I love the weather; both the rain and our crazy beautiful, albeit short summers. I also love how compared with other parts of the country we're pretty liberal and ethnically diverse. I love how close we are to both mountains and oceans.
I hate how expensive it's getting to live around here and how many of my students' families are moving south to try to stay afloat. I'm also not a fan of the traffic.
When guests visit we eat a lot of seafood - especially salmon. There are also a ton of kid friendly breweries around here, so we go there for local beer...we love IPA around here.
With as much or little detail as you please, tell us where you live! I'm in Louisville, KY.
What do you love about where you live? It's a relatively large city, with a booming food/bourbon scene, but still feels comfortably small. Also, there's nothing like the Kentucky Derby!
What do you hate about where you live? Being in a red state, and the Ohio Valley allergies!
What do you take guests to eat when they visit your region? There are sooo many awesome local restaurants here, so it truly depends on what we're in the mood for. Brunch is my jam, so I always try to squeeze that in at a few of the local spots.
With as much or little detail as you please, tell us where you live! I live in Southern Maine (almost NH)
What do you love about where you live? I love that we live in a small town but can drive to larger cities in 30-60min depending on which one and Boston is only 2 hrs away if we need a really large city. I also love the summer and fall weather.
What do you hate about where you live? The winters are brutal and springs are basically second winter.
What do you take guests to eat when they visit your region? Usually seafood, lobstah rolls and fish are always a fav, breweries, we have this awesome little breakfast/lunch place that is amazing, farm fresh ingredients, and kid friendly!
Me: 33 | DH: 34 Married: October, 19, 2015 EDD 2/22/17 DS1 born on 3/2/17 EDD 3/8/20 DS2 born on 3/10/20 EDD 11/24/23 (Formerly Marriedhamstermom Feb ‘17)
What do you love about where you live? We live in a smaller suburban town with a lot of rural ties, but still have train access to one of the biggest cities in the country.
What do you hate about where you live? People can be really ignorant because everyone has a small town mindset and are afraid of anything related to ‘the city’.
What do you take guests to eat when they visit your region? Usually to the local public house or to a breakfast place.
With as much or little detail as you please, tell us where you live! I live in northeastern Maryland.
What do you love about where you live? So much! Very suburban, family friendly, great schools. Nearly all of my close and extended family lives within an hour or so. Tons to do very close, and even more within day trip distance. I like that we get a pretty equal amount of summer and winter here as well. We also don't get much in the way of natural disasters here - rarely a tornado or hurricane, a blizzard every few years, only one earthquake in my lifetime and that was a big deal when it happened.
What do you hate about where you live? I'm in love with where I live so honestly, not much. It'd be nice if we were a little closer to the beach that we could day trip that, but otherwise I'm very happy here and have no plans to move in my lifetime.
What do you take guests to eat when they visit your region? Because nearly all my family lives here, we don't ever really get out of town guests that don't know Maryland food. One of the more popular food items that people tend to think Maryland does better are foods with local blue crab like crabcakes. We really enjoy eating steamed crabs as well but that's a treat we usually only get once or twice a year.
With as much or little detail as you please, tell us where you live! I'm In a suburb of Pittsburgh Pa!
What do you love about where you live? I am starting to like certain things about the area. It’s growing a lot and finally getting better food and local “stuff.”
What do you hate about where you live? A lot of the people here are very closed minded, racist, sexist. It’s weird. It’s like Pittsburgh is taking a few extra years to get with the picture. I also with there were more outdoorsy things to do. I miss Seattle. ☹️
What do you take guests to eat when they visit your region? We are finally getting some great local non-chain restaurants. My favorite is a winery that has Italian food. And a place called the boathouse where we can sit on a deck overlooking a lake and eat really delicious local foods. And when I’m not pregnant they have fabulous mixed drinks!
- ———————————-
@keeksie84 I grew up in Redmond and moved to Kirkland. I now live in a different state and almost all of my friends who grew up there had to move way outside of those places because costs skyrocketed so much. It’s so sad because I LOVE it there.
With as much or little detail as you please, tell us where you live! In the upper midwest
What do you love about where you live? I love all the opportunities for outdoor activities, and the falls and summers are beautiful. I'm also a fan of the changing seasons, even though winter is brutal here.. I grew up in the general area so it's nothing new to me. (though I grew up on a farm, and now live in a bigger city.) I do love having snow for Christmas.
