I donโt really see the difference in joining a Facebook group with this group and the random breastfeeding and BST groups Iโm in. I get the fear in theory but itโs probably a smaller risk than it seems. ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ

@mrsinterweb, the tribute picture is what we've been discussing as far as vetting. So each poster who wanted into the private group would submit their "tribute photo" either to one of the mods or posted in the private group (I can't remember which). Depending on what we decide, the photo would likely have to include your bump, maybe your face, and some type of article we all agree on (like a random object, for example Sept BMB chose a pineapple, or a notecard that reads the date and your TB username).
But yes, the tribute name is very Hunger Games -esque ๐
I was a mod for the Parenting FB group and we only had 2 mods. ย It was definitely too few.
For my January 2014 group, we had 3 mods and it seemed sufficient. ย We also had a process in place to replace mods as people had times in their lives that they didnโt think they could contribute as much time to it as needed.
I might be in the minority, but I am of the opinion that everyone should provide a โproof of lifeโ pic and not an ultrasound pic. ย I just feel like that is too easy to fabricate.
@quidditchcapn1120 in most cases I agree. The option should only be very specific cases. But the main person it pertains to is one of the most/if not top most active person here. I donโt think itโs fair to force someone with body image problems to do something they are not comfortable with. However if it were a non regular poster I wouldnโt be comfortable with it.

@cmbt2 I'm struggling too, which is why I'm sometimes not as active in the group. I'm trying to laugh at the stretch marks and weight gain that is ahead of where it should be, but it's difficult. I want a healthy baby, first and foremost, but I also want to be healthy when the baby arrives, so I try to protect myself from unneeded attention. I imagine others feel this way, so I try to speak up for those who are afraid to say anything (or for those who aren't afraid, but deserve to see the support around them).
But I must admit, I laughed when you said we can even have your face. I was thinking, no thanks, I have my own. ๐คฃ

ETA: My point is that I think we should have a pic of a person to prove they actually are a person. ย I donโt care if itโs a bump picture or not since anyone can make it look like they are pregnant in a picture anyway. ย Just more of some type of pic that canโt be fabricated and has a person in it.
I agree with everything! We did a PG and facebook in my last pregnancy. I felt like the facebook page was harder to keep up with because i never knew what I had read or didn't. Eventually we went from a PG to a proboards group and used that for a very long time. I really liked that. It's more user friendly, but still has a few glitches.ย ย
I'm totally fine with bump pics if that's what the group wants! Idk that it's necessary, we never did that last time, but totally willing to if you guys would prefer. @cmbt2 you make me laugh, we can have your face but not your bump. But I feel like that's a pretty fair compromise and you're probably one of the most active members on here!

@telicious2, my assumption is that the answers to both of your questions would be yes: yes, ALL users admitted to the private group will be able to vote for members who request entry (just that super users will be added first), and yes, anyone who does not receive the required number of love-tits will be notified. It seems cruel and unnecessary to just leave someone hanging!
1) I think 3 or 5 admins is perfect we had 3 for my sept 14 BMB and shortly after we transitioned to FB there was a huge falling out I think about voting on members or something which led to a split to 2 FB groups. We never had a Pg and I like the idea so that if a split or rift did happen it would be before a move to FB.ย
2) I like the bump pic idea, I think it definitely helps weed some out.ย
3)Iโm unsure if I like the love-tit count because I feel like I post here but my love-tits donโt always click because Iโm mobile and sometimes the app is silly.ย

I like all the suggestions!! I donโt mind posting a bump in the personal group. Like Iโve said before I know I donโt get on much but Iโm real lol I just quit work so Iโll have a lot more free time besides ya know taking care of my other 2 kids ha ha. My app is also not very user friendly, I can never get it to log me on and stay on and the the discussions never want to load. Iโm having to go actually online to see everything so therefore I donโt get notifications ๐
I know nothing because in S16 we went straight to FB, no private group here on TB. I do agree with 3 or 5 mods, then some sort of vote!ย
We did the same thing with our April 14 group. I'm not sure I'd get that many vote though because I haven't been too active. I really like the group for support though especially once the babies are born and we're up in the middle of the night feeding them. Sometimes it's nice to have someone to message that will respond and totally understands what you're going through in the moment.ย

Late to post, but my 2 previous groups went to a private fb group and the opening to joining the groups were only there for a certain amount of time and then it closes. ย I really donโt remember what the rules were for getting in though, but my fb group from sept 15 is still super active and close. ย I apparently am not totally familiar with TB or maybe bc Iโm mobile, but do the private groups on here work the same as this public group pretty much?ย

Are the love tits going to be in a thread in the PG or on the main board? If itโs in the PG, then would it make sense to scale the number so that itโs some percentage (50%? 75%) of the PG members? So for example if there are 10 people already in the PG, then you need say 7 votes but if there are 20 members than you need 15 votes? It would be a little complicated to keep track, but that way new members are more or less agreed upon by a majority of the PG members.ย

Agreed with @greenbean-2 , based on the number of super-posters that you originally invite in, it should be maybe 80%+ of the number that give a love tit (IMO). So if you add 10ย people initially, then 8 of the 10 would need to love-tit the new person. I hope that makes sense, my brain isn't working and work has been crazy (hence my lurking and not posting much these past few days).
