My kids have really cavity prone teeth and in an attempt to eliminate all opportunities for sugar to sit on their teeth we have removed juice from our house. However, I have had to by some to mix with water because of MS and every time they ask me for it I just tell them it’s beer. I guess they haven’t picked up on the fact that you shouldn’t drink during pregnancy, so no questions asked. To them I am basically drink beer all day recently.
@DDRRT1982 haha DS is young enough that I can pull that on him too! If we don’t want to share a food or drink, all we have to say is that it has beer in it 😆
My pregnancy gassiness has been really rough this go round. Thankfully, my husband has sleep apnea and sleeps with a breathing machine. So he has no idea of the terrors I release all night every night. Can’t say the same for my dog, though.
I don’t love being a SAHM in the summer with my 2 year old. I do better working and she enjoys daycare more than being home with me even though I try to plan fun things for her.
I don’t enjoy playing dolls with my kids. It is all they want to play all day long and it drives me bonkers. I’m all for hide and seek, ball, chase, kitchen, duplo, etc. but dolls is the absolute worst. How many times can we pretend these dolls are meeting for the first time and discussing their hair?
@doodleoodle I'm a terrible Mom- I hate playing any of those things with my kid! I love that he does imaginative play now, but I do not want to sit on the floor or be part of any of his story lines. He'll probably be super happy and relieved to have a sibling in the end haha.
@doodleoodle Agreeeee. I despise playing dolls and stuff like that. And my daughter always ends up making one of them to be a brat, and then I have to be the Mom and reprimand them and it is SO annoying. I always end up telling her that I am done playing since she wants her Barbies to act like brats. lol
A manager from another department decided to approve a project that doesn't really fall into what we do. I'm manager of the creative team and even though I'm very upset - a part of me can't wait to rip him a new one at a meeting on Monday. He's out today so I sent a very detailed and sassy email that I needed to talk to him and that things need to go through me when dealing with my department.
I get irrationally angry when people say they had an emergency csection when it was simply unplanned. Its only an emergency if baby is literally dying (baby’s having an extending decel). If you had to go back for a csection because you pushed for 3 hours and baby was tolerating it but you just weren’t making progress, that’s not an emergency.
@daffodil_shoe that really grinds my gears as well. Mainly because I had a true emergency, followed by ptsd. I still struggle with that birth and it was 8 yrs ago. I never bring it up irl because I also can't stand the "my birth was worse than your birth" game, but I do wish people were a bit more sensitive. But I wish that often about a lot of things lol.
@jennv0701 that’s part of why it drives me nuts. I’ve consoled moms who had to be put under and didn’t get to lay eyes on their new baby for hours because they had to recover in PACU. (Though not all emergencies require being put under if they had an epidural that was strong enough to make it through surgery).
I yelled at my mom today because she was undermining me while I was disciplining my daughter(in a gritted teeth calm tone). I told her she was the one that taught me how to be a mom so if she doesn't like my parenting style to take a hard look at herself. She didn't like that and full on burst into tears in the middle of the store making a giant scene. Guess I get mother and daughter of the year!
