Re: Weekly Check-in Groups 1&2 (Jan 1-16) w/o 7/22

  • EDD/W+D: Jan 1st, 16w+5

    Team finding out/pink/blue/green: finding out

Baby is the size of a(n): can of pop

    Upcoming appts: August 14th

How are you feeling?: pretty good. Hiccuping and sneezing more frequently.

Rants/Raves: I still haven't popped or felt movement and I am getting jealous of people who post pictires at 16 weeks. Their bumps look so cute! Also my weight keeps going down or maintaining which is good in a way, but also concerning.

    Questions: none

GTKY: What is your biggest/worse phobia (hint: phobias are irrational fears)?

I'm afraid of birds. I'm ok if they are still, but if they fly or flap near me I freak out. (FAQ: No, I have not seen the movie "the birds" and never will)
  • EDD/W+D: 1/6, 16 weeks

    Team finding out/pink/blue/green: pink

Baby is the size of a(n): avocado

Upcoming appts: routine MW appointment on Thursday! Yay heartbeat!

How are you feeling?: Good except so, so tired and I feel weak and queasy when I don't eat enough, particularly protein.

Rants/Raves: Eating is starting to feel like a chore. Reaching that middle part of pregnancy where I just want to feel like myself again.

    Questions:

GTKY: What is your biggest/worse phobia (hint: phobias are irrational fears)? Caves and tunnels

@alicia__e sorry you're wanting to pop more! I think this is a "grass is always greener" situation. I popped early with both pregnancies and got gigantic by the end with my first, and I was super self conscious about it. I still am. I had to tell work so early and get in maternity clothes during week 9! Hugs, all of our bodies are doing just what they should be, don't worry.

  • @alicia__e As long as your doc isn’t worried about your weight, you shouldn’t be. I know the goal is to have an adorable perfect basketball bump—which I’m totally hoping for, too—but you’ll look cute and glowing regardless! Totally normal not to feel movement that early either, especially if you have an anterior placenta.

@Xstatic3333 I hope you have a great appointment Thursday!

    EDD/W+D: Jan 15/14w5d

    Team finding out/pink/blue/green: pink

Baby is the size of a(n): nectarine

    Upcoming appts: 7/29 routine OB

How are you feeling?: Boobs feel like they’ve gained a pound each. I’m still getting spots of nausea, though heartburn has not been quite as nasty as it was with DD.

Rants/Raves: I have 7:30 meetings most of this week and it’s going to kill me.

    Questions: nope

GTKY: What is your biggest/worse phobia (hint: phobias are irrational fears)? Revolving doors. I’m afraid one will squish me. And my work has many, many revolving doors, including automated ones.
  • EDD/W+D: 1/13/20, 15 Weeks.  At my last doctor's appointment they put my due date back to my original LMP date, even thought the ultrasound was nearly a week ahead.  Just means big baby, I guess...lol!

    Team finding out/pink/blue/green:  Finding out

Baby is the size of a(n):  Magic 8 Ball

Upcoming appts:  Next doctor appointment on August 6.

How are you feeling?:  Pretty good.  Coming back from a week of vacation so we'll see how work goes this week and how exhausted I am.

Rants/Raves:  My husband and I took a "stay-cation" last week to do some work around the house while DS went to daycare.  The yardwork was pretty quickly abandoned due to heat, but my son insisted on getting up at 6 a.m. most of the week and refused to snuggle while we tried to catch some extra sleep...ugh!

    Questions: None this week.

GTKY: What is your biggest/worse phobia (hint: phobias are irrational fears)?  I can't really think of any phobias that I have.

  • @alicia__e not to worry, not sure if this is your first, but with mine I didn't even develop any sort of change until at least 21 weeks. Each body react's differently, and it doesn't mean anything really! Ps. have you booked your anatomy scan?

    EDD/W+D: 1/1 16w5

    Team finding out/pink/blue/green: green

Baby is the size of a(n): Poire belle Helene (some french pear dessert haha)

Upcoming appts: August 6 anatomy scan and august 12 for the next midwife apt

How are you feeling?: heartburn central, hunger has set in and also felling a lot of tugging/pulling.

Rants/Raves: not much really, I wish I was on vacation now, we went super early this year but I feel like summer is just picking up now haha

Questions: What are you doing for exercise?

