    Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 38+4; 7/4

Baby is the size of a(n): mini watermelon

    Team: Blue

    Upcoming Appointments: weekly checkup Friday

How are you feeling?: very tired and stretched to the max. so impatient and pray that every cramp I feel is myself going into labor

Rants/Raves:  i have gained less weight this pregnancy and am swollen less in all areas, except my belly is much bigger! my little stretch mark from the first has expanded and I am just sooo ready to get this party started! so much anxiety about the unknown

    Questions: no

GTKY:  What is something that you could know or do that would bring peace to you about the impending labor & delivery? knowing when it will happen & that everyone will be healthy. if I knew all would turn out ok, any amount of pain would not bother me.

  • @Panaceia I’m sorry you’re feeling nervous about delivery in regards to your DD. I feel that too, it’s hard not to when you’ve got so much love for your littles.
@nagrom9319 sometimes it feels like a big joke that baby continues to stretch us past our maximum for a month or two at the end. Let us be comfy while we grow a human!

    Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 7/19 36+3

Baby is the size of a(n): head of romaine lettuce

    Team: Green

Upcoming Appointments: Midwives on Thurs, MFM ultrasound on Monday

How are you feeling?: good but now that I’m in the final stretch I’m anxious for labor to start so that I can stop worrying about pregnancy related issues

Rants/Raves:  almost ready for LO! DH washed all the cloth diapers yesterday and I just need to organize my home birth supplies now. Rant is that I need to hire a sibling doula most likely and I am having a hard time finding one.

Questions: What is everyone doing for childcare of their other children

GTKY:  What is something that you could know or do that would bring peace to you about the impending labor & delivery? Who is caring for my child and if I could be certain I or baby won’t need a hospital transfer

  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 37 weeks + 5 days (38 on Wednesday)

Baby is the size of a(n): baby!

    Team: pink

Upcoming Appointments: this Friday, 38 weeker

How are you feeling?: over it. Want this baby out now.

Rants/Raves:  rants, I’m super hormonal and everything is making me rage-y or emotional. Rave, I’m almost done

    Questions: nada

GTKY:  What is something that you could know or do that would bring peace to you about the impending labor & delivery?

I have a lot of peace about everything coming up. I trust my healthcare providers and I know that everything will be okay even if it doesn’t go according to my plans. Most nervous/excited about DS meeting his sister.

    <3 Boden Gray 8-13-16
    <3 BB Girl Expected 7-10-19

  • @mamanbebe in regards to child care, I am lucky to have my parents close by and they are taking DS for as long as we need them. We also have some of DH’s family on back-up and have asked for their help getting DS out of the house to have some undivided attention in the early days.

    <3 Boden Gray 8-13-16
    <3 BB Girl Expected 7-10-19

  • @Panaceia it’s scary to think about DD1 but all will be okay and I’m sure she’ll grow to love her sibling more than she thinks she will at this given moment!

@Panaceia wow very excited! wishing you rest over the next 2 days.

@nagrom9319 i feel the same regarding hoping ever cramp is labor starting and i'm only 36+4!

    Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: July 18th // 36+4

Baby is the size of a(n): Papya

Team: Green (but had my first dream regarding LO and it was a SHE)

Upcoming Appointments: weekly now, so Thursday.  No more ultrasounds unless i hit 40 weeks.  BP, Weight, Fundal measurement and cervix check.

How are you feeling?: Lucky.  I'm sleeping a ton. I think it's good for me, but at the same time i'm in for a rude awakening once LO arrives.  Right now I go to sleep at like 10pm and get up 2-3x a night to go pee and am having zero problems (knock on wood) falling back asleep.

Rants/Raves:  Not that i'm worried, but I know there are a million little things I've forgotten and will end up ordering those first couple weeks.  Last night MH and I walked through Target, i had done laundry and realized i didn't have a good newborn option for LO coming home.  (my top choice is a 0-3/8-12lbs but I want to make sure i have that is smaller just in case).  It was so fun, that was the first time MH and i actually purchased any baby clothes.  We also found a shark swim top (12M) that we had seen on a baby during our babymoon and of course had to purchase that...I also realized we hadn't purchased any wipes so we got some of those as well.  But i got a smaller container because i'm worried of rashes and don't want to over commit yet.

