@midgerose86 that’s so funny- today the cashier at the grocery store did the same thing to me! She asked me about how far along I was, and when I said 7 months, she said, “Well, you’re not quite in the home stretch yet. Hang in there!” Like she thought I was much further along...sigh 😕
@anniemarie887@k_mama91 I *love* the much-cooler temps we get where we live! We also suffer through long periods of -10 and colder (often down to -40!), but I'll take it to avoid that really hot stuff!
Also, never heard of closing school early for heat! That makes sense--probably dangerous to keep kids in a stuffy box with no air! I hope everything cools off for you all soon...
@ninrms i will pass on the -40. we had the polar vortex thing last year, and our pipes actually froze in our house.
but yes, sadly baltimore still uses some really really old buildings for some of the schools that need replaced/renovated for lack for AC, asbestos, lead paint etc. i would say there are typically 1-3 days each year they close early due to heat.
@ninrms I’m passing on that too, we had a long stretch of single digits last winter and oh my lord it was miserable. Id love to be wearing cardigans and booties vs sandals and shorts right now though!
I'm really hoping for no polar vortex this year. I'm a little worried about being cooped up with the baby this winter. It would be nice to take her out for walks but that obviously won't be possible if it's frigid all the time.

25 weeks.... the summer of elastic shoes shirts and shorts.
But also, I’m gonna spam you with one of our prof photos from NM that I got back. 😍