GTKY: What is your biggest/worse phobia (hint: phobias are irrational fears)? flies!!!! I have super curly hair and I hate when a fly is buzzing around since it always gets stuck in my hair ughhh, super gross and I run away
  • @Xstatic3333 great that your appointment is so soon!
@breweber2010 I guess it means you go by the date you have but maybe be prepared a week early just in case :P With DD I was measuring a head and she came exactly a week ahead. This time they are saying 4 days ahead but that doesn't mean much
  • EDD/W+D:  Jan 8th/15+5

    Team finding out/pink/blue/green: finding out

Baby is the size of a(n): naval orange or lightbulb specifically today apparently

    Upcoming appts:  Thursday!

How are you feeling?:  good, motivation has returned and I got a ton of stuff done yesterday!

Rants/Raves:  still peeing a lot.  Had to do a 24 hour urine collect since they're monitoring me early for preeclampsia since I'll be high risk for getting it again this pregnancy.

    Questions: none

GTKY: What is your biggest/worse phobia (hint: phobias are irrational fears)?  Um, my number one is my kid being kidnapped or dying in a tragic accident that I have zero control over.  But I think that's probably most parents worst fear.  But also that someone will break into our house in the middle of the night and seriously injure/murder us despite living in a safe area, locking doors, etc.  I think I can probably blame that on a combination of my childhood trauma and watching crime/murder mysteries.  Lol. Literally anything else I think I can deal with.  Sorry for being so dark and paranoid but legit my worst fears. 😂🤷‍♀️
  • @valerie4786 ahhaahha i'm dying here, those are definitely my worst fears. I blame the breaking in one/murder one on Criminal Minds, that show freaked me out but I was so addicted at one point
  • @c1kc1kpol1cn1k My firstborn came a week early so I'm more than prepared for this one to come early too.  My husband is just praying we don't have it in December as he's a late December baby himself and he hates it...lol
Lilypie Fourth Birthday tickers Lilypie First Birthday tickers
  • @c1kc1kpol1cn1k we walk the dog for 45min every day; at the gym , I do body weight or holding 10lbs squats or lunges every other day, and arms with light weights, at least 3x a week. Its not super intensive but I do them in a circuit so I get my heart rate up. I don’t stay more than an hour.

    EDD/W+D: Jan 1/16w5d

    Team finding out/pink/blue/green: green! Waiting!

Baby is the size of a(n): avocado

Upcoming appts: jul 25, just a meet with another dr in practice before we pick who our primary OB will be

How are you feeling?: pretty good, although a lot of indigestion when I eat too much or too quickly! Trying to slow down!

Rants/Raves: 😑 ugh we ended up at the ER on Sat night since I just started bleeding out of nowhere; It was kind of terrifying since id had some mild cramping but wasn’t sure if it was RLP, or just gas, and I wasn’t doing anything besides making dinner at the time. 5hrs later,  the baby is perfectly fine (looking o so cute!) and I was sent home, but it looks like the placenta is low and super close to the cervix, so I’ll have to follow up with my dr to be monitored. They think it’s still early so hopefully the placenta will move away from the cervix and we’ll be clear.  Until then, DH will have to deal with no monkey business and I have to take it easy; there hasn’t been any bleeding since sat so I’m not sure if I overreacted to go the ER but I would have been freaking out if we didn’t go.

    Questions:none

GTKY: What is your biggest/worse phobia (hint: phobias are irrational fears)?  Escalators! I have the worst rhythm and have to really concentrate on which step to get on/off! I also think something is going to get caught and drag me under. 😖
  • EDD/W+D: 1/2/20, so 16 weeks and some change Team finding out/pink/blue/green: My husband and I are doing a private sex reveal just between the two of us...and telling everyone else that we’re waiting! Usually pretty good at secrets-fingers crossed I can keep this huge one. Baby is the size of a(n): The app says “a newborn cap” today. I don’t have a newborn yet, how would I know? :) Upcoming appts: 8/21 A/S. Can’t come soon enough! How are you feeling?: Tired and food still doesn’t excite me, but better than I was a month ago. Round ligament pain is here and it is REAL. So much aching and I just sneezed and yelled out from the stabbing! Rants/Raves: I’m in that stage where you’re too pregnant to fit into any of your regular clothes, but not pregnant enough to wear maternity. Over it.

  • All-really sorry about the triple post with no spaces! My app is messing up. I can’t like anyone’s post or easily @ anyone either. Anyone have thoughts?
  • EDD/W+D: Jan 3 / 16w+3d

    Team finding out!

