Help Please, HCG dropping and now rising

Good afternoon. I really need some advice please. 

I am almost 7 weeks pregnant and my HCG levels were rising nicely until Friday when they dropped (44, 94, 221, 754, 2335, 4481, 11765, 16650, drop to 14000, and today 20667). The doctors said I am miscarrying. Does anyone know if the baby may be still ok? Or why it would drop and rise again? I'm doing very well with not stressing out but this is scary. Please help me. Thank you so much!

I've had an ectopic in the past but the baby is in the right place this time with a heartbeat and all as of last week Wednesday. Thanks again.

After an ultrasound with heartbeat why are they still monitoring HCG?

Ya, I was under the impression that after a certain gestation and hcg level hcg is not reliable indicator of how the pregnancy is progressing.  With you seeing a hb on ultrasound I would think that’s the way to monitor.  I must be missing something?

@DDRRT1982 that’s what I’ve heard too. I thought it was normal to rise at first but then taper off or level out?
