  • @mandk1233 we have gotten better at it over the years. Making the bedtime routine as close to home is key for us! And white noise machines.

Baby movements are my favorite part of being pregnant. Such a cool feeling
  • EDD/W+D: 2/2; 16+1

    Team: Blue

Baby is the size of a(n): chipmunk

Upcoming appts: therapist today, 9/3 endo, 9/13 full anatomy scan

How are you feeling?: emotionally better, but I've had really intense pain in my left butt cheek (like I'm limping most of the time) and sometimes my lower back, afraid it's the sciatic nerve. Going to give it a few more days to see if it subsides, hoping I just pulled something, before calling my dr about it

    Rants/Raves:
Rant: will the stuffy nose ever go away? Will I be a mouth breather forever?
Rave: picked a name this weekend!

Questions: I've read different things on baby registry etiquette. Thoughts on putting "big ticket" items on the registry (namely stroller/carseat and ?maybe? Highchair)?

GTKY: As summer is winding down, what is your favorite part of summer? Honestly, I don't really like summer (def a fall/winter person) so my fave part is it being over 😂
  • @bg122785 congrats on getting a dishwasher! Havent had one in 6 years and can only imagine what a nightmare 9 years must be like.

@taylor2020 I would imagine you would at least want to tell your boss/hr soonish, I think it's pretty commonly communicated in the first half of trimester 2. If you don't feel particularly close with any of your coworkers, then personally I wouldnt bother telling them. Theyll figure out eventually on their own. I personally told my manager pretty early on and my coworkers shortly after bc I didnt want to seem like I was being lazy for not wanting to carry heavy things or for taking frequent bathroom breaks.
  • @pinkiswhereallofitstarts I definitely put big ticket items on there and all of them were purchased (travel system, high chair, pack n play, even our nursery furniture). I was so thankful for it. If people don’t want to buy the more expensive things, they definitely don’t have to (or buy anything for that matter) but some people really love giving in that way. If you don’t put it on, they may just assume you don’t need it. So I say do it!
  • @pinkiswhereallofitstarts, definitely put the big ticket items on the registry! Nobody has to buy them but sometimes groups of people like to go in together for them. Also, depending on where you register you sometimes get things like coupons to complete your registry so you can buy it yourself or other incentives like that.
  • EDD/W+D: 2/5/20 / 16 weeks

    Team: Pink

Baby is the size of a(n): Avocado

Upcoming appts: Friday! Hoping the doc will do an US so I can see if my placenta has moved any. It’s probably too early to tell anything, but here’s hoping!

How are you feeling?: Decent. I’ve had some random moments of nausea again, and my lower back gets sore. But otherwise, doing ok. We just got back from a vacation in the country. It was fun and nice to get away from everything!

Rants/Raves: Rant is the amount of work email I have to catch up on since going on vacation. Rave is that my two oldest boys started school this week and their days went great!

    Questions: none

GTKY: As summer is winding down, what is your favorite part of summer? I love warm (even hot) weather. I hate having to bundle kids up in the winter. Summer is easy - throw on some shorts and slip on shoes and we are off!
  • @mandk1233 sorry to hear about your migraine. I’ve gotten one twice in my life and I seriously felt like I was dying. Hope you’re feeling better, as I know it can take a couple of days to truly recover from those.

@taylor2020 I am 16 weeks and haven’t told my work yet. It’s mainly because my boss travels a lot and there hasn’t been a good time. Plus, I had a baby fairly recently, so I am nervous about the reactions. When are you planning to tell them?

@bg122785 yay for your new dishwasher!!

@lanie1000 this is my fourth pregnancy and it’s kicking my butt too. I’m also wondering if it is because I’m older or something? I tend to think it’s probably luck of the draw. Ugh.

@kmj1426 have fun on your camping trip!!

@tashia5587 hopefully you feel movement soon! I have been trying so hard to feel movement, but no dice except maybe the occasional flutter which is probably just gas.

@pinkiswhereallofitstarts sorry about your stuffy nose. I had rhinitis with my first pregnancy and it freakin sucked. I had to do the humidifier and Vick’s vapo rub every night just to fall asleep. I’m sure MH thought that was super attractive.

@kcalille95 glad you are starting to feel better!
  • EDD/W+D: February 7th!

    Team: Finding out FRIDAYYYY

Baby is the size of a(n): yellow canary

Upcoming appts: elective gender scan on the 23rd, routine checkup on the 26th

How are you feeling?: finally getting a bit of an appetite back

Rants/Raves: so over being bloated this early on lol

    Questions:

GTKY: As summer is winding down, what is your favorite part of summer? I love being able to take my sons to the park, but I’m so happy the heat is going away
  • EDD/W+D: February 5th / 16 weeks

Team: finding out (in September) guessing pink because I’ve been so sick!

Baby is the size of a(n): avocado

Upcoming appts: this afternoon for 16 week checkup and anatomy scan mid September

How are you feeling?: still feel a little sick after eating but, looking back over the summer, my sickness has come a long way. Back pain is flaring up. Going to try and start exercising again to manage it.

Rants/Raves: the school year has started for my son and the new routine is going great!

    Questions:

GTKY: As summer is winding down, what is your favorite part of summer? I love our annual trip to an amusement park. It’s really our only vacation every year and lots of fun memories are always made. I also do lots of parks and swimming with the kids and enjoy the lazy attitude that comes with summer.
  • EDD/W+D: 2/1/20, 17+2

Team: finding out (24 days, no I’m not counting 🙈)

Baby is the size of a(n): pomegranate

Upcoming appts: 9/18 for anatomy scan and gender reveal!

How are you feeling?: overall, I feel a lot better! Less sick, more energy, my boobs hurt less so I can run and exercise! I have started to get round ligament pain that’s waking me up in the middle of the night which is very annoying.

Rants/Raves: RANT-stomach pain waking me up in the middle of the night. I know it’s normal, I’d just really like to sleep through the night while I can. RAVE- got my maternity pillow this week and I am loving it! I don’t think it is the best one I could have bought, but they sent me the wrong size so they refunded me my money and I got to keep the pillow for free, saving $50!

    Questions: none

GTKY: As summer is winding down, what is your favorite part of summer? Favorite part of summer....that it’s finally almost over? Honestly, I hate summer and am so ready for cooler weather (especially winter!! My favorite season ❄️😍), but if I had to pick something, I do love a good summer thunderstorm.
  • @kmj1426 @jvk2012 thanks for the feedback on the registry. I had always thought that's what registry were for, but a few articles I read were like "it's rude to put big ticket items in your registry if not everyone (who will be looking at the registry) will be able to afford them." But they also didn't bring up the fact that multiple people may chip in to buy a large gift that on their own wouldn't be in the budget- so thanks for pointing that out.

@therealbitts I'm sure a humidifier would do wonders for me at night, but I think I would need a heavy duty one lol, the way our studio is set up our bed is about 4 feet from the a/c unit. Fortunately, I think that it's almost cold enough to pop the windows open at night and we shouldn't be in this apartment too much longer. MH has allergies most of the time also, so we make a very cute, very gross couple these days. Should buy stock in Kleenex at this rate 😂. Glad to hear that you aren't suffering from it this go round tho!
