Re: PGAL Check-in w/o 7/31
2. Previous loss(es)? 6 losses. 12/13, 1/17, 11/17, 4/18, 9/18, 2/19
3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? Feeling good for the most part. I’m kind of surprised I’m not feeling much anxiety anymore, even before my appts. Physically I’m still tired, my meat aversion has come in full force. I couldn’t buy raw chicken the other day and had trouble finishing half a cheeseburger.
4. Any appointment updates? August 22nd. Hoping the mfm calls to schedule an appt soon.
5. Rants/Raves/Questions? I cancelled hello fresh after the mess of forgetting to cancel and then having to pay $70 for two meals, one of which some of the ingredients were bad. For the past week I had this weird number calling me multiple times a day. Well at 9 last night I was in bed and it called for the 6th time. I answered and it was Hello Fresh wanting to know why I cancelled. I have no shame lately so I told them they were rude for calling so late, so many times a day and they need to lose my number. Normally I’m very nice to people who work customer service but I couldn’t take it anymore.
6. Any milestones coming up? Every day is a milestone
7. GTKY: What are you looking forward to doing before summer ends? Dh’s bday is next week so he will be taking the day off so we can hang out. He’s also finishing up a big job soon so he will be taking a little time off after that. We will have a stay-cation if some sort. I feel like we never
see him so it will be nice just to spend some uninterrupted time together.
1. How many weeks are you? 14w3d
2. Previous loss(es)? 1/19
3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? Emotionally, I'm ecstatic, riding the high of my appointment yesterday and the call from my OB regarding the NIPT results. My anxiety leveled off after the ultrasound @13w, but I was still anxious about the NIPT. Physically, I still have occasional nausea, but I can drink water again, and I can tolerate most of a SMALL cup off coffee if it doesn't taste like coffee too much. I'm starting to feel better all around.
4. Any appointment updates? Just had one yesterday.
5. Rants/Raves/Questions? I still can't believe I'm having another boy. Since it's my last, I would have had a tinge of disappointment either way unless we had boy/girl twins. I'm utterly relieved we are NOT having twins, and I'm thrilled at another boy. My poor sanity....
6. Any milestones coming up? My due date is tomorrow. It's bittersweet to celebrate a new life while saying good-bye to another.
7. GTKY: What are you looking forward to doing before summer ends? Ugh. NOTHING. I'm ready for it to be over. It's hard to summon the motivation to even do simple tasks like check the mail. The weather man left the forecast on the Xerox again. Highs in the upper 90s. Lows in the lower 80s. Humidy 89%. Heat Index 108. For the next 10 days.
EDIT: I take that back. I really want to marathon all the Middle-earth extended edition movies. It's too hot to do anything outside, but it might be the perfect time to settle in with 23 hours of Middle-earth, Peter Jackson, and Howard Shore. Turn the AC down to 74, draw the blackout curtains, turn off my phone, and say good-bye to this world for a couple of days. In the words of Billy Boyd, "To turn at last, to paths that lead home...." And, ahead of my Harry Potter re-read, I might just re-read LOTR. Great...I'm now lost in Middle-earth.
2. Previous loss(es)? 9/18 & 3/19
3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? emotionally I'm ok, not that weepy at all compared to with DD. I am still worried all the time for some reason since I can't feel that strong of kicks, or I question if that is even a kick/flutter. This anterior placenta is not working in my favour but I can't wait till the ultrasound next week. I'm nervous since I definitely have post traumatic stress from being in that room with the same tech but this time I'll have DH and DD there to see it and get more involved. Physically, I can say I'm feeling ok! Just my hips when I sleep is a constant battle of going numb and rolling over to relieve it.
4. Any appointment updates? anatomy scan on tuesday! midwife the following week
5. Rants/Raves/Questions? I finally went to a prenatal yoga class last night. With DD i religiously went throughout my whole pregnancy twice a week and met a great group of local women that way, but this time around I feel like I have no time. I'm hoping after the busyness of summer I can get more involved with actual exercise.
6. Any milestones coming up? every day, just waiting for those stronger kicks
7. GTKY: What are you looking forward to doing before summer end? DD's bday coming up, getting her new room ready and just taking advantage of the warm weather while it is here!
@kbrown2385 I just started a similar subscription so I'm hoping it goes better! I just have no motivation to think of meals and am hoping this will help a bit. I got the first month for very cheap so crossing fingers! I agree these sales people though can be extreme, I cancelled my phone company and moved to another over a year ago and I still get calls to this day.... so annoying
@FyreFlyeRush that marathon sounds awesome!
@FyreFlyeRush I'm so happy your appointment went well. I might have to join the annual read of the harry potter club. I often read it once a year or listen to the audio books since we have those too, but I don't have a particular time that I do it. Just when it feels right. I love how many HP fans we have. My students who are only 8-10 years younger do not have the same appreciation for HP and it makes me sad...
@kbrown2385 It's tough when the sales people are so pushy. It's hard to know if it is them or the company policies. I like to think I have a long fuse but enough is enough. 9pm is not okay!
