2017. This was the first dress I put on (tried on many others but they didn’t compare.) It has the prettiest, most unique peach/blush color to it and it matched my skin tone perfectly. I was and still am completely in love 💕
2012, at the tender age of 22. I wanted a dress with a sash, just like the one from the movie Bride Wars. I saw this one on the rack and knew it was perfect.
@mandk1233 I love the detailing at the top. Happy upcoming anniversary!
@taylork2020 you definitely pulled off the blush! I wanted a more champagne color, but my friends found mine on the sales rack for only $100, so I couldn’t pass it up even if it was bright white!
@babylawyer I love the froofy bottom part of your dress! The top photo is so picturesque 😍
@bg122785 I’m glad you had so much fun! I honestly don’t want to relive mine because I was basically having one long anxiety attack. Too many people! If I had to redo it, I would significantly cut down the guest list.
@jvk2012 I love that your mom made your dress! I like how the top criss-crosses.
@noxacanthus I love that you were inspired by that movie! Did it come with that color blue or is that how you ordered it?
@malloryfrommn I love the straps on your dress. I think mine was sort of a trumpet silhouette as well. We also put our own bouquets and boutonnières together after ordering fresh flowers in bulk.
@brookert615 I can’t really see any dress details on my phone, but that looks like a very long a beautiful veil.
Eh I’m already showing my face around here and the birdcage veil was my favorite part! I wore my dress “off the rack” and got it on clearance for less than $1k. I also did all my own flower arrangements with Whole Foods flowers and dried accents from Michael’s. Sept 2014 at 26.
Here are the best photos of my dress, none of the wedding ones show the close up details! But I included one from the day of anyway because it's my fave picture ever. My mom made the veil for her wedding and wanted me to wear it for my wedding as well! We got married May 2019! Yay newlyweds!
Well I got married in 2009 in the courthouse a few weeks before DH deployed so I didn’t wear a fancy dress for that. In 2011 (23 years old and 15 weeks pregnant) DH and I had the church ceremony and reception.
May 2016. The day was fun but kind of a blur. Honestly, I would have rather eloped, and I will NEVER do another big wedding again. I hated almost every minute of planning thanks to my husband and mother having very different views of how it should be done. Other than that, I loved my dress and loved my tiara even more!
@therealbitts I LOVE your brooch bouquet! I tried making one for my wedding and it turned out more like a 50/50 flower/brooch mix. It was beautiful but not what I imagined. Yours turned out stunning!
Awww, I was away all weekend and didn't have cell service or internet, so I'm a little late to this party. I do have to say, I love all of yours! This is such a great idea for a GTKY. Here's my late share.... best part about my dress? It had POCKETS!
So I was on a knee scooter and in a boot still recovering from foot surgery and unable to bear weight on my right foot when we got married. I asked my mom to make me a super poofy tulle skirt and a pink sash, and I brought a few tops with me and decided what top to wear the day before the wedding. It was a cheap dancer’s leotard and a cheap Amazon swim coverup 😂 I wore black leggings underneath so I wouldn’t flash anyone in the “feats of strength” my husband did to size each other up before the vows, then discarded the skirt soon after the ceremony so I could roll around unimpeded.
I apparently don’t have have a lot of wedding pictures on my phone but I found the this one! 2013! The dress cost me $192 taxes in and $50 for alterations!!
Here’s mine! We got married in 2015. These photos are from when I tried the dress on but they’re the best close ups. I so didn’t want a strapless dress but when I put it on it was “the one”! Hey I guess when you know, you know lol. Sadly, I did not get a great deal on this like so many of y’all did but I loved it so I didn’t care (edit: typos!)
@nhh11 I was also not planning on strapless until I tried on my dress. 🤷♀️ Our dresses have very similar silhouettes, though you wouldn't be able to tell that from the picture I posted.
Re: GTKY wknd edition- Wedding Dresses!
The back had corset style laces, much to my mom's dismay when she discovered that zippers are now a thing on wedding dresses.

These two you let you see the lace on the dress best. It’s Pronovias. Our wedding was back in 2013.
Everyone looks so gorgeous and so different! It’s making me want to have my vows renewed.
