EDD/W+D: 3/19, 5w+4d .....I look forward to every Thursday!
Team finding out/pink/blue/green: DH is very excited to find out. I would love a surprise. I just found out my cousins are not going to find out for their baby, and I am a bit (happily) jealous!
Baby is the size of a(n): lavender bud!
Upcoming appts: 8/14 - First appointment with midwife and ultrasound. (FX I will be 8w+6d)
How are you feeling?: Physically great! Waking up in the middle of the night, and unable to go back to sleep, but nothing I'm complaining about. I mentioned before that I've been hungry. It's more like a sudden onset of hunger pains. I'm trying to stay on top of that and to avoid any nausea/MS.
Rants/Raves: I had a wonderful time this weekend at a family party. My aunt and I were talking about my cousins with kids/expecting, and she thought I was going to tell her I was expecting, and that she is going to be SO excited when I am. It was really hard not to tell/cry.
Questions: Has anyone told family/friends since last week? What's your time frame for telling your job?
GTKY: What was your favorite subject/class in school? I really enjoyed history!
Upcoming appts: 8/2 - I'll be 7w2d and I'll have an ultrasound and a doctor's appointment.
How are you feeling?: I feel ok. I had a bout of horrible cramps last night which I think were due to dehydration - I think it lasted 20 minutes or so, but I thought I was going to vomit from the pain. It went away after drinking a ton of water and laying down. Today, I'm back to mild cramping and lower back pain. I wouldn't say I'm exactly nauseous but just not exactly into food.
Rants/Raves: Job hunting. Uuuugh.
Questions: @lusineg I haven't told anyone new but my husband confessed he told a bunch of work people. Apparently, "it just came up" and he couldn't help himself. We haven't even told our parents yet!
GTKY: What was your favorite subject/class in school? I liked English and Social Studies. I hated Physics.
@jpalacios892 OMG MH too! **TW** & we're PGAL! **end TW** I'm like did you NOT learn the first time!?
@lusineg Power to you for holding out! It'll be a good story when you can talk about that time you really wanted to but didn't tell her! DH knows, obvs (& see above!) & I told two friends--both of whom were the friends who were like "where are you at in your cycle?" bc they're the ones I've been talking TTGP to--I couldn't lie to them, & they're people I would tell everything to anyway.
EDD/W+D: 3/21 / 5w2d
Team finding out/pink/blue/green: unsure!
Baby is the size of a(n): lentil!
Upcoming appts: 8/1!
How are you feeling?: I am feeling full/bloated/gassy, and I have the occasional sour stomach/vaguest nausea feeling. Also, I am generally HOT (& not as in good-looking--I'm a mess!) I was hot in Walmart today, wherein usually when I go into shops that pump the AC I am freezing and need my sweater. I am totally distracted and scattered, unable to focus on most things I need to be working on.
Rants/Raves: One of my dogs was on the couch & kicked me in the stomach, which--no matter how many times I read on the internet is No Big Deal for first try--is making me nervous. As for a rave, I did some collaging today & that felt good. One of them is almost done & I think the other I started too will turn out good.
Questions: Totally not PG related: Have any of you with Netflix watched the glassblowing show Blown Away? DH & I just finished it last night & it was really good.
GTKY: What was your favorite subject/class in school? English!
Team finding out/pink/blue/green: Up for debate! I wanna be green, but we'll probably end up finding out.
Baby is the size of a: Sweet Pea
Upcoming appts: 8/13. On the first visit for my last pregnancy, the midwife found Sylvia-to-be's sweetest heartbeat, mused that my uterus seemed too big for 10 weeks, suggested I might be having twins (I was like :-O), and then sent me for an US down the street where I saw my little singleton gummy bear. I'm glad my husband and baby (uh, big kid?) can join me this time!
How are you feeling?: Not the best, but not terrible. I feel like my symptoms are both earlier and more intense this time around! I feel carsick for hours at a time and wake up with mild headache everyday. Cramping on and off. GI issues. Bloody nose!
Rants/Raves: I'm grateful my husband let me steal away into the bedroom for a hot sec cos my kiddo has been on a very "naughty" streak since her microscopic nap this afternoon. He was downstairs trying to fix his Wurlitzer and she kept biting me, laughing maniacally, then scaling all kinds of furniture and threatening to jump off. PHEW. I WAS ABOUT TO LOSE MY COOL, Y'ALL.
Questions: Don't think so.
GTKY: What was your favorite subject/class in school? Art & its various manifestations. I actually went to art school after high school... and then went back to school at age 30 to become a nurse.
@lusineg I told my parents by accident when I sent a screen shot of my pregnancy app to the group thread with them & my husband instead of to my husband alone. LOL. My husband told his family not too long after that via text. We're not too announce-y (and I have absolutely nothing against it). We made a social media post after the anatomy scan the last time around. As far as work goes, I'm not sure. I was working in the medical ED when pregnant with Sylvia and encountered more "dangers" there, so kinda had to disclose to get out of things at times. I work in the psych ED now, so I shouldn't really need to tell anyone until I start to show and should avoid violent patients.
@jpalacios892 I also feel so much better when I'm drinking all the water.
@kagesstarshroom my daughter is really into straddling my abdomen and bouncing up and down right now... also trying to stay cool B-)
@kantobean high school choir teacher sounds like such a fun job!
NB: I find it really tedious and difficult to tag people on the bump on the phone, so apologies if I seem like a slacker in that regard. On my laptop now.