Baby is the size of a(n): Avocado

Upcoming appts: (another) Thursday appointment with the doc. A/S is Aug 19th. So excited!

How are you feeling?: Way more energy than a few weeks ago. It's pretty incredible.

Rants/Raves: I feel like I gained a bit too much weight already. Need to get active more than once a week and try not to indulge in everything.

Questions: I am also interested in what you all are doing for exercise!

@c1kc1kpol1cn1k I've done something active only once a week, but since I'm feeling better I'm going to try to do something more frequently. Examples from the last month; 1 hour of kayaking, 45 mins of 'wog' at 1 minute and 1 walking, a 1 hour very slow Cross fit workout..  Most recently I went for a serious hike: 13 miles and 4,200 feet ascent. I'm really sore!

Phobia: I do feel strange about dark unknown places.. like bushes as I'm walking at night, or deep water.
  • @knotsurewhattocallmyself ive been having trouble on both the pc and the app on my phone trying to lovetit, sometimes it works, sometimes it gives me a javascript error message. very annoying!

    EDD/W+D: 8th January / 15+6

Team finding out/pink/blue/green: finding out - My anomaly scan isnt for another 4 weeks but i have 2 appointments before that where i will be scanned so am defs going to ask at thoses aswell incase they can tell me earlier!

Baby is the size of a(n): the size of a nutella jar apparently or a toilet roll tube or a box of crayons

Upcoming appts: tomorrow afternoon - twin clinic - i see the ob consultant, specialist twin consultant, have bloods taken, get scanned & sit about inbetween for ages

How are you feeling?: ok-ish. i get so tired around 5ish like i could sleep for a week but since dh isnt home at that time and dd is usually running riot at this stage i cant & then i cant sleep when i go to bed.

Rants/Raves: DD is both my rant and rave - my rave cause she potty trained in under a week and has been doing amazing & is even dry overnight and after naps. my rant because we got her a toddler bed and took away her cot & she refused to sleep in it the first night, we lasted til 6am this morning so it was a lot better but then she melted down this morning, refusing to get dressed and made me late for work. With being so drained already its hard not to lose patience and this morning was a serious struggle.

    Questions: not at the minute

GTKY: What is your biggest/worse phobia (hint: phobias are irrational fears)? i have irrational thoughts about accidents involving my family sometimes
  • @mama_stef I have placenta very near my cervix, too! My MW wasn't that worried about it either and I shared it with my old BMB friends and like half of them said "oh yeah, I had that too!" but it moved by delivery. I also got the good old sex ban but no other activity restrictions thanks goodness.

For exercise, I'm rotating between brisk walks, slow jogs, strength training (Dana Landgren on instagram) and Zumba videos on Youtube (modified to be low impact). I aim to get 30 minutes of exercise most days with 1-2 days off per week.

@leprechaunlady good luck at the twin clinic today! (Tomorrow? Where are we and what day is it?)
  • @Xstatic3333 thanks, its tomorrow! lol

@mama_stef im one of the ones @Xstatic3333 is talking about, with dd my placenta was very low & over my cervix initially but it moved well before delivery!
  • @breweber2010 random question but why does your husband not like late December as a due date hahah if I  come early it may even be Christmas or later :S
@mama_stef what a scare! glad everything worked out ok at the hospital, if you didn't go for sure you would have been worrying so that's good.
@knotsurewhattocallmyself no problem on the triple post! I totally forgo the app and just open up a web-page on either safari (iPhone) or google depending on what you have. Works much easier! Also
@Limes030 honestly my workouts are non-existent. Balancing summer activities and my toddler I feel like I have no time for anything. Only because it is summer I am getting at least once a week some swimming in, or lots of walking. I also haven't gained really any weight so I hope that picks up.
@leprechaunlady awesome that DD potty trained so quickly! Maybe it's a lot of change and that's why shes rebelling against the new bed. I have to make the switch probably at the end of august and super nervous.
  • @leprechaunlady Your DD potty trained like a rockstar! How old is she? We are at the stage of sitting on the little pink potty for awhile but nothing happening. She’s fascinated with the notion of going on the potty, though, so I am hopeful.
  • jacerujaceru member
@mama_stef @Xstatic3333 So, I read my NT ultrasound report on my patient portal and it mentioned partial previa too (low placenta/partially covering cervix) but my OB never mentioned anything to me. I think that most that are detected in early pregnancy resolve by term. But of course now I went down the rabbit hole of worry about potential complications  :s

@knotsurewhattocallmyself I hate the app. It never works for me.