    Questions: not today

GTKY: knowing when and of course knowing we have a health baby.  last night i had a dream i went into labor and then the next thing i knew MH was in my hospital bed holding LO and i was standing next to him.  I think this is my mind acknowledging there is an unknown event coming that i can't even dream about because i don't know what will happen.

Edit: because I just realized BPP is not blood pressure-whoops.

  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 37 weeks

Baby is the size of a(n): skunk

    Team: pink

    Upcoming Appointments: today!

How are you feeling?: good  just wish my restless legs would go away

Rants/Raves:  I’ve been 2cm and 50% for 2 weeks now. No progression. Except for the fact that she’s super low now!

    Questions:

GTKY:  What is something that you could know or do that would bring peace to you about the impending labor & delivery? That I could make it through without an epidural. I don’t want one and I’ll just be disappointed in myself if I have to have medical intervention or an epidural. I hate the way the epidural makes me feel!

  • @bartonolivia I wish the same! I know there's some things I just cannot control, but I will be so disappointed in myself if I give up! we got this girl!
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days:  July 15th / 37 weeks

Baby is the size of a(n):  romaine lettuce

    Team:

    Upcoming Appointments:  Thursday 6/27

How are you feeling?:  Tired, hungry - wish I could eat more (can't with heartburn/indigestion issues), anxious about delivery being so close

Rants/Raves:  Not really a rant, cause I know people mean well, but I'm tired of being asked if I'm ready... is anyone ever really ready for this?

    Questions:

GTKY:  What is something that you could know or do that would bring peace to you about the impending labor & delivery?   Wish I could know how everything will go with labor and delivery, that the baby will be healthy, what I'm going to go through post-partum, whether I'll be able to breastfeed like I plan to, etc....  so many unknowns!

  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days:

    7/7 - 38+1

Baby is the size of a(n):

    Winter Squash

    Team:

    Pink

    Upcoming Appointments:

    Thursday weekly OB visit

    How are you feeling?:

Overall, good enough that I feel like I shouldn’t complain... but today I’m feeling a wicked increase in pelvic pressure. LO was already head down and low before. At our last check up, Dr. said that we look ready - so it could be any day, for us. My OB doesn’t like to go more than a week past due date, so it’ll be anytime in these next 3 weeks!

    Rants/Raves:

DH is bring a big help and encouragement these past few days, and his excitement is helping me focus on positivity. I feel very lucky to have him.

MIL still won’t let me have pineapple. I’m never going to convince her of that one.

We had a leaky ceiling in the baby’s closet last week. It turned out to be a fluke thing where rain flew at the perfect angle threw a vent up in the attic for long enough to collect a puddle just over the closet. We haven’t gotten it fixed yet... the first contractor was a no show, and we are scrambling to find someone else. All of LO’s stuff is spread out on the guest room bed for now.

    Questions:

GTKY:  What is something that you could know or do that would bring peace to you about the impending labor & delivery?

At this point, my nerves are mostly about the actual labor and delivery process. If I could know in advance how it’s all going to play out, that would be lovely. For now, I am going back through my birthing book and reminding myself of all the babies that have already been born in the history of the world.

  • @keebler6elf  What is the pineapple thing?  Also, I find what you said helpful, about "reminding myself of all the babies that have already been born in the history of the world."
  • CbeanzCbeanz member
@mamanbebe If you go into labor middle of the night maybe your son will sleep through it...?  But a child doula is probably the best idea.

We have my mom flying out in 2 weeks. Originally she was just flying out to see the baby, not necessarily watch my other 3.  If I don't make it to 39 weeks, we don't have childcare and I'm really uneasy about it.  I have had a few friends volunteer to stand in, but they are mostly working moms of other young kids so it's not feasible.

Plus, no one realizes how much of a handful 3 young kids is. It's more than your typical high-school-age "babysitter" can handle.  3 kids requires a pro.  And for folks about to have your 3rd baby, you are about to see what I am talking about!  It is so much work just to keep 3 kids safe, fed, and halfway clean.