@orbmaker it is super fun! Most of the time, haha. also: I totally forgot about bloody noses! I got a few last pregnancy and it was way weird, I’ve never had one any other time! It seriously freaked me out. And I would about DIE if my MW suggested I might be having twins. Omg. When I was getting an ultrasound for my now big kid, the doc noted that she was measuring big and seemed slightly concerned. Then he kindly noted on our chart that “both parents are constitutionally large.” 🤬 I’m 6 foot and H is 6’1.
@orbmaker SO tedious to tag mobilely (not a word, but--)! My mom went to art school but then went back for education, so that's cool! And thanks for your reassurance about the gut punch.
@kantobean Wahh I need some of your tallness! I just want a few more inches. I just want to be able to reach shelves without a stepstool (I'm 5 foot 1 & 3/4 inches--the exact same height as my brother's gf? Bc when you're 5'1&3/4'', you know exactly how tall you are... says 5'2'' on my license, as I always say...)
@lusineg I HATE not knowing things, I could never make it a whole pregnancy without knowing! @jpalacios892 I've always been terrible at drinking water or much of anything and I still haven't changed my ways just yet.... I hate drinking water. @kagesstarshroom I'll have to look that up, I love glass blowing! I'd like to go to a class sometime. @kantobean that seems a little rude to say that about you and your husband. I would probably be a little upset! @orbmaker my son has been testing me lately and it's driving me nuttttssss..... I haven't got the patience or energy! I let his daddy take him outside when he comes home.
EDD/W+D: March 18/6weeks
Team finding out/pink/blue/green: finding out
Baby is the size of a(n): sweet pea
Upcoming appts: 1 more blood draw tomorrow and I got a free ultrasound next week!
How are you feeling?: Trying not to think about it.... Worried about what we will see on my ultrasound.
Rants/Raves: I desperately need some cake. Or cupcakes
Questions: anyone have good recipes for desserts?
GTKY: What was your favorite subject/class in school? Art
Team finding out/pink/blue/green: would be so happy with either!
Baby is the size of a(n): appleseed
Upcoming appts: tomorrow 7/25 at 6w+2d. I miscarried at 8wks 2d in March and want to make sure my bloodwork and everything checks out earlier on. They *might* be able to detect heartbeat this early.
How are you feeling?: Extremely tired and very sore boobs
Rants/Raves: Being pregnant while taking care of a 2.5 year old is extremely exhausting! I'm also in my busiest season of work (wedding photographer) and it's making it hard to stay focused.
Questions: none right now!
GTKY: What was your favorite subject/class in school? Art
Me: 34, DH: 33 // Met: 10.21.2007 // Married: 9.18.2015 BFP: 4.29.2016 // EDD: 1.2.2017 (IT'S A BOY!) Born 12/26/16 BFP: 2.10.19 // and MC on 3.19.19 BFP: 7.9.19 // EDD 3.16.20
@projectalice I made DH a peanut butter cake for his birthday, and it was really good! Here's the recipe I used (I think--it's the most recent recipe for a PB cake I have saved on Pinterest--) GL w/ yr BD today!
Team finding out/pink/blue/green: most definitely! I don’t have the patience to wait, lol
Baby is the size of a(n): Apple seed
Upcoming appts: ultrasound on Monday 7/29!!!
How are you feeling?: mildly nauseous and extremely fatigued
Rants/Raves: No rants, just thrilled to be PAIF
Questions: Does anyone know if women who produce higher amounts of HCG tend to make more with each subsequent pregnancy? Or is there no rhyme or reason, lol. Just curious because they were on the higher side with my daughter and now they’re much higher!
EDD/W+D: March 23 5w/4d. Based off my ovulation. Hoping OB doesn’t just go off LMP.
Team finding out/pink/blue/green: team finding out foooo shoooo!
Baby is the size of a(n): opening of a straw!
Upcoming appts: August 12th first OB appt. THE WAIT IS KILLING ME.
How are you feeling?: I have had period type cramps off and on every day since I found out almost 2 weeks ago. Bloated, very gassy Lower back pain, lots of creamy discharge. I wake up many nights in severe lower abdomen pain, have a BM and then it’s relieved. OB isn’t concerned. I think it may be IBS so trying to cut out wheat but it scares me every time bc I am so scared of MC. Trying to feel excited but also very anxious. It’s my first.
Rants/Raves: My OBGYN won’t be the one that will be delivering, it will be whoever is working on the unit that day. So that’s not very comforting.
Questions: @lusineg I have told my husband, 2 of my best friends, and my mom. We will be telling my in-laws in a couple weeks. I kind of regret this but also know I’ll need the support if anything goes wrong.
GTKY: What was your favorite subject/class in school? Never a fan of any subject in high school LOL! But psychology for sure in college. I’m a licensed clinical social worker now!
@mrsc918 I don’t think there is any right or wrong time to tell people you’re expecting! Whatever you and your husband feel comfortable with is the right answer for you!! We have told my mom and a couple very close friends but won’t tell the in-laws until after our first US! And yes the wait until the first appt is killer!!
3/24. I had a US last Monday, which put me at 5w2d, so based on that I’m 6w1.
I have a US on Wednesday morning. We are going to disney, so I’ll be gone for a month. Doc wanted me to get in before I leave, and I’m worried it’ll be too early for a HB.
I’m tired and have serious stomach issues (everything is leaving me but not in the vomiting way).
I’m starting a new teaching job in the fall, so I’m terrified they will terminate me after the year since I’m unexpectedly pregnant.
my favorite subject in HS was math and drama. But I currently teach chemistry, so that’s my new love.