1. How many weeks are you? 14 + 3
2. Previous loss(es)? 12/18 4/19
3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? So much better emotionally. I think I have relaxed and let the excitement set in. Though I still check for blood every time I pee. Not sure that will ever go away. Physically, better and worse. My ears are really bothering me. They are clogged all the time and sometimes hurt. I've been doing all the things I know but yet it only somewhat works so that's frustrating. The sinus stuff makes me vomit every once in a while and I would really like to be past that. But at least I'm not nauseated all the time! Probably talk to my doc at my next appointment and see if there is something we can do....
4. Any appointment updates? Next appointment is Aug 14 so still a few weeks to go.
5. Rants/Raves/Questions? My students are so cute. Lots of them are doing summer research this summer so when they see me, the stop and smile and ask how I'm doing. I love being able to get to know them! Some are jerks and entitled but most are simply amazing!
6. Any milestones coming up? Excited for the anatomy scan. It seems so far away though!
7. GTKY: What are you looking forward to doing before summer ends? I just can't think about summer ending. It literally started for me last week. We have a few vacations planned to visit family and be on the beach so definitely excited about those but also starting to panic about not being ready for the fall term coming up.
@c1kc1kpol1cn1k I’m trying my best not to focus on feeling flutters or anything but it’s hard not too! I cant believe you’re already at the anatomy scan! I feel like it’s going by so fast!
@biolprof I definitely still check the tp for any sign of blood. I even did it while we were ttc so I don’t think it will ever go away. The guy who called last night was very polite Andre I know he was just doing his job, but 9pm is excessive. Fx they don’t call back ever. We have lots of solicitors here and one for the local cable company showed up at 730pm the other night. I told her off too. I just don’t get why they need to do it so late.
Question: Do anyone of you get ultrasounds after the anatomy scan? I know usually that is the last one unless there is a cause for concern, can mental health/anxiety be one?
EDIT - Now that I think about it, I might end up getting them this pregnancy due to my blood pressure issues.
2. Previous loss(es)? My son at 16w5d in Oct 2016
3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? The week I have been terrified of emotionally is upon me and so far so good. While I know that my last pregnancy and this pregnancy are not correlated, that doesn't stop my brain from freaking out that this baby will die at the same time too. I've been trying to prepare mentally but as my therapist reminded me, my body will probably react and show my true feelings and anxiety. I just keep thinking if baby girl can get through this week alive she will be ok. It's such a mind fu*%. Thankfully I can feel her move most days so that is helping my anxiety in a huge way.
4. Any appointment updates? 16 week scan tomorrow! Nervous but reassured since I can feel baby moving around in there
5. Rants/Raves/Questions? I still get times of period-like cramping which I am assuming is from my uterus growing, but at what point do you start to worry about PTL? With my daughter I had cramping for a few days and when I finally called the OB they sent me to L&D and I was having contractions every 2 minutes. Oops. But that was at 28 weeks...
6. Any milestones coming up? Yes my big one. 16w5d. Deep breaths this week.
7. GTKY: What are you looking forward to doing before summer ends? Going swimming! I haven't been once since the heat has really been effecting me this time around.
@DalexRN sending hugs your way
2. Previous loss(es)? 10/17, 11/18
3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? The fear has definitely decreased as the weeks increase, but finding it hard right now as the nausea has subsided, but I still don't feel any kicks.
4. Any appointment updates? Next appointment is this week.
5. Rants/Raves/Questions? I'm living cross culturally right now and it's totally normal here for people to comment on your weight and ask how much weight you've put on, which is hard for me! Thankful that belly is starting to look more pregnant so I'm not just the fat foreigner anymore!
6. Any milestones coming up? Every day - this is the furthest I've ever made it in a pregnancy.
7. GTKY: What are you looking forward to doing before summer ends? Just had a friend from home visit, so that was a big tick for me.
@FyreFlyeRush I’m glad you got through your due date OK, and what a sweet BFF to get you that U/S package!
@kiaraskj Oh lord, I would feel incredibly awkward having people comment about weight like that on a regular basis.
1. How many weeks are you? 16w3d
2. Previous loss(es)? DD’s twin 2/17
3. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically? Feeling at least occasional movement has helped PGAL brain tremendously. Physically, the heartburn has kicked in full force.
4. Any appointment updates? Had an appt on 7/29 and got to hear that glorious heartbeat again. Unfortunately my “white coat syndrome” kicked in and my BP read high, so my OB suggested I start measuring at home.
5. Rants/Raves/Questions? So glad DH is back in town. He was gone til Thurs night for work and I had a really intense week at work plus 100% of DD duties. Ready to relax this weekend!
6. Any milestones coming up? Anatomy scan 8/26!
7. GTKY: What are you looking forward to doing before summer ends? I can’t wait to go to the state fair. It’s a tradition for us and now that DD is a little older I think she will appreciate it more. Plus, aaalll the fried food.
