@taylork2020 I have the sonoline b Doppler and it’s been easy for me to find if you know the difference between what the baby’s heart sounds like vs your own. You pick up lots of different sounds in there but the baby’s is very distinct (kind of sounds like a horse galloping). YouTube videos helped me when I first used one. You need ultrasound gel or aloe Vera to listen.

@kmj1426 that’s the one I’m looking at getting! Thank you for your input, I think I’m going to get it. I think it’ll help offer peace of mind when my anxiety picks up. Plus, it would be really neat for family to hear it, especially my husbands family when we go home in a couple months.

    EDD/W+D: 15 wks

    Team: pink!

Baby is the size of a(n): naval orange

Upcoming appts: just a regular checkup on 8/22

How are you feeling?: absolutely amazing!! (Which is why I’m finally back here) It happened overnight and I’m so thankful to not be feeling like soggy death anymore.

Rants/Raves: just going to rave some more about how great I’m feeling! I even have a ton of energy! This is a miracle ladies. Ok I’ll shut up now.

Questions: anyone else still nursing? My midwife said it’s common to lose your supply around 20 weeks...any of y’all who’ve nursed through previous pregnancies mind sharing your experience?

GTKY: What are you watching on Netflix (or Hulu, etc.) right now? The FBI files right now (I’m on a true crime kick right now for some reason) but I really liked Siren which I just finished.

    Team: Pink

Baby is the size of a(n): Peach

Upcoming appts: August 23, but will likely get moved up due to placenta previa diagnosis

How are you feeling?: I’m not in a good place this morning. I posted on the Questions thread yesterday that I had to visit the ER yesterday due to bleeding. They diagnosed me with placenta previa, and said I had bacteria in my urine sample. I’m on pelvic rest and waiting for my OB to call for an appointment. I know that there is a high percentage this will resolve on its own, but I’m feeling really worried and down about it. The risks are so scary. I’m trying very hard to stay positive and not let this take the joy out of my last pregnancy.

Rants/Raves: See above for Rant. Rave is that this is a short week for me at work - we are going out of town for a long weekend later this week and I’m looking forward to getting away.

Questions: I was going to ask about Dopplers and brands others use. Thanks for the suggestion above!

GTKY: What are you watching on Netflix (or Hulu, etc.) right now? Stranger Things and Bachelor in Paradise!

@therealbitts there is a sale on Dopplers until August 15th on Baby Doppler. Just got mine for 49.95, free two day shipping 😊

@taylork2020 sweet! Thanks for the tip! I was looking for it on amazon and didn’t see it. Off to check this site...

@taylork2020 I have one and I love it! I only have a YouTube education on how to use it but I’ve never had issues finding baby’s hb amidst all the other noise. It’s really cool to hear how much they move too.

@jynjer91 thank you, that helps me a lot. I ordered one that should be here on Thursday, so here’s hoping I have the same luck as you 😊

@taylork2020 That is so exciting about your trip and the shower your MIL is planning.

@jynjer91 isn't it crazy how fast things turn around? Suddenly about 2 weeks ago I had energy again and I almost didn't know what to do with myself.

@therealbitts Yay another Bachelor fan! Though Paradise is the only one I don't actually watch. I watched season 1 and just can't with it, so I just read spoilers and leave it at that. 😂

@bg122785 So sorry your husband is sick. Hopefully he'll be better soon.

    AFM...

EDD/W+D: Feb 1 I saw my OB today and I guess my due date hasn't actually changed. I just have a big baby.

    Team: Green

Baby is the size of a(n): navel orange (based on the old, modified due date)

Upcoming appts: Sept 6 for my anatomy scan and Sept 12 for my next check-up

How are you feeling?: Really good. Still having to pee a fair amount but it turns out the baby is sitting on my bladder, so no wonder. My brother told me the baby has a water bed now. 🤣

Rants/Raves: Rant - round ligament pain started in earnest over the weekend, but my OB can prescribe a support belt once I get a bit bigger so that's good. Raves - not pregnancy related, but I finally got my official job offer and start in 2 weeks. For preggo things, we heard the baby's heartbeat at my appointment today and it was going strong at around 144 bpm. My bump also popped over the last week and a half. We got together with MH's family over the weekend for our niece's birthday and my FIL and both of MH's brothers were commenting. It was funny though because it was always prefaced with, "please tell me if this is rude..." I was not at all offended, just glad to be past the awkward looking like I ate too much phase. Plus I am a small person with a short torso, so I figured I would be showing early.

    Questions:

GTKY: What are you watching on Netflix (or Hulu, etc.) right now? The Good Wife. Over the winter my husband and I were watching Scrubs together, but that is on hold while the weather is nice.