@leprechaunlady I agree, its probably a lot of change at once with potty training and new bed. Its great that she is doing so well with the potty! My DD trained fairly easily too, but still wears pull ups for naps and bed. I am trying to keep her in her crib for as long as possible! She turns 3 in August but might wait to switch her for a couple more months.

    EDD/W+D: 1/7 16 w

Team finding out/pink/blue/green: finding out. 4 weeks to go!

Baby is the size of a(n): avocado

Upcoming appts: August 20th anatomy scan

How are you feeling?: Been really tired at work lately. Otherwise, I have been feeling better nausea wise.

Rants/Raves:My OB does an integrated screen for genetic risk testing. Which means that I had to get second trimester blood work in addition to NT scan and first trimester blood work. I just got the 16 week blood work done yesterday  and they said it was going to take a week to get back! I just want to know that everything looks ok. My boss already knows, but I've been waiting to tell my coworkers until I find out and it is getting harder and harder to hide.

Questions: Any one have favorite places to buy maternity clothes that aren't the usual? Last time, I mostly shopped at target, old navy, some motherhood. I am looking for something new.

GTKY: What is your biggest/worse phobia (hint: phobias are irrational fears)? I am pretty claustrophobic.
  • @EmilyE13 shes just turned 2.5. The first couple of days were awful but she has been so amazing since!
@jaceru were going to be moving house next spring aswell as the new babies, I wanted her to be well established in her bed and it be something familiar in the new house when we move & not resent the new babies taking her cot. Also, with her refusing to wear a nappy or pull ups to bed, i feel more comfortable with her being able to have access to the bathroom should she need it.

  • @c1kc1kpol1cn1k I have an anatomy scan booked August 14th (same day as my next ob follow-up)
  • jacerujaceru member
@leprechaunlady that makes total sense! It might just take some time but I’m sure she will get there.
  • @c1kc1kpol1cn1k He isn't thrilled with the possibility of a late December baby and his birthday is 12/29 and he's had to live with having a birthday that close to Christmas.  No fun...
Lilypie Fourth Birthday tickers Lilypie First Birthday tickers
  • @breweber2010 I share a birthday with your husband & ive never had an issue with it or found it not to be fun, as a child I still had birthday parties etc & as an adult, everyone is off work & able to celebrate with you 🤷🏻‍♀️
  • @breweber10 and @leprechaunlady thank both for the insight! I love the holiday time so hopefully I will just channel that feeling if baby does decide to come early.
  • And then meanwhile, you've got people like my husband who would probably take a birth on actual Christmas if it meant he could get the tax break for an extra year!  :#

Honestly it is tempting to hope for a 2019 birth in some ways. Our insurance resets in July, so we've already hit two deductibles in the last couple of months. Current insurance is quite decent, so just the 7/1 Panorama did the trick. H is up for a new job that has okay insurance and the more typical January benefit year, so if he gets it we will then need to pay a third deductible, this one significantly higher than the other two, for my 2019 care, and then presumably (since I went late with #1) a fourth deductible for delivery in January. Sighhhhh. New insurance would also have coinsurance to factor in, while current insurance just does a $500 copay for delivery. @leprechaunlady can I come be your FT nanny?
  • @Xstatic3333 you know all my f17 ladies are always welcome!! C & S can hang out together & your new wee lady can be the twins new bestie! 😉

  • EDD/W+D: 16+5

    Team finding out/pink/blue/green: finding out

Baby is the size of a(n): avocado

Upcoming appts: dunno yet. Had to cancel my make a injection for today because the pharmacy claimed they lost the prescription! I'm waiting for them to call me so I can authorize it to be shipped to the Dr. Then I can call and make my next appointment.

How are you feeling?: Bitchy. Good, but bitchy. I even heard myself on the phone as I was talking to the receptionist- the nurse Tuesday said she'd let the front know to cancel my appointment which of course didn't happen, so they called me claiming I missed my appointment, then the lady told me I missed my check-up...when I just had one two weeks ago and today's appointment was strictly just for my injection. Irritated me and I heard myself getting bitchy with her!

    Rants/Raves: read above lol
