I'll start this thread off with a bang: nothing like urgent diarrhea during a walk with your toddler to spice up the day. I quite literally almost sh*t my pants, and for some reason DS was crying and screaming bloody murder the entire time I was on the toilet. Good times.
@chichiphin it was quite a mess. I rushed into the house (after initially stopping at a campground bathroom on our walk), grabbed some cake for DS, barely made it to the toilet on time, and sat there with a screaming toddler on the floor. I have no idea why he was so upset, and I was desperately trying to feed him cake to get him to calm down. Like I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT'S WRONG BUT PLEASE EAT THIS CAKE AND BE HAPPY WHILE MOMMY POOPS
@stassischroeder That's the worst! I mean, at least you didn't sh*t your pants, but man that's no fun. It reminds me of a time when DD was probably 7 months old and I had a poo emergency while driving. I pulled into a gas station, grabbed DD and ran in. When I got to the restroom there was no where to put her except a DIRTY tub of old car parts. I put her in the tub because I didn't want to (a) put her on the ground, or (b) poop my pants. She screamed the entire time and I cried because of the stress of it all!
AFM, I've been listening to The Hate U Give (book on tape) and watching S7 of OITNB this week, so I've done a lot of crying and feeling generally terrible about the state of our country right now.
Bored at work over here, and pretty stoked to see some things coming out of the woodwork on the board, if you know what I mean!
Also just ordered "Expecting Better" on Amazon. Can't believe it won't come until tomorrow! I want to read it tonight since you ladies all speak so highly of it!
@stassischroeder Nothing like urgent diarrhea to cap your day! @keeksie84 Oh the state of this country is so alarming... I just can't.
@emilylove25 i need a hint at what is "coming out of the woodwork" ....should I be reading all the Groups' posts? Bc right now I'm sticking to mine...
@stassischroeder Well, thanks for trying to keep the order whilst being entertained. I just get paranoid that it'll turn into 1st Tri over here & I will therefore explode into 999 pieces.
@kagesstarshroom nah, with this many TTGP grads in here we should be fine. I'm sure there will be the obligatory "board organization vs free for all" debate (there's at least one in EVERY BMB), but I've never seen organization not reign supreme!
AFM, I just bought a pregnancy journal and I'm so excited. I love journaling. I also bought a "notes for my son" book for DS. I want to make sure I keep track of all the sweet things he is doing and tell him how much I love him right now. Dear lord hormones are making me sappy
@keeksie84 I have been doing a lot of depressing reading/listening lately as well. I just finished reading A Handmaid’s Tale and I’ve been listening to the podcast Terrible, Thanks for Asking. Both excellent but both super sad. I need some funny in my life!
@kantobean I have been watching A Handmaid's Tale on Hulu here and there but have been interested in reading the book. Glad to hear it's a good book! I think I'll read it, despite how sad it will be (if the show is any indicator).
@stassischroeder 🤣 Funny not funny. I had a 💩 attack in a public restroom with the 2 and 4 year olds in the stall with me. I had to play Simon Says with them to keep them calm and relatively quiet, while I got sick. Pregnancy is so fun!
@momoftoddlers Ooooooffff! That's some next level momming right there! All I could come up with was showing him a game on my phone and shoving cake in his mouth
@kantobean Have you watched GLOW? We really liked that. It was pretty funny! As for a funny book, when I worked at bookstores, I used to always recommend Jonathan Lethem's MOTHERLESS BROOKLYN bc it "made me laugh on a plane." DH refuses to watch Handmaid's Tale bc we know it will be so depressing/too close to what seems like the imminent future.
Oh man all you guys with poo-mergencies are making me thankful that I have the opposite problem though it’s rather uncomfortable.
@kantobean I just finished reading A Handmaids Tale as well! I haven’t seen the show but I think we’re going to drop Netflix soon and start rotating subscription services bc now that it seems like everyone is just making their own I want to see what else is out there and I’m sure we’ll give Hulu a shot.

Y’all I’m so over this day! H is a grump because he’s been dealing with a ton of stuff at work. He works late every night this week. I’m dead exhausted because I throw up everything I eat or drink. I think I’m borderline dehydrated. I just picked up some purple Gatorade because it was the only thing I could stomach with my DS. So. Fingers crossed. Then as I was grabbing a pan out of the oven my thumb slipped and I burned it pretty badly. Ugh! Going to put a movie on for the kids and hopefully just sit here until bedtime. 😭
@miss.sally sorry your stomach is being uncooperative!
@kantobean ALSO, if you haven't watched Schitt's Creek, it's HILARIOUS. I should have also recc'd that earlier. Nice little short episodes too, so totally binge-able. DH and I have been bingeing AP Bio via the NBC app, which I like, but not as much as what I recc'd. I can't get over how much of a douche the main character is? Also the NBC app is really glitchy and pisses me off.
@kagesstarshroom I haven’t done Schitt’s creek! Maybe I’ll check it out on my day off tomorrow (DD is at daycare and I have one errand to run but no other plans).
@kagesstarshroom and @kantobean I just started Schitt's Creek at the reco of some ladies on here and I'M SO OBSESSED. It's too awkward for DH to enjoy which means I get to binge it at my own pace. So good.
@stassischroeder, @EmilyLove25 and @kagesstarshroom I'm also kinda into the one off posts! I wouldn't mind a dash of idiocy to keep things interesting here. I'm really loving our board so far; everyone seems so nice and level-headed, but I do love me a hint o' dramz every now and again.
I'm still here, y'all. DH and I took off work Monday and Tuesday and the break in my routine meant far less bumping. FIL FINALLY gets his cancer surgery today. ILs have been here since Monday of last week, and it's gotten pushed back a few times. He has an expected recovery time of one week in the hospital, which means MIL will be staying with us for at least another week. I hate that they're going through this, but it has also been super stressful for us to share our home for this long, and cater to their needs, including driving. I've also insisted that we don't tell them we're KU until DS's birthday party in a few weeks when everyone else finds out, but that's also hard to be quiet about it when they're in my space 24/7. I'm hoping everything goes well today, and things calm down since MIL will be spending more time at the hospital. Work is also crazy right now and we're moving DS to a new daycare next week, so I feel spread pretty thin right now.
@christinemireille We aren't supposed to comment in the US thread, but I NEED to tell you how obsessed I am with your cat nail. Seriously, I never get my nails done, but that might just be the inspiration I need!!!!
I took my unisom and b6 last night, and while I’m not throwing up (yay!), I have to race to the bathroom every time I eat. Guess there’s always gotta be something! I plan to live off chicken noodle soup and purple Gatorade for the next few weeks.

@varimama same, haven’t watched it. Not sure I will bc the book was real enough for me!

It’s okay. I think I like the one I used last pregnancy more: https://www.walmart.com/ip/The-Pregnancy-Journal-9-Months-to-Remember-9788854411012/55157908?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=6710&adid=22222222228000000000&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=m&wl3=42423897272&wl4=pla-51320962143&wl5=9004022&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=115785799&wl11=online&wl12=55157908&veh=sem&gclid=CjwKCAjw1f_pBRAEEiwApp0JKAaD59xYZSdzEqtQnC1Y8ZUR38Wb0dY3xW33KsL3fk6URbubN8e5-xoCrQ8QAvD_BwE
Also holy moly, it’s $4.92 at Walmart and $10 from Barnes and Noble!! That is messed up!
