Yesterday I had a meeting that made me late for my kids well check so feeling like I failed at mom-ing. By the time we got home I was so exhausted I passed out without cooking or cleaning or doing a single thing so failing at domestic life. Had to get up ultra early for a crack of dawn site launch so feeling exhausted and like I'm failing at taking care of my body's needs. Forgot my laptop because I don't usually bring it home but that late meeting made me have to bring it so I was late to my launch so failing at work too.
I forgot this was how I felt the last time I was pregnant and throughout the entirety of newborn/baby phase. Like pregnancy is a full-time thing, being a mom is full-time, working is full-time, my poor husband never makes it to the top of the list... There isn't enough time or energy to go around, no one cares that the expectations are unreasonable, and the world around you acts like 'well you signed up for this'.
@craftywitch I’m sorry! I feel your pain. I’m also a working mom and it’s so difficult to juggle everything sometimes. It doesn’t help when you feel like crap because of being pregnant either. Some days just freakin suck.
Mine is totally a first world problem. WTF Best Buy delivery guy? Our ice maker has been broken for weeks now and we have been waiting for delivery of our new one. We waited at home for 7 hours on Saturday only to have them call and say the truck broke down. Instead of putting us at the top of the list for the next day, we got moved to the back of the line. My MIL is waiting at our house now for delivery and they are running late again!
Aside from it being the middle of summer in TX, I am missing my ice! And, the wife of my kid’s tball coach is giving me the side eye for our games since she thinks his water isn’t cold enough. Mind your business, lady!
@therealbitts Okay that's annoying. Yes you need ice! lol
Mine would probably be that I'm getting harassing phone calls that are for my brother-in-law. I don't know if it's a debt collector or what but they wanted me to take information down and I refused to. The guy got all upset and yelled at me and told me he would keep calling my WORK until I cooperated. I was very angry to say the least! I called back and left a message that had a lot of cursing and anger lol. I was like "I pay my bills and if you want to harass me by calling my work you've messed with the wrong girl because I can be a real blank blank". I reported them to the FTC and everything. I'm just irrationally angry. I am expecting phone calls so I can't just ignore them all.
@daffodil_shoe I love outlander!! The books were so good!! I like the series too. The casting is really spot on based on how I imagined the characters from the book.
@therealbitts I had never heard of the books or the show til I was scrolling through Netflix a few weeks ago. It was supposed to be a show for DH and I to watch together but he was so bored from the first episode. I continued by myself and told him he should’ve stuck with it! I just started season 2 yesterday.
It’s 90+ degrees outside. WTF to people leaving their dogs in cars and overheating. I’ve seen one today that the cops brought in after smashing someone’s window to save the poor dog. His temp was 106 and was having heatstroke.
PSA- don’t leave your dog in a car if it’s over 60 degrees outside
@daffodil_shoe yes, the outlander series is one of the best I’ve ever read. Well, i listened to the audio books, so I guess that counts as reading. If you like the show, you’d definitely enjoy the books. Jamie, swoon!!
@kiwi2628 Ugh people are the worst! My husband works at a casino and they've called the cops many times for patrons leaving elderly people (I'm sure kids too!!) while they come in and gamble for a few hours. Last one i heard about was a 92 year old lady in a Chicago winter with the car not running!!!
Mine is that my DD’s 2nd birthday is on Saturday and people have bought her so much crap. I know that sounds super first world problemy, but I just want to minimize the clutter and “need” for material possessions. I’ve asked people to get her zoo trips or take her to museums or lunch dates. And I know it’s easier to go out and get a toy, but why so many?!?!
I forgot to post my wtf.
My work computer is about to be thrown out a 17th floor window. I can no longer access a program that I've had installed for years, it's running out of space, and being generally AWFUL.
I'm traveling with some people, including my boss for work, and last night they wanted to go to a pizza/wings/beer joint for dinner. No big deal, I tagged along and had a coke. At one point during dinner my boss leaned over and said, "You should have a beer or two. Beer makes babies grow strong!" Ummm, dude, wtf. 1) That is not true and 2) I don't drink beer even when I'm not pregnant; I don't like the taste. He knows this.
So a family member begged me to drive an hour and 45 minutes to help deliver her dog's puppies. I ended up doing it because I hate disappointing people. Pack all three kids up, drive there, help with the delivery(first time young mom dog) and then went to sleep for 5 hours just to get up pack up kids again and drive home for my tots appointment......... that the effing nurse forgot! I mean I'm pregnant and exhausted already but add all that poopy drama to the mix and I feel like a freaking wraith walking around my house all zoned out.
We are almost done replacing all of our floors and painting the first floor of our house after a burst pipe back in FEBRUARY. Today another pipe burst. Wtf!