I looked on care.com but didn't find anyone for emergency-middle-of-the-night type jobs. I may move my mom's flight earlier but any date seems like a complete random guess.
  • @mamahmh2 That's really great that you all are close enough to family to be able to lean on them, I wish we had some that were close by.
@cbeanz I can only imagine trying to find care for three, I hope something works out that isn't too stressful. I also had a few moms from my son's school offer to take him but they have kids and lives and jobs and I really don't think they can offer what we need. I've reached out to a few doulas to see if they offer child care support during labor, but I also was able to find a few potentials on Care.com by filtering with 'doula' keyword.

I know my mom would come out if we were really in a pinch.. but with how it went last time I don't know if I want to even go down that road.

Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: Almost 37

Baby is the size of a(n): Baby!

    Team: Green

Upcoming Appointments: BPP Friday that hubs gets to join! Excited to see the baby again and maybe get a best guess for delivery date from my OB

How are you feeling?: Ready, in terms of "stuff" but nervous about all the unknowns

    Rants/Raves:

    Questions:

GTKY:  What is something that you could know or do that would bring peace to you about the impending labor & delivery? I just wish I knew the date so I could have childcare lined up. It's funny how pregnancy plays mind games with you in so many ways. Everything is such a mystery despite our best medical technology. You never know when baby decides to show up, you never know what they are going to look like or who they are going to be. It's just funny.

  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 7/13, 37+2

Baby is the size of a(n): baby

Upcoming Appointments: had a check up today. Nice and quick belly measure and heart beat check. Go back next Friday

How are you feeling?: the heartburn is really killing me, but overall still pretty well

Rants/Raves:  we had my oldest’s birthday party yesterday since his actual birthday is the day before my due date. Such a fun day, I can’t believe he’s almost 5!!

    Questions: nope

GTKY:  What is something that you could know or do that would bring peace to you about the impending labor & delivery?

My first two deliveries have been so different. First was 16 hours, second was less than 3 hours. Would love to know how this one will unfold

Baby is the size of a(n): some kind of lettuce, I forget😏

    Team: blue

    Upcoming Appointments: Wednesday

How are you feeling?: Tired, ready to hold my baby!!

Rants/Raves:  Just enjoying summertime and playing outside with my kiddos. Housecleaning is officially done!!

    Questions: none

GTKY:  What is something that you could know or do that would bring peace to you about the impending labor & delivery? Prayer and scripture.  I know that no matter what happens, God's got this and he will give me strength! It took awhile to get here, and I still get anxious sometimes, but I have peace! I'm just ready to do it! Both of my other two were pretty traumatic births, so I have a lot of people praying that this time will be different ❤

  • @hinotes You know how there are a lot of pregnancy beliefs out there that are passed down through generations? My MIL believes everything that everyone ever told her about what can cause miscarriages, jump start labor, and keep a pregnant woman and her baby healthy - regardless of whether there is any scientific fact or not. When she was in labor in India several decades ago, pregnant women were given pineapple juice to supposedly help with their labor. The belief is that if you consume any pineapple, it could start contractions (and if it's too early in the pregnancy, that would not be great). The thing is, this theory has been around long enough to have been scientifically disproven. But my MIL refuses to accept that, and even at 38 weeks and with my OB saying "anytime", she still doesn't want me eating or drinking anything with pineapple.

I think I only want it because it is being denied to me.
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 38+0

Baby is the size of a(n): walrus

    Team: Blue

    Upcoming Appointments: tomorrow

How are you feeling?: ugh this past week hit has gotten real. I keep having irregular, painful contractions and tons of pressure as baby moves lower. With my first, I never had a real contraction until I was actually in labor and so now I feel so tricked , haha

Rants/Raves: Done with shifts at work and just have some administrative stuff left

Questions: when is this baby gonna make an appearance??

GTKY:  What is something that you could know or do that would bring peace to you about the impending labor & delivery?

Just knowing when and if it's the real deal - I am nervous about not being able to call my babysitter in time as she is about 20 mins away and the hospital is another 30...but I also don't want to have a false alarm (again).