What do you hate about where you live? the cliques... if you're new to the place, it can be hard to find friends since everybody has already settled into their cliques and they aren't interested in meeting new people (especially at my age.. late 30s.) I live in a fairly liberal, mixed city, so there isn't too much of a problem with close-mindedness towards diversity.. but in the surrounding more rural areas, that can be an issue depending on what your viewpoints are.
What do you take guests to eat when they visit your region? usually a mom-and-pop cafe or to an ethnic restaurant (lots of good african cuisine options here.)
@aerie_star My dream is to live near a train to a major city but in a beautiful, more rural part of the state. I've love to commute into a city for work and not have to drive, and I'd love just to be that close to the city if we can't live within one.
@mommytimesfour There's just so much to love about CA! I wish my family lived closer or I'd be looking for jobs there. Though they'd have to pay me a ton bc you're right, it's so expensive.
We live in Southern Louisiana.
What do you love about where you live? We have a lot of great festivals, great music, great food, and people are really into sharing their culture with anyone who shows up here and shows interest. I like not being too far from New Orleans (but still far enough it's a big deal to make a day trip). I love the little town we live in--we can walk to our (one block) downtown, and the bayou, and the people we know around here are nice.
What do you hate about where you live? I'm a NE gal in the south, so there are a LOT of things I hate about Louisiana politics--some obvious and some you might not expect. It's been 90+ degrees for nearly four months now, with no glimpse of fall in sight--I usually would say "I love the heat!" but I don't. I hate this. It's too much. I DO hate being cold more, but-- this is excruciating and terrible.
What do you take guests to eat when they visit your region? The thing about where we live is that just about every restaurant is good--and all the cajun/creole/Louisiana restaurants will have something they've never had before. Fried alligator or a crawfish boil or a muffalatta or po boys... etc. Our fave restaurant is this place in a larger town's downtown that does tapas. The cocktails and the dishes are always amazing.
With as much or little detail as you please, tell us where you live!
Portland, OR! We live pretty centrally — I can walk downtown and bike almost everywhere.
What do you love about where you live?
Ahh, everything? Close to skiing, close to the coast, great food, great beer, lots of nature and greenspace, people love being outdoors, disproportionately great transit to city size, blah blah blah it’s amazing.
What do you hate about where you live?
Nothing. Wish it was a little more diverse (whitest city in the US) and I get Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) if I don’t exercise and break out my happy lamp in the winter, but very little I don’t like about it.
What do you take guests to eat when they visit your region?
Brewery and food cart tour. Always something for everyone.
We live in Woodinville, WA. It’s about 20 min north of Bellevue or 30 min NE of Seattle.
What do you love about where you live? It’s gorgeous! The rain means lots of green, and the proximity to the mountains and ocean is wonderful. Our town used to be rural so there’s still lots of farms and large estates. There are over 100 wineries in our town as well.
What do you hate about where you live? It’s extremely expensive and the traffic is horrible. I lived in Seattle for 5 years and now I rarely go there because I hate dealing with traffic.
What do you take guests to eat when they visit your region? We take them to local wineries and breweries.
What do you love about where you live? We’re close to my parents, which rules cos *~free childcare~*. I’m generally proud of the choices and stances that my senators and representatives make/take. I was raised in New England (first Maine, then here) and I can’t imabine not having four seasons. I like them all! We used to live in NYC and it’s still relatively easy to get there. We have a lovely small house and a huge garden and an acre of land to play with.
What do you hate about where you live? The financial picture for the state generally and my town specifically is not awesome. Lots of debt due to underfunded pensions. Other than that, 🤷🏻♀️. It’s fine. If not for my family and our house, I’d rather live in Vermont or Maine, probably.
What do you take guests to eat when they visit your region? We mostly enjoy entertaining in our home — cooking delicious food, making a fire, that kind of thing. But there are leaves to be peeped and apples to be picked and lobsters to be eaten if people want to do that sorta thing.
OMG I'm so jealous of most of you!!! Y'all live in some fabulous places!
We currently live in a small town in North Dakota I'm from the Colorado Front Range and I'm dying to move back.
What do you love about where you live? no traffic, close-knit community, lake living at an affordable price, laid-back lifestyle
What do you hate about where you live? the general political climate, the food, how long the winters are, the ticks, the mosquitoes, bigotry, misogyny, camo, hunting ....
What do you take guests to eat when they visit your region? Um. Not much. The food here really does suck. If you don't like steak or fried food, you're out of luck.
