I have my dating/viability ultrasound coming up on Monday! It's been a bummer not knowing my EDD since I can't participate in the EDD-based check-in threads etc. Hoping to see a happy little bub in there!
@kailanae I'm in the same boat! I don't know my EDD, so I'm not sure which thread to participate in yet. My dating/viability/early U/S are all on August 14th and I feel like that day cannot get here soon enough!
@kailanae my first appt is Monday, too! I’ll be thinking of you! I’m just doing EDD based on LMP since my cycles were very regular and never varied more than like 4 days. 🤷♀️
Just had my first appointment today! Little bean is measuring right on target, HR was 160. I can’t even say how much anxiety I was having making sure everything was okay. It feels so good to know this little one is fine
@kantobean Since I'm still nursing DS2, my cycles haven't really regulated 100% yet. Especially frustrating - the last "period" I had was 4 weeks of light brown spotting with a slight heavier flow in the middle. I really don't think my LMP started the day the light spotting started, so I don't have a great date to go off of for LMP dating. I used the heavier bit to guess that I'm at least March 2020 but still figures that I have a weird period right before my BFP lol.
Everything went well today at my first appointment! They had me in a bit early bc ((TW loss)) I'm PGAL, so I was pretty nervous, ((end TW)) but psyched to hear/see everything looks good--measuring on track, good HB, etc. (just posted a shot of future bebe in the ultrasounds thread.) I asked most of the questions I had listed, and my OB is just-- I like her bc even though we've only met a few times, I feel like we get each other. I'm sort of rambly but over prepared and she's patient with me and to the point. She asked if I wanted to see a high-risk specialist bc of my age, and I was like "nope," pretty fast, and she was like, "I just want to make sure you are aware of every option you have," which I appreciated. The U/S tech was the same lady, too, and she remembered me and was super sweet, and told us right away that everything looked good, which I really appreciated. We talked about what we have planned for the next two appointments--one of them now is the typical 8 week appointment, now that the first u/s looks good, and then I won't see them again until 12 weeks for a doppler scan and genetic testing, which is definitely nerve-wracking since that's a whole month--and she's gonna do allll my bloodwork then, instead of earlier, to make it easier on me, which I appreciate as well since last time ((TW loss again)) the bloodwork was for naught bc I lost the pregnancy. ((end TW)) Alright! Novel over!
@kagesstarshroom I'm so glad you got good news today! That's awesome!
I had an appointment today at a local clinic for a free ultrasound, and my next appointment is with my actual ob on the 22nd. Hoping everything looks good still in a few weeks...
Mine last week was just a confirmation of pregnancy, but she used the handheld doppler thing to get a little peek, which was nice and unexpected! Next is Aug 14th for an actual exam, U/S, and NIPT, and if all is well, we plan to announce the following weekend.
I had my first appointment today. Measuring on target + strong heartbeat on the ultrasound. The midwife was really nice and made me confident in my decision to switch from my OB (She’s part of the OB practice so still has all their technology and the doctors there if I ever needed them so it’s a nice balance). I can go for my NIPT bloodwork at 11 weeks, and my next appointment and NT scan is at 12 weeks. Feeling happy/relieved and ready to enjoy the rest of summer.
Had first appt yesterday. Measuring on track to the day, strong heartbeat, and confirmed it's a singleton! Heading over to US thread to post a pic now.
I'll have 1st tri screening tests around week 11, then next OB appt at week 12. With some of my personal health history, I'll need a couple extra labs and semi-related appointments, but everything is looking good right now!
I had my first appointment today. It was kind of anticlimactic bc since I’m seeing midwives and I don’t have any risk factors, they don’t do a dating scan and she said it was too early to hear the HB with a Doppler, so she just kind of felt my uterus and said it seemed the right size. 🤷♀️ I really like the midwives though and I’m excited for future appointments with more information. 😂
My dating ultrasound today was the fastest ultrasound I've ever had. As soon as I walked into the office she called me back to a room. Once I was ready she came in the room, had me insert the wand, then was like measure 3 times-due date is 3/20-hb 150-left ovary-right ovary-done. I think she seriously did it all within like 2-3 minutes. Such a tiny peek at the bean but at least everything looked ok! If I get the same lady at my 12 week NT scan I think I'll have to ask her more questions to get her to talk about what she's showing me. DH and I were just in shock at how fast the appointment came and went after she left the room.
So glad there are many positive appointments this month! Yay for strong heartbeats!
I had my first appointment Friday! It was an ultrasound and an OB visit. Since I moved, it was my first time meeting the OB. The ultrasound went really well. I was only 7w2d, but they started out with the abdominal ultrasound (they did the transvaginal later, though to get a better view) and we saw the baby and heartbeat right away! I'm measuring 2 days behind - no surprise as I tend to ovulate on day 16/17 but they're keeping my due date as 3/18. To be completely honest, I thought I would be more emotional but it just looked like a blob. It was a huge relief to see everything was perfect. It's a singleton, which I'm very relived about as my husband is a twin!
