Re: Anatomy Scan Discussion

  • @kbee08 some of my measurements have the percentile on the u/s results and i've got about half over 50%.

  • @kbee08 at our first AS scan baby was measuring in the 75% and my midwife wasn't worried at all. I had a follow up last week and baby was down to the 50% babies go through growth spurts in the womb just like out so like others have said take it with a bit of grain of salt and don't put too much thought into it unless the dr seems worried.
  • Thanks, guys. That makes me feel better. My husband and I are both really small, so I wasn't expecting that size estimate and didn't know if it was kind of a red flag for the gestational diabetes. Definitely going to try not to worry about it since the doctor isn't worried!
  • @kbee08 they didn't give me a percentile either but at my anatomy scan they said LO was measuring about a week ahead (and we're pretty darn sure of the conception date). DS was 8lb 13oz at birth and has consistently been about 70th percentile all along at his well visits, so this one's probably just big too.

@kbee08 we were measuring in the 85th percentile for weight at the 20-week...I am choosing to believe that baby had just gone through a growth spurt, and I am NOT expecting a 10 pound baby. 😭 But there really is a big margin of error for these things!!
  • Just came back from the midwife and got a few more results from our AS. Overall babe looks good, was measuring in the 97th percentile (I'm focusing on remembering the margin of error for these things). There was a borderline femur-to-foot ratio (which is a low-level soft marker). The midwife said it was like 0.1mm which could just be where they put the cursor on the screen. We've already had NIPT screening and that came back negative so I'm trying to not stress about it. Overall a good appointment. HB was 140-150.
