have my 6w scan this Friday. Took a FRER today and it was no darker than the 5w one, if anything the control line was darker. Have had multiple early losses and feeling panicked!
we don't post pee sticks here. that is only allowed on the pinned post in the 1st tri board.
also I recommend you stop peeing on sticks and get betas done by your doctor to get some peace of mind. i doubt comparing lines at this point is accurate for hcg increasing. a doc should be accommodating with your loss history.
*edit - ask for betas when you get your scan on friday

Hi there. Welcome to March 2020
I'm sorry you're feeling so scared. Please head over to this thread to get acquainted with how things are done here, and then intro in the "Introduce Yourself Here" post.
Dye loads are different from test to test, and aren't necessarily indicative of what's going on with your pregnancy. I've had two tests of the SAME brand dipped in the SAME urine look entirely different. Unfortunately all you can do it wait for your scan on Friday. Good luck, and please also check out the PGAL thread for support for loss moms.
I agree with everything mentioned above. I also will chime in that we have all been there and know that it can be really stressful when you are desperately looking for verification all is right. I do want to mention that around 5.5-6.5 weeks is when the hook effect takes place, meaning the beta HCG overwhelms the test and the line actually gets lighter. If we dilute the urine (60% water, 40% urine), the line will be darker than it is not-diluted. The fact that I know this should show you how obsessed I was with that. So I imagine you are at that point.
Definitely intro and bring this to the questions thread and be part of the group!
@EmilyLove25 Oh, I did not know that about the hook effect... interesting! I took a test yesterday just because seeing the positive appear eases my worries on days when my anxiety is through the roof, and the line was lighter than I was expecting. That could explain it, though, because I am around 6 weeks.
@Malidocious I am almost certain that is what is happening to you. If you have extra tests, try the dilution. It's actually kind of cool to see it haha. First tri anxiety makes us all a little crazy haha.

it looks like the hook effect comes into play when/if your HCG is between 25,000-250,000+ mIU/ml, depending on which HPT you're using.