@lanie1000, My DD was 2 in June and starting in early July sleep was a shit show. We may be turning the corner now. Hope I don’t jinx it! I feel your pain.

@mandk1233 @therealbitts I’m a closet bachelor fan! Have to watch it on the dl so I don’t get made fun of lol
  • Options
@jynjer91 😂 I totally get made fun of too, though less so since I moved out of my parents' house. My husband just shakes his head at me and leaves the room.

@mandk1233 and @jynjer91 I totally got my husband hooked on it a few years ago. He likes to pretend he’s not that interested, but he certainly appears to enjoy watching and talking about what happens on the next episode. He doesn’t fool me 😆

    I loveeee the bachelor too!

So speaking of the Bachelor... Last week I was listening to Jade and Carly's podcast where Jade shared the birth story of delivering her son in their closet. I was bawling by the end and telling my baby it better not scare me like that, but also I am slightly freaked out about getting to the hospital on time now. Now I think I probably shouldn't listen to birth stories or watch birth videos. 🙄

@therealbitts I saw your update yesterday and have been thinking of you ever since. In pregnancy we can try to do everything perfectly, but there is so much that is out of our control. I'm so glad you have a short work week and that you are going out of town. Hang in there!

@malloryfrommn thank you so much for your kind words! That really does mean a lot to me. ❤️ You are so right about things being out of our control. Sometimes life has other plans. I’m just trying to stay positive (and off of Google).

@mandk1233 Thanks girl. Just going through a rough patch, but he is going to see a specialist, so hopefully he will have answers sooner than later.

@therealbitts That sounds scary so it makes sense that you are worrying. For some encouragement: My mom was born at 34 weeks in the early 60's because my grandma had placenta previa. She spent about a month in the NICU, but otherwise was totally fine. Just think how much further medical technology has come in the last 50 years.

Also, don't Google the things if you can avoid it. Dr. Google likes to make everything sound horrible which just adds to the anxiety.

Sending so many love and hugs your way.

    EDD/W+D: 2/1 15+5

Team: finding out and anxiously waiting...

Baby is the size of a(n): avocado 🥑

    Upcoming appts: 8/22

How are you feeling?: definitely starting to feel back to my old self except for a few random symptoms here and there (joint pain, headaches, heartburn)

Rants/Raves: rave- at the beach for a week with my hubs’ family and next week we’ll spend most of the week at the beach with my family! I’m also slightly starting to pop and am just waiting for it to fully pop so I don’t look so awkwardly chunky! Rant- although I love being at the beach with family, I get SO tired, especially of interacting with other people since I usually spend most days by myself. Not that anyone is bothering me or that I’m having a bad time, I’m just so sleepy and need some down time for myself.

    Questions: none right now

GTKY: What are you watching on Netflix (or Hulu, etc.) right now? Handmaid’s Tale, The Good Place, Last Chance U, and the usual background rotation of Friends, The Office or Parks and Rec!

@mandk1233 thank you so much! ❤️ Positive stories are super helpful for me right now! I hope I feel better after meeting with my doctor. The waiting is hard...
  • Options
@therealbitts Of course it is. ❤️ Also hoping that the doctor can help set your mind at ease.

EDD/W+D: New due date is February 7th!

Team: finding out on August 23rd!

Baby is the size of a(n):beet

Upcoming appts: August 26th with my baby doc but I have a gender ultrasound at a private clinic on The 23rd

How are you feeling?: still pretty sick and tired. No real appetite

    Rants/Raves: I want to eat again 😅

Questions: this is my third pregnancy so I’m good lol

GTKY: What are you watching on Netflix (or Hulu, etc.) right now? Trying to finish OITNB

Hey y'all, late reply, but better than never I guess.
    EDD/W+D: 2/2; 16 weeks

    Team: Blue

Baby is the size of a(n): chipmunk

Upcoming appts: Endo visit 9/3 and full anatomy scan 9/13 (!)

How are you feeling?: Better, mostly "normal" but baby brain is starting to set in so I've just been staring into space recently trying to remember what I was going to do 10 sec ago

Rants/Raves: Rant- school started again this week for me and ugh, just don't want to add anything else to my plate right now but I gotta get this degree so I can get a proper adult job
Rave- met another of the OBs in the practice this week and really liked him- really nice and positive. Also! TSH is almost normal!!! Down from almost 12 to almost 4 in 4wks 🙏🙏🙏 And finally, have mostly convinced my husband that moving back down to Atlanta where our family is after having the baby is a much better idea than trying to stay up in NY without a support system. Good week overall!

    Questions:

GTKY: What are you watching on Netflix (or Hulu, etc.) right now? Finally catching up on The Crown and the new season of Dark.
