I asked this in WTO but figured this might be a better spot. Let’s all fantasize about the long weekend ahead (apologies for those that don’t get a long weekend.) What’s everyone up to? Any fun plans?

@tyrion_ We’re going to go visit my sister and BIL in Michigan! My parents are coming too so it should be fun. We found out last night that the dog can’t come so I’m a little sad he won’t get to swim his little heart out in the lake their house is on like he did last year, but I understand why. They’re in the process of selling their house so this will be the last time we get to hang out on their lake 😢

I'm going to my parents lake house about 45 minutes away from Friday to Sunday AM, then I am leaving and driving back towards and past my house for a total of a 2 hour drive to my husbands aunts house for a family cook out. Oh and DH is working all weekend so I am doing this solo *TW* with my 2.5 year old *end TW*. I am not looking forward to the driving and being around DH's family by myself. DH has Monday off, so I think we will just stick around home, not sure what we will do yet.

AFM, we are heading down to SW Florida to stay at the beach. I’m excited for a little getaway.

I will be attending a wedding this Saturday. Still need to finish the alterations on my dress or else chose a different one. We will be flying to said wedding and staying in the area for 10 days. Camping will happen next Tuesday after some visiting with family. ***TW*** have to pack for my DD who is almost 23 months, myself and maybe even DH, a little bit anxious. I have never flown with a child before, so I am super nervous about how she is going to react to flying for the first time***end TW*** Its going to be a busy time.

We don't have any firm plans, although I need to ask my SiL if she wants to do a training run for a 5k we have coming up. It's one I wouldn't have chosen to sign up for, because it's a trail run up a local hill (485 ft elevation) but it's part of my local race series.  

My BiL runs it fairly regularly and told me and his wife that if we don't at least prepare for it we'll probably die haha. I just don't feel comfortable running through the woods by myself (even though I went out and got my pepper spray this weekend @shamrocandroll ), so I'm going to see if SiL wants to do it with me, since she's on the hook for this 5k too.

I will be home alone all weekend & will be using the time to sleep, also sleep, and sleep, further, sleep... but also probably to sleep.

Every one sounds like they have fun plans! We are going camping a couple hours away in a little tourist town for Thursday night and Friday night. Then when we get home Saturday, H works the rest of the weekend (Sat night, Sunday, and Monday). So I will try to get some projects done around the house. Anyone have any organization tips??

Sounds like lots of good plans around here, traveling & not! We have a mix...we’re going to try and pressure wash the house on Saturday (sounds like a blast, I know), and then we’re going to a cookout at the IL’s on Sunday (which will be way more fun)!! I’m mostly just looking forward to a few days off work!

@whatsbumpinpumpkin I painted (stained) our porch last weekend, and painted shutters and front door. Do you know what color etc you are going to do yet? I want to paint everything now lol. Always looks good after a fresh coat.

Oh good gravy. I was sitting outside my office for my lunch, minding my own business, knitting, as one does. It's a very sunny day here, and as I'm sitting on the stone wall, I hear a loud thwack, almost like a shot. I look over, and a bird has hit the one of the office windows and has now completed its' circle of life. 🤢 Ughhhhhh. I don't even like birds and that was sad!

While everyone is enjoying cooler weather and PSLs I’m over here tracking hurricanes and praying my beach weekend doesn’t get ruined. 

Love my parents so much but will never understand why they settled their lives in this state.

@tyrion_ that's how I feel about my ancestors when winter hits New England. Whyyy? Although, summer and fall here are great so I really shouldn't complain. 

My weekend is going to be pretty low key which works for me. Girls' Night at my friend's on Friday, then Saturday we're getting takeout and watching Netflix because we know how to party. I am going to try to finish my library book before school starts again. 
ETA I will probably bake some back to school treats for my coworkers, too.

I have to work this weekend. So it’ll probably be BSC because the bank will be closed Monday. I’ll visit some friends Sunday and probably cook out with the in-laws Monday! 
Also a basic B here. I love it all. I bought my first fall scented scentsy wax today and I’m sure my husband will looove it. 😂

@emeraldduchess I am in Vermont, so right there with you! I have to say, being able to work from home has really made me enjoy winter a lot more. 

I redid our master bedroom after work yesterday (painted, bought new art for the walls, cleaned out) and I cleaned out our shed today after work, and weeded the front garden, which was super over grown.  I have SO much energy these days. I truly hated the seafoam green that was in our master when we moved in.

@nitnat007 I am painting it this color! The rest of my house is a light yellow, so I thought the purple grey would be a nice contrast. It's a screened front porch that runs the length of the house. My house is from 1901 with a slate roof, stone foundation etc, so I feel like we are always doing something for it.

@whatsbumpinpumpkin That is going to look great! And love that green too. Our house is pale yellow too. I redid our shutters and front door bright blue. We still have to tackle the foundation, but that is next years project.

@nitnat007 oooohh... those shutters look so nice!  Color looks similar to the one mine USED to be and desperately need to be done.  Could I ask what color/brand you used?

MH was a little resistant when I first started, but now that it is done he loves it.

Everyone's plans sound great!  I am so so grateful to have this week off!!!! So idk if the "long weekend," will have anything else going on in particular, besides the continuation and long "Sunday night" of this little staycay...


But I love seeing all this industriousness around the house!  We have had a kinda big project looming over us which is our overflowing spare room... And I am terrible about going through things.  I just get perhaps more emotionally attached to stuff than most people and it makes it hard for me to get rid of anything / take forever just to go through things.  So lucky for me, he's been powering through most of the heavy lifting, and saving certain things for me to chime in and help get the job done.  Best of both worlds.

<div class="Spoiler">The guest room was all set up and waiting so my mom could come visit us/the baby from out of state.  So it's just been this extra painful reminder that the reason it's been all but completely dis-used, is bc she's not here.  Watching her first birthday fast-approaching has brought up all those feelings again, about milestones and such she should be here to see, and she's not. 😢</div>
But anyway the goal is to finish going through my mom's things, get things properly stored etc., and ultimately have a nice, big functional walk-in closet I can also sew in! 👐

I have nothing going on this weekend.... Except taking care of my neighbor's cats.

DH has taken to sending me a text message saying "whoa! There's a hottie next door!" Every evening when I go over there since we have sight of their driveway and from door from our living room windows. 😆

wtf guys... I'm going through a friend's registry and I spotted this. When TF has the suggested retail price of a 6qt instant pot every been 400 DOLLARS?!?!