I liked the OB a lot - she's nice and to the point. I'll go back in 4 weeks for another ultrasound and visit, and we'll draw for the NIPT test then.
I go to the doctor tomorrow morning! I can't believe it is already here. ***TW*** Not to be dramatic, but I have PTSD mildly from the last three times I was in the US room. The fact that I've found the heartbeat with a doppler for a week now gives me a lot of peace, but I bet sleeping will be rough tonight!
I had my second ultrasound today. I measured 9 weeks exactly, which is three days behind my date based on my last period. This is similar to our first ultrasound that also measured a few days late. Not sure if they will adjust my DD or not. Otherwise, everything looked good. I have my NT scan on 8/27.
@jpalacios892 MH is also a twin, and I have twin uncles on my dad's side. Looked like one when we went in for our first appoint., though, so, same on the relief.
@EmilyLove25 Sending you all the good vibes for tomorrow!
We had our first appointment today! Ultrasounds showed baby measuring right on track at 7w6day! We saw the flickering of the heart but unfortunately doctor said she doesn’t give the rate...something about the heat near the baby and also said it doesn’t do anything for anxiety. A little bummed to not get a heart beat rate...but thankful we saw it and baby seems to be growing on track!
I posted in the U/S thread, since we finally had the first U/S yesterday. Everything seemed great, but after we got home, the doctor called to say she was reviewing the images and noticed a small subchorionic hemorrhage. She said it should heal itself and not be an issue, so I'm hoping for the best. I haven't had any bleeding so far, so fingers crossed that it's no big deal. I was also relieved that the scale at the doc only showed a 2 lb weight gain since last time. When I weighed at home over the weekend, it was MUCH higher and I was nervous about that. Now we're waiting for my Progenity results for 7-10 days. The next appointment is in 4 weeks, and I'll have to do a 24 hour urine capture and more blood work.
Finally had my first doctors appointment and US yesterday! Pic posted in the US thread. I‘m PGAL, so I was so happy and relieved to see the heartbeat and baby measuring on track at 7wks 3days! I’m no good at keeping secrets so I’m also very relieved to share the news with family and close friends over the next couple weeks. I have to go back for another US in 2 weeks just for dating purposes since I wasn’t at 8 weeks yet for this one, then a regular every 4 weeks appointment 2 weeks after that! As a FTM, did not realize there was really that many appointments! Thank goodness my job is so flexible with scheduling!
Had my blood draw at 8 AM for the Informaseq. Since I'm AMA and just anxiety prone, I'll definitely be stressing out about it... but hilariously the tech said "wow, they have a lot of other things on here too!" I guess I didn't realize all the state mandated tests would happen now too: HIV, syphilis, hepatitis, CBC, Rh etc. etc. Glad to have it all done at once!
Whew. First appointment last night. Met with the tech first and had our first ultrasound. Measuring 9 weeks (one day ahead of what I thought), wiggling, and a strong hb of 180. Then I met with the midwife who basically said, everything looks good, see you back in 2 weeks for a long appointment with another u/s, pap, testing, lots of questions. I had more questions, which she answered, but definitely felt like I would receive more information if that makes sense. IDK, they're used to delivering babies, but this is my first rodeo.
Seeing DH's face seeing the image was a very sweet experience.
I posted in the ultrasound thread (finally!) I had my first appointment yesterday, and it took forever but it was amazing!! I'm 9w+6d, due March 13th (Friday the 13th, hehe)! It feels so great to finally know how far along I am; also seeing the baby and watching that heart beat flicker so quickly warmed my heart.
I'm going to have to tell my work that I'm KU though because I have an appointment on Wednesday the 21st and then another one (a long one for NT testing and US) on August 29. Between these appointments and some other person stuff happening in my life that is requiring me to take time off work randomly, I'll need to be as transparent as I possibly can be. Just sooner than I had wanted, especially given that they knew last time I was pregnant and I experienced a loss... I don't want to go through that again, but I'll be in the second trimester in 2 weeks, so I think it'll just be time to tell anyway.
@Malidocious sooooo happy to hear your appt went well and see your u/s! 2 more hours for me and I can’t stand the waiting! If all goes well though I hear you on work—I’m thinking I’ll need to tell them ASAP otherwise no way can I justify so many appointments so early in the school year 😬 I also had spoken to work pre-loss last time and it was devastating to “untell” but unfortunately I think some job situations just require so much of that transparency!
Had my first appointment with my OB today! I was scared at first when he seemed to be having trouble finding the heartbeat but he found it! 160 which he said was totally normal. I don’t have another appointment for 6 weeks though which seems so far away! We got the A/S scheduled for 10/18 the day before our anniversary so hoping it’s good news and we’ll have more to celebrate the next day!