@keeksie84 I’ve heard great things about Seattle! Definitely want to take a trip someday! Same with Colorado @stassischroeder !!
@mrsvp614 Kentucky Derby is on my domestic travel bucket list for sure!!
@treetop19 oh a white Christmas is a dream for us!!! So special!!
@kagesstarshroom freaking LOVE New Orleans!! Not a lot of places I’d travel to more than once (since there’s just so much world to see) but NOLA is def a must visit again!! I would not want to live there (tourists galore!) so it’s great you live outside of it but close enough to visit!
With as much or little detail as you please, tell us where you live! Orange County, California.
What do you love about where you live? The city we live in specifically is absolutely beautiful - tons of greenery, clean and SAFE. Great school system for LO. And of course, can’t beat the weather in SoCal. And so much to do! Cannot waaaaait to take LO to Disneyland 😆😆😆
What do you hate about where you live? Like @mommytimesfour mentioned, the cost of living! Crazy expensive (But not as expensive as some NorCal areas!). Also, TRAFFIC. It’s not as bad as LA traffic but it’s still pretty bad. Oh and fire season is near so that’s always worrisome for where we live.
What do you take guests to eat when they visit your region? In n out!! Duh!!!!
What do you love about where you live? I love our local moms group. I'm from NY and moved to NJ for DH and his job. We knew we were going to live in NJ longterm so I made an excel sheet of all the NJ towns with a reasonable commute to DH's job and the town we chose was the #1 of that list (most important factor being public school ranking). But the moms group here helped me make friends and I feel so lucky it's here. I had no clue about it when we picked the town, so that was dumb luck.
What do you hate about where you live? The commute to NYC and my mom in NY is a pain. It's really not THAT long (a little over an hour), but I hate it. Also even though the state is liberal overall, my town is very conservative. I've learned to not talk politics when I meet moms now.
What do you take guests to eat when they visit your region? Hm. I'm still learning my new town. There is a really awesome outdoor restaurant here and a cute farm-to-table place. We lived somewhere else in NJ for a year (DH for 9 years), so I know a lot of yummy restaurants there and it's only 30 away so sometimes I meet people there instead.
I
live in a suburb of Cincinnati, Ohio… where I grew up! The second I found out I
was pregnant with DD, I made plans to move back. Two years ago we bought a
house two doors down from my parents.
What
do you love about where you live? SUCH a good, family friendly community. The
schools are amazing and nationally ranked, and they always have activities and
festivals going on. It’s also really conveniently located to downtown and all
the other interesting areas.
What do you hate about where you live? I wish
the weather was better haha but I am biased right now because we are having a
prolonged summer. Generally, we have 4 seasons, which I like. I love where I live, so honestly I don’t hate much. Politically,
I’m conflicted. Ohio went for our nightmare current president but ALSO Obama
(my favorite). So I don’t know…
What do you take guests to eat when they visit
your region? We have a really famous BBQ place that’s great, but I don’t eat
meat… so… I take everyone always to the Cincinnati zoo. It’s amazing… and they
have food lol!
@keeksie84
I’ve never visited Seattle but desperately want to!
@miss.sally my BIL/SIL live in the suburbs of Pittsburgh. We were just there this weekend meeting my baby twin nieces! I love Pamela's Diner ha.
@EmilyLove25 I'm a vegetarian too. I oddly like going to BBQ places though bc I used to with my family in the south (back when I was a kid and ate meat), so I get nostalgic. I usually just get mac 'n cheese or whatever fatty non-meat food they have ha.
@stassischroeder, LOL.. I'm from ND too - Fargo actually. The food options here in town aren't too bad and the culture isn't either. As for me, I don't mind the hunting/camo thing.. it's a big family deal for my DH, and he has taught DD to hunt as well. She was so proud of herself this year during youth season for getting her own deer. (We travel back to our hometowns in western ND for hunting.) I don't hunt myself but I love to go along for the family get-together part of it. But I grew up in small town ND so I totally get what you're talking about.
@silverhope LOL OMG actually SAME here... I'm a vegan, so I can't have the Mac and Cheese, but I literally like going JUST for the Saratoga chips with BBQ sauce. SO GOOD haha!
With as much or little detail as you please, tell us where you live!