@Bear14+ I probably should have said "in front of her". She does live with us, so she physically will take things out of my hands... I did buy some once, and she threw it away. If it's a drink, she drinks it so I can't... I didn't mean to imply that I follow the pineapple ban when I'm out somewhere. I definitely order pineapple fried rice a lot more often that I would otherwise, for one thing.

The thing is, I try to pick my battles with my MIL. The pineapple thing is a bit annoying, but I'm not going to get into an actual fight with her over it. I more decided to share it as a funny annoyance.
  • Sorry I missed the last couple. I haven’t been feeling well.
     Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 35 weeks 4 days 7/25
Baby is the size of a(n): pineapple
    Team: Blue
Upcoming Appointments: Thursday weekly appointment. 36 weeks will find out results of GBS test.
How are you feeling?: uncomfortable. I’m pretty sure dilation and effacement is progressing. Last week I was 1cm and 70% effaced. This week there have been several ‘episodes’ where I just feel pressure and I’m pretty sure it’s baby descending. That and BH have me on my toes, but my pregnancy ball and the pool are my friends.
Rants/Raves: I’m just happy to be in the safe baby zone. It’s taken so much to get here and to know that he’d have little to no NICU stay at this point and my body is assuming the position makes me excited even if it takes longer than I’d like.
    Questions: None
GTKY: What is something that you could know or do that would bring peace to you about the impending labor & delivery?
Well other than having a Chrystal ball to know the exact day, I think my focus now is on making sure my mind is fortified not to give up on the delivery I want.
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 39weeks, csection tomorrow

Baby is the size of a(n): pumpkin

     Team: blue

Upcoming Appointments: csection and tubal tomorrow

How are you feeling?: nervous. Ready for tomorrow to be done and over with.

Rants/Raves: honestly drawing all the blanks

Questions: csection moms, what was your breastfeeding journey like afterwards?

GTKY: What is something that you could know or do that would bring peace to you about the impending labor & delivery? Idk honestly.

Baby is the size of a(n): Pomeranian. Or, like everyone else has said, a baby 🤷

    Team: girl

    Upcoming Appointments: today

How are you feeling?: Ok. Pretty over it, but trying to keep her in for another week or so preferably.

Rants/Raves:  My husband has been so great throughout this whole thing ❤️

    Questions:

GTKY:  What is something that you could know or do that would bring peace to you about the impending labor & delivery? That my home renovations would be done before baby is born!

  • @keebler6elf I think I heard something similar about papaya (which also has digestive enzymes and is a myth, interesting) but had not heard the pineapple one!  Anyway, smart to pick your battles!

Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 7/1; 39 weeks

Baby is the size of a(n):  Cabbage patch kid

    Team: Pink

Baby is the size of a: Cabbage Patch Kid

Upcoming Appointments: OB’s office hasn’t gotten back to me about my appointment request for this week.  Like my doctor; not a huge fan of the office staff 🙄. I should call today.

How are you feeling?: Ready to be done.  But generally okay.  The pelvic pressure is real.  I ran a mile and swam a mile Sunday and felt like baby was going to fall out during the run part of that.  Also getting a lot of period-like cramping and BH, which are teasing me all day long, but obviously no regular contractions yet.

Rants/Raves:  At this point, not much to report beyond the above.  Waiting on baby is pretty much all-consuming. I’ve gone from being convinced she’d be early to being convinced she’s never coming out.  I’m still going in to the office, but I’ve wound down and rarely have anything to do these days, which is somewhat frustrating.  It would be better to have things to keep me busy and take my mind off things, but at the same time, it’s probably good not to have the stress of a long to-do list hanging over my head.  Particularly because I’m still very new at my job and trying to prove myself, so the pressure is on to produce excellent quality work product every single time (not that it isn’t always, but once you build some credibility, there’s a little more leeway).

    Questions: Nope.

    GTKY: When????

