My husband and I are considering the name Harvey for a boy or girl. I know this is a boy name but I just love it for a little girl too. Everything I've read says don't name your girl this...curious as to what your thoughts are?
OP. Click on the “knottie username” thread please. It’d also be nice for you to intro, if you haven’t already.
It’d be nice to change this to a thread for everyone to participate in, so consider doing that instead of your specific question, or posting in the Randoms thread or the baby name board
But since you’re asking, all I associate that name with is Harvey Weinstein, so not the best outlook. The name itself is fine, but not my pick, especially not for a girl.
I don't understand how people make a TB account and wait the 72 hr waiting period (or in her case, a YEAR) just to ask questions like this. In the wrong place.
@Knottie1434415611 , if you're hoping to find someone to tell you that naming a baby girl Harvey is a good idea.... unfortunately you're not going to get that from me.
Harvey Weinstein jacked off into plants in front of unwilling and horrified (now traumatized) women. So I'm with @MrsVP614. What do your IRL friends think?
Until it’s socially acceptable to name boys girl names, I don’t think girls should get boy names. I hate the double standard. Harvey has such a negative connotation right now with Harvey Weinstein that I wouldn’t do it for either sex.
Not that I think this user is actually here for advice, I’m out on Harvey, too. Both because of Weinstein, and as a Texas girl, hurricane Harvey is still pretty fresh. Hard pass.
@JenEP That’s an interesting thought. I’m a girl with a boys name, and my mom also has a (different) boys name, so if we have a girl, she’ll have a boys or neutral name.