Toronto! Ontario, Canada
What do you love about where you live?
i love living in the most multicultural city in the world, I am very proud to be Canadian as well, though we are definitely far from perfect. DH and I recently moved to an “up and coming” neighborhood which is so awesome in some ways but has it’s cons. The best part is that I’m a 15-20 min drive from my parents, 10-15 min to work as well. We have gorgeous parks in our neighborhood and Toronto overall is a great city to live in. I grew up here. Plan is to move even closer to my parents and have a backyard space one day when we can afford their area. They will be babysitting after my mat leave - which is so great! I also love having all of the seasons!
What do you hate about where you live?
Affordability is a huge factor. Average homes in Toronto are close to a million dollars for something that typically is tiny and needs a lot of work. Lately there has also been an upswing if gun violence - Toronto historically has lower crime/violence compared to other North American cities of the same size. It’s more unsettling that lately no neighborhood is immune and it’s just happening everywhere. Everyone in our new neighborhood is so nice and there’s a feeling of community here, but it is still rough around the edges so we are excited for some new shops and whatnot to appear once a major transit project is complete. Also THE TRAFFIC!! I’ve experienced smaller city/town living and I do love it! If my family wasn’t here we may be in a smaller, more affordable area of the province.
What do you take guests to eat when they visit your region?
SO many amazing restaurants in Toronto, I can’t keep up! Lol! But some tried, tested and true restaurants are always a go-to.
I'd love to live in Fargo! You're right that the food options and culture are pretty good there. I don't mind camo if it's used for actual hunting, but I can't stand it as a decorating theme lol. I don't mind hunting if said hunters use the animal - eat the meat, use the hide, etc. But I can't stand trophy hunting. I understand that it's population control, but I also feel like kids should be taught to be respectful of the animals that they hunt.
I live in between Minot and Bismarck - so, full small-town mode
What do you love about where you live? Tons to do all year (except I don’t leave my house much in the summer because too hot), greattttt and growing food scene, around 30-40 minutes to the “attractions” if that’s your thing (it is not my thing), great state parks nearby and the best winters!
What do you hate about where you live? We daydream about moving to Maine every year from May to October. It is so forking hot in the summer here. Miserable. MISERABLE. And I would love to be closer to mountains. And just live somewhere with more than two seasons.
What do you take guests to eat when they visit your region? So many choices! We love 4rivers for bbq and Prato for a fancy Italian dinner and there are so many taco places I just wouldn’t know where to begin. Kelly’s for the best ice cream. Craft and Common for the best coffee. Lazy Moon for the best pizza. I’ll stop but so many yummy places!
With as much or little detail as you please, tell us where you live! Another Marylander here, born and raised!
What do you love about where you live? I live about halfway between DC & Baltimore so I get to take advantage of two amazing cities (don’t believe the lies about Baltimore y’all!) plus we have mountains, lakes, rivers, the BAY and the ocean. It’s really the best state in the union and I don’t ever plan on leaving (...don’t tell my husband).
What do you hate about where you live? The DC area has the 2nd worst traffic in the nation next to LA and I could do without the extreme cold and heat that sometimes happens, but I love having seasons and it could definitely be worse.
What do you take guests to eat when they visit your region? Maryland is famous for our blue crabs, so that’s a must if visiting in the summer. We have a really multicultural food scene in both cities so it’s great to find those authentic food trucks or hole in the wall places and get the real deal.
What do you love about where you live? I grew up here, and my parents and sister still live here. Having close family was really important to me and DH in choosing where to settle down. I also love that we’re close to a major city (with amazing free museums!) but also can easily get to “the country” and go to wineries, orchards, etc. Where we live specifically is a great little community that I also teach in. Also, I think growing up here makes you pretty attuned to politics and I (usually) enjoy feeling connected to all that.
What do you hate about where you live? ugh, the TRAFFIC, as @creativesoul83 said. Also, sometimes being so close to all the political action is draining, especially lately. Cost of living is also very high here.
What do you take guests to eat when they visit your region? The winery/brewery scene here is really awesome, but we’re also lucky being in such a diverse area that you can really get just about any cuisine you’d be into. We have a couple seafood places we adore that are good go-tos.
A lot of east coasters here! My first BMB has a ton of Seattle folks (next time I visit we need to meet up @keeksie84 ) so this is a change!
Where do you live? Omaha, Nebraska
what do you love about where you live? Small city living is great. My city is small enough that I can drive from my house to anywhere in 20 minutes, I always run into someone I know at my target/grocery store, cost of living is low, and I can tell a lot about you when you tell me what high school you went to. But it’s big enough to have diversity, culture, arts, great music, a growing food scene, and constant things to do. It’s a very family-friendly city with tons of things to do with kids. Plus, my parents and in-laws live here.
