eat that isn't going to make either worse/hate all my options. I just want to be good at being KU and eat all the things. March seems a million miles away.

@EmilyLove25 So I'm thinking I did not have RLP in the previous two pregnancies either, but apparently I have gotten it full blown this time around. I worked a lot one weekend, standing a ton. The next two days, I got like a cramping feeling, centralized lower right side primarily. Thought it was sore muscles from the weekend. There was one point where I had been in my car for a bit and went to get out and couldn't even stand fully straight. I saw the perinatal specialist on Thursday and she assures me it's RLP!! Dreadful, her only suggestion was to hold my belly as I do any movements like getting out of the car or bed. She did say it should resolve later on once my uterus gets big enough to kind of stay in one place rather than shift around, pulling ligaments. Fingers crossed and I hope you avoid it this time around!!
On a positive note, feeling lots of flutters lately!! Curious whether there are any trends in baby movement between males and females, even though my doctor kind of chuckled at that suggestion. But my DD was like a sloth, and my DS was a constant pinball. Or could it be a first baby - less area to move, second baby - more stretched out landscape to work with :D. DS was also way more mobile in his limbs before gaining control in those first couple months after being born, and when I asked my Ped about it, he said males are more physical!! All just a lot of self thought of theories going on over here, excited to see how this DD2 is once it's more noticeable!!
  • Options
@kagesstarshroom I didn't keep much down with DS and gained less than 10 lbs total, which some would say is dangerous... he was totally fine! I am a believer in eat when you can. Really you only need ~200 more calories per day. So on days you can, eat, and when you can't, don't beat yourself up. That baby will take everything you have that it needs. As long as you aren't over fatigued and your bloodwork is fine, I bet that baby is great. That said, OF COURSE it is always good to talk to your OB!

@stac4056 my MIL said DH was a super kicker and his bro was lazy (so they were sure BIL was a girl). And my mom said I kicked so much they were sure I was a boy.

DS was a crazy kicker and this baby seems lazy in every u/s and I haven’t felt a thing yet, but I’m 99% sure I saw a penis at my NT scan so I think this is a boy. Hopefully a lazy boy bc I’m already tired with just DS.

@stac4056, I've been feeling some flutters here and there too.  :)  I had a similar situation as you - DD, first baby, didn't move much, DS, second baby, constant kicks.  DD is a naturally more calm person than DS is, he is still constantly moving!  I don't know if he just moved more than she did, or if I felt it more due to placenta placement and the fact that he was the second.  This LO is a girl and already feeling more movement than with DD.

I've definitely experienced both RLP and lightning crotch, and I think they're two different things.
For the past few days for me, I'm having waves of nausea and not able to eat anything. I shouldn't complain since I haven't vomited, but it's weird that it's just now kicking in for me instead of the first tri.

@Cristin343 I have the same problem. Trying to use natural deodorant and it's just not cutting it.  :#