  • @hoodevil0611 I am not new at my job, and I'm still planning to work as long as I can.  I have been reassigning/delegating most of my work, since the baby could come soon (due date July 15), so I will have less and less to do as it gets closer, but your rant helps me to think that being here where I'm at least doing some work, attending meetings, etc., should help!
  • @hellmanpartyof5 I had an ECS with DD and it took 3 months for my milk to come in...but then I BFd until DD was almost 4 years old. I'm hoping with a scheduled CS this time that my milk comes in much quicker...but I am ready for a struggle again.
  • @hellmanpartyof5 I'll be thinking of you tomorrow! I had a planned cesarean. My milk came in quickly but I had low supply issues and so I stopped at around 4 weeks postpartum. The post-op pain medication that they give you can affect supply and also cause your baby to be sleepy at the breast, so I would just be mindful of that.
  • CbeanzCbeanz member
@hellmanpartyof5 did you breastfeed your previous babies?
My second was a CS and breastfeeding was a breeze. But I had breastfed my first so it all kind of came right back and felt easier second time around.

    Good luck tomorrow!!!
  • @hellmanpartyof5 I had an ecs with my second. Honestly breastfeeding was harder than with my first, but I don't necessarily blame the cs. Although she took awhile to be interested since the meds made her soo drowsy. But I'd say it's different for everyone! She did ok at first besides never nursing very long at a time. Then she started screaming most times I had a letdown. It did get better and we made it until 16 months. I think it was more a fast letdown issue. Praying your cs goes smoothly!! Get some rest❤
  • @cindler I'm sorry you're dealing with all of this. I also work with mostly older men, but I realized I have been pretty fortunate, because they were surprisingly supportive. I came up with my own plan for work and delegated stuff out, and not everyone was happy, but things need to get done, and it's only temporary. I'm definitely freaking out about the unknowns of how labor/delivery/afterwards will all play out (38 year old first time mom here). It's so tough to face the fact that I can't plan for or anticipate everything. I hope things get better for you!
  • CbeanzCbeanz member
@cindler your feelings are valid and I can empathize.

You WILL be able to survive the sleep deprivation. You WILL do great in labor and get through the pain. Your coworkers will be forced to learn their way without you. It's so hard when you're in the midst of all the chaos to believe you'll get out on the other side but you'll get there and it'll be good.
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: July 12 37+5

Baby is the size of a(n): weight of a small penguin

    Team: pink

Upcoming Appointments: Just had a check today (2cm) next one is July 2

How are you feeling?: I'm starting to relax. I've gotten a good amount done off my checklist and now I'm just waiting for Target to deliver the last couple things off my registry. Hospital bags are packed and my work schedule is finally calming down. Hoping these last two weeks are a bit more relaxing. Still feel like a fire breathing whale but not much can be done about that.

Rants/Raves:  I totally had terrible pregnancy brain and ordered a bunch of wrong things off my registry. (Adult hangers wrong sized closet drawers ect) of course online order only. Thankfully the target help desk gave me a second 15% off coupon to use so I'm super happy about that. Now I just have to wait 5-7 more days for shipping.

Questions: anyone make freezer meals yet? Any favorite go to meals or things to avoid?

GTKY:  What is something that you could know or do that would bring peace to you about the impending labor & delivery?

Just wish I could know if I'll have everything ready and done before she gets here. I honestly just need her to stay put until at least after the 4th of July. Also I wanna know what doctor is going to deliver her. There are two that I really like and trust and I am worried if it's not one of them I may say something stupid in the pain of labor to the doctors I'm not a fan of.

  • @mamanbebe we are lucky enough that my mom  and dad are on call for baby. And if all else fails my sister is also close by to manage our son. Worse comes to worse and he ends up in the room with us watching YouTube videos on our phone.

@bartonolivia I totally agree! There last thing I want is an epidural. With my first it failed and it was the worst experience so I'm not willing to go through it again.

@hoodevil0611 OMG how can you run at this point! I can barely walk a mile without wanting to die!
  • @Niesen27, very slowly and not that far, haha.  It actually feels great to run from about my belly button up. Everything that's going on below that is admittedly a different story.  It feels like I'm running with a bowling ball on my bladder... because I basically am.  But if I manage to get past the first few minutes it gets more manageable somehow.  Anyway, I've probably hung up my running shoes until after baby at this point (though I have been saying that for weeks and keep running anyway because it really does feel good apart from the pelvic pain).