What do you hate about where you live? i hate that we don’t have mountains or ocean or even really lakes or forests. I hate that it takes FOREVER to get anywhere from here (closest big cities: Minneapolis, 6 hours away, Chicago, 8 hours away, or Denver, 9 hours away). You have to fly to get anywhere cool. We’re a purple dot in a red state and that can be both empowering and frustrating.
what do you take guests to eat when the visit? Steak, I guess? We’re known for beef. We have pretty decent restaurants of all kind. We have a lot of Nepali immigrants and one of my favorite spots recently is a pop-up momo shop in a brewery (momo are Nepali dumplings). Also, not food, but we have the best zoo in the country.
With as much or little detail as you please, tell us where you live!
A suburb about an hour south of Cleveland, OH.
What do you love about where you live? The best thing about Ohio is the fall. This time of year is beautiful and there is so much to do. Summer is also nice. DH and I both are born and raised here so living by family helps with childcare and is great for cookouts and holidays. I also like that we are a short drive to Cleveland where there is a ton to do. The cost of living here is also very affordable.
What do you hate about where you live? THE SNOW! In general I hate winter. This winter might be different bc I will be big pregnant in the cozy clothes but I just hate how it shuts down life. Also because everyone is always worried about winter coming (insert GoT joke here) everyone is rushed to do all the things from May to November. It puts a lot of pressure on a parent to make sure you are checking each seasonal box and taking lots of pictures.
What do you take guests to eat when they visit your region? We have a couple good dive bars that are known for burgers and pasta. In general a lot of food options depending on how far you want to drive. Recently there have been a lot of microbreweries popping up so those are great for some IPAs and yummy snacks
Ohhh man. This post is making my travel bug flare up!!!! Determined to travel with LO as soon as possible to get her/him use to car and airplane travel!!
@miss.sally I remember you saying that you're from around here. Redmond and Kirkland are both so beautiful. I, unfortunately, live in a less sexy suburb. I love it here though, I teach for the school district and love living in the same community as my students.
@mrsvp614 Cranberry Township is the cutest sounding place ever, lol!
@mommytimesfour I love where I live for the same reasons. Left coast love!!
@pdx2020 Oh man I love Portland. I'm going down there next month for work with my work wife and I can't wait to eat!! I'm pretty bummed that I can't drink while I'm there too.
@stassischroeder I've never been to ND, but some friends and I road tripped through SD and had a total blast! I do love steak and fried food, but I can see how that would get old.
@kantobean Do you visit regularly? We totally should! There ARE a ton of East Coasters...it was the same with my last BMB. I think the closest one to me was California last time.
This makes me want to travel more too! I need to try In & Out, and I love seafood, so New England and New Orleans would be awesome!
@miss.sally My dad hasn't lived there in 30+ years, and my grandparents have passed away, but I have two uncles and a cousin still there. My parents were just there this weekend, and next 4th of July we'll have a family reunion up there. I've always loved Pittsburgh!
Wow this is so fun to read through and makes me want to take a trip! Haha.
With as much or little detail as you please, tell us where you live!
I live just outside of Minneapolis, Minnesota!
What do you love about where you live?
So many things! I was born and raised here and think it’s a really special place. I love the change in season, how close we are to some pretty amazing spots in nature but also the city, fun restaurants and breweries, and a great music scene.
What do you hate about where you live?
I don’t mind winter, but I hate when it snows in April or May. Also, I hate when it’s so cold that it takes your breath away when you walk outside haha.
What do you take guests to eat when they visit your region?
We have a few local burger places that are really good and known for putting melted cheese inside of the burger patty. They are magical 😍 Also, one of our many great local breweries.
What a Fun Thread!! So many places I need to visit. I haven't been out west at all.
With as much or little detail as you please, tell us where you live! North Jersey. 20 mins (on a good day) from NYC.
What do you love about where you live? I am one of the few people I know who love living in Jersey. Only an hour from the beach and 20 mins from the city. I love my town. Lots of good restaurants and things to do (summer festivals, dinner under the stars, food truck festival, 15 mins from Metlife Stadium).
What do you hate about where you live? The cost of living!! It's pretty expensive to live in Jersey.
