I concerned about my kid safety on the internet

Hello parents. I've never faced this prblem before but I started questioning myself if it's safe to leave my kids surfing the net alone? Today I was reading some article and noticed that some porn ad came out on the corner of my screen. I thought that the same could happen to my kid so I started looking for a solution. I found this page www.familyfriendlydns.com and downloaded app into my windows. Would like to know if it blocks every inappropriate ad or just some pages?
