i feel like i think of these and UO throughout the week... and then forget the good ones.

but i do have 2 food based ones:
    1. I got tuna tartare last weekend and it was worth every controversial raw tuna bite (also my ob ok's sushi once 2nd tri)
    2. I know the other week i discussed finding all the PSL drinks gross - but I had someone let me try the pumpkin cream cold brew from starbucks, and I'm putting my foot in my mouth b/c its kinda yummy.

I am currently eating my second breakfast. To be fair I barely slept all night and was starving but didn't want to chance the dogs barking and waking up DS and MH so I waited until MH alarm went off to eat breakfast #1.

@anniemarie887 I've eaten sushi periodically throughout.  The risk is food poisoning which would be detrimental,  it's not like alcohol which causes actual birth defects.  So I went for it,  it's been fine. I even had one raw oyster! Again,  a gamble but I felt knowing my sources that I wouldn't get sick and I didn't.

I mean I won't eat gas station sushi or sushi from questionable sources but good reputable sources with high quality fish I don't think are any more at risk for food borne illness than the local Chinese buffet that sits out for hours upon hours (setting aside the mercury risk which is just about knowing your fish and which are at lower risk for mercury).  I think it's about knowing the risk and mitigating what risk we can, without resorting to a bread and water diet.  Same with lunch meat.  Most recent outbreaks of listeria have been on fresh veggies not in lunch meat.  I've had the occasional turkey sandwich and I don't feel bad about it.

@Stac928 100% with you on this.

I’ve gotten my usual veggie rolls a couple times and shrimp poke bowls too. I can’t stomach anything raw currently but if you’ve been eating at these sushi places for years and never got sick I feel like that’s a good sign the place is clean and trustworthy.

I've been craving sushi so hard lately. I'm thinking about going to my fave sushi restaurant and getting cooked or all veggie sushi as soon as I know I can keep it down 😁

Another topic resenting the person or people throwing you a baby shower. Most of the people involved in hosting mine are great. But my dad is kinda an a**whole 80% of the time. He is driving me nuts!!! He called me 3 times today asking questions. I'm not supposed to be planning my own baby shower and I'm tired of being put in the middle.

    My (first!) FFFC...I don't like sushi.  :#

I mean, it's fine, and I'll eat it, especially if the fish has been cooked or there's no fish, but I'm NEVER the one to suggest getting sushi. And I like pretty much all food.

@ninrms - i do not like sushi either. Different than you in that I won’t even stomach it.
if someone says they want to go for sushi I just excuse myself.

@ninrms @mecoats I don’t like sushi either. We used to go to a Japanese place that apparently had the best sushi and I would do shrimp tempura while everyone else did sushi. Raw fish and the seaweed really gross me out 🤢

@ninrms  @k_mama91 I also do not like sushi...I think it smells like seaweed which is so disgusting to me! BARF

@blueskychicago12 - I don't think that's odd at all. It sounds very similar to what my husband and I do. Heck, until recently we would usually divide up the cart and buy our own groceries. I think the whole concept of "wifely household duties" is extremely old school and that most people don't live that way anymore. Maybe a generational thing? My husband married me knowing I would never do the dishes. Ever. We still have a happy relationship.

@mrszoobear I agree!  But I find that a lot of my friends, even those who I consider to be progressive in other ways, wanted husbands who would take on more of a provider role (even though they work themselves) while they do the majority of the household chores.  I'm all for any couple doing what makes them happy, but for me, it's really important to have an equal partnership.

@blueskychicago12 I do a lot of the cooking but just because I’m better at it. It’s not divided by gender (his mom is a shit cook, mostly because she eats like a picky toddler). He’s learning and loves to help when he can but he needs very specific instructions/recipes. Otherwise chores are pretty evenly split. I think our new elderly neighbors are horrified that I even mow the lawn sometimes lol. But really we divide up pretty evenly and there are few things that are mostly one person based on skill level (cooking, fixing things—he’s in construction. He is just better at tools than me lol).

@blueskychicago12 my husband was still professional chefing when we got together (he cooked at Acadia, Greenriver,  Schwa) but he's not any more.  Some nights he'll do some elaborate chef business at home but honestly usually we just fend for ourselves.  He really likes hotdogs and sausages,  I like veggie burgers. We also both like smoothies but with different ingredient preferences.  Sometimes I cook for him but its always simple stuff like chili, or asian noodles.

We both clean, but there's no set schedule or tasks.  I prefer doing laundry because I'm pickier about how it's done.  I'm the primary breadwinner and he will be a stay at home dad after I return to work after 8 wks.

@bookworm492 I think that's really awesome that your husband will be a stay at home dad!

Ok, so a few days ago I was feeling really frisky and my usual tried and true methods weren't *ahem* satisfying, so I decided to try something different and watch some porn. Instead I accidentally became fascinated with the videos of weird shit some women are putting in their vaginas. It's like the porn equivalent of watching car crash or pimple popping videos I guess. Some examples include the rod of a curling iron, a bedpost, a whisk, a literal eggplant, and a wine bottle!  And of course in a lot of those cases my mind went to "well, she probably wouldn't need an epidural!" :D

@CapricaAndrea omg I'm laughing so hard at this!!! A literal eggplant lol

@CapricaAndrea wins on posting this week. I may need to google this... can you imagine if the curling iron was on?! 😳

@CapricaAndrea I love your post!! There is some WEIRD stuff on the internet, and I love that your first thought is about an epidural.  :D

@anniemarie887 Get out of my head!! That's exactly what I thought, too!!!

@anniemarie887 @ninrms How did your mind not go to the bed post?! I can’t even 😂

LOL I guess "epidural" works too but what I meant to type was episiotomy. I guess either one applies!