What do you take guests to eat when they visit your region? So many great restaurants locally as well as in the city. In my town we have a really great Italian place that I always recommend as well as several delicious Portuguese restaurants.
@stacey6689 there was an Army base closure back about 10 years or so ago that sent a bunch of people from the Fort Monmouth area down to Maryland (I used to work on the Army base here so I met many of the folks that got sent down). So many of them lived up in that area and were really sad to have to move - so you aren't the only one I think to like it!
With as much or little detail as you please, tell us where you live!
Richmond Va.
What do you love about where you live? DH has a good job, I love our house- even though I’m not crazy about the area. My mom has moved down here to be close to me which is probably my favorite thing because she and I are so close. When we were going out more there’s a ton of wineries, breweries, downtown bars.
What do you hate about where you live? Oh boy. Well, I’m a northern NJ transplant - so I miss having 4 seasons more than anything. It’s so incredibly hot and humid, summer is no fun because it’s so hot! I would pick up and move back up NJ in a minute, DH is actually completely on board with that so it’s hopefully that’s in our future!
What do you take guests to eat when they visit your region? There is an awesome local food scene down here. You have your choice is almost every type of food you could ever want.
@AAAG13 I asked my students today (in Louisiana) if they had ever been in a snowstorm--not one of them. I was like, "lucky ducks" though this neverending superhot summer we are having is KILLING ME. I don't miss snow.
@stacey6689 I'm originally from SOUTH jersey right outside Philly--this makes us mortal enemies or something, right?
Re: GTKY: Where are you located?
I love the weather; both the rain and our crazy beautiful, albeit short summers. I also love how compared with other parts of the country we're pretty liberal and ethnically diverse. I love how close we are to both mountains and oceans.
I hate how expensive it's getting to live around here and how many of my students' families are moving south to try to stay afloat. I'm also not a fan of the traffic.
When guests visit we eat a lot of seafood - especially salmon. There are also a ton of kid friendly breweries around here, so we go there for local beer...we love IPA around here.

What do you love about where you live? I’m 1.5 hours from the beach, the mountains and the snow. Anything you want to do is close by.
What do you hate about where you live? The expense!
What do you take guests to eat when they visit your region? In N Out Burger 🤪 or some bomb Mexican food which is very easy to find here!
We currently live in a small town in North Dakota
What do you love about where you live? no traffic, close-knit community, lake living at an affordable price, laid-back lifestyle
What do you hate about where you live? the general political climate, the food, how long the winters are, the ticks, the mosquitoes, bigotry, misogyny, camo, hunting ....
What do you take guests to eat when they visit your region? Um. Not much. The food here really does suck. If you don't like steak or fried food, you're out of luck.

I live in a suburb of Cincinnati, Ohio… where I grew up! The second I found out I was pregnant with DD, I made plans to move back. Two years ago we bought a house two doors down from my parents.
What do you love about where you live? SUCH a good, family friendly community. The schools are amazing and nationally ranked, and they always have activities and festivals going on. It’s also really conveniently located to downtown and all the other interesting areas.
What do you hate about where you live? I wish the weather was better haha but I am biased right now because we are having a prolonged summer. Generally, we have 4 seasons, which I like. I love where I live, so honestly I don’t hate much. Politically, I’m conflicted. Ohio went for our nightmare current president but ALSO Obama (my favorite). So I don’t know…
What do you take guests to eat when they visit your region? We have a really famous BBQ place that’s great, but I don’t eat meat… so… I take everyone always to the Cincinnati zoo. It’s amazing… and they have food lol!
@keeksie84 I’ve never visited Seattle but desperately want to!
@MrsVP614 Amy McGrath is my hope for KY!!!!
@kailanae We have such similar feelings about where we live… and I lived in MD for 6 years!!!
@pdx2020 OMG I want to go to Portland SO badly!!! Did you ever watch Portlandia?
@stassischroeder OMG that sounds awful… boo but yay for the lake. DH is from Colorado and desperately wants to go back all the time!

We live in Northern Virginia, so a suburb of DC.
We have a couple seafood places we adore that are good go-tos.

what do you love about where you live?
@miss.sally My dad hasn't lived there in 30+ years, and my grandparents have passed away, but I have two uncles and a cousin still there. My parents were just there this weekend, and next 4th of July we'll have a family reunion up there.

@stacey6689 I'm originally from SOUTH jersey right outside Philly--this makes us mortal enemies or something, right?
