Hey ladies! So I have a two year old who is just perfect. My husband and I stopped being careful in July and shockingly got pregnant immediately. I wasn't due for my period for a few days but started taking tests and all negative (up until a day before my period was due). I've always been of the mindset of "drink until it's pink" but now that I did, I'm nervous and regret it. I had maybe 2-3 drinks for a couple of days in a row before my positive. All spread out, with food and water, nothing heavy (wine and then mimosas one day). I stopped of course once I got the positive. I even talked to my OB and my primary care doctor, and they both said they are not worried at all because of the timing. I still can't shake it. I guess I'm just venting but if anyone has any words of encouragement I'd appreciate it. Thank you.

Re: Nervous about "drink before pink"
women get super drunk before they realize they are pregnant and stop and have perfectly healthy babies.
Anecdotally, a false positive confirmed by a negative blood test made me think I was out until my next cycle. I drank quite a few times while WFAF but ended up getting a BFP at 18 DPO. My OB said it’d be fine. I’m 34 weeks now and so far, so good.
Your baby is feeding off of your uterine lining until such time as the placenta implants, around 6 weeks. Once it is feeding from the placenta, it is sharing your food source. Until that point, the alcohol you are drinking isn't getting to or affecting the baby, unless you are so drunk that your organs start shutting down, in which case the baby would be the least of your concerns. Because you would be on death's door.
If you drank a few times between when you ovulated and when you got a positive test, assuming you got your positive test prior to 6 weeks or so (which most people who are actively TTC will), you are fine, as your doctor said. In fact, i got this information from a friend of mine who is an OBGYN. This is why your doctor says to not worry about it. Because you don't have to worry about it.
(insert "the more you know" gif, but i'm at work right now and everything fun is blocked).
