Re: TTTC Check-in: 06/17/2019

  • @hithertorue Bad weather always makes it hard to get outside... Hopefully it improves here shortly.
Your Sunday sounded both great and relaxing.
@littleredm Hope your ER went well.
@inthewoods23 Happy to hear about your update! Continuing to keep my fingers crossed for you.
@sincethelastday Hurrah for good US results! Hope your dinner went well.
@knockupthestock Awesome to hear your US went well and there's no malformation. Fingers crossed for this round for you.
Father's Day was pretty tough... With you there.
AFM: My husband and I had a great time Sunday. (Maybe even too much fun at the end ;)) It was awesome just getting away as the two of us. Well needed.
Tested Saturday and got a BFN. I've started spotting and cramping, AF is on the way. These next several months will be focusing on our new life and training for some half marathons later this summer and fall.
I'll probably reach out to some fertility clinics once we move down to our new city and find out when they'd be available to see us. I don't think I want to start any meds until after the half marathon in October.
QOTW: I'd love to see Bastille in concert. I keep an eye on their website constantly to see if they're coming around our area anytime soon haha.

@inthewoods23 So happy for you. I hope that you hear back from testing soon and get good results there as well.
@knockupthestock so glad that your US went well.
@chiblackhawkie I'm so sorry for the BFN. DH and I would take breaks in between fertility treatments too. I think it helps keep you sane when you have some time away from everything.

AFM: My ER went well on Saturday. They got 16 eggs and out of those 13 were fertilized. Tomorrow I'll hear how they've been developing for Day 3. I'm trying to stay optimistic but nervous as I know many people experience some steep drop offs going into Day 5.  The medicine has been rough, the Lupron shot was my trigger and it made me incredibly dizzy and nauseous and I was also put on cabergoline which also has made me nauseous. I still have some pain, especially in my right side from the ER. I talked to the nurse today and she said to continue medicating and if it persists then to let them know tomorrow and they'll have me come in for an ultrasound to see how things look. I kind of feel that I was under medicated for this, I mean I know most people don't experience tons of pain with the ER but I have experienced quite a bit and they did not provide me with much pain medication at all. My estrogen was too high so I'm going to be doing a FET now instead of a fresh transfer.
  • chiblackhawkie - fingers still crossed for you, though you know your body best. Hope that this summer is a great break for you and you have fun doing something not IF related at all. Also hope the job hunt, house sale and move goes well!! Stay in touch if you feel like it and let us know how you do in your races!!
    Me: 36 DH: 37 // Married: 2015 // TTC#1 Since: 2017 // PAWrents to 2 dogs: 6 yo female shepherd-malamute & 1 yo male weim/heeler mix // Dx: Unexplained endometriosis & adenomyosis 12/2020 // Rx: 2019: IUIx6 & IVF Retrieval Result: Abnormal/High Mosaic Laparoscopy/Excision - Surgery Sep 2021, Round #2 IVF Retrieval with new clinic - 2022
  • @chiblackhawkie now will be a good time to relax and forget about IF until you're all settled!

I don't think I posted here yet, but they were able to freeze another 3 embryos for a total of 6! Now we wait for the test results. I hope most are normal.

QOTW: What artist/band would you love to see live in concert?
Metal music or any rock band I think has really great, high energy in their shows. To pick right now I'd love to see Periphery again. They came out with an album back in April but they never come to WI and the Chicago dates always sell out so fast!

  • @chiblackhawkie so sorry :( i hope things go smoothly with the move x

@littleredm hope you get lots of embryos out of those fertilized eggs! sorry about the headaches. i have a horrible one today as well since AF came last night.

@inthewoods23 that is awesome... what month are you planning to transfer?

so I bought my IVF meds today. Eeek. pharmacist was super nice and we did a mock Follistim injection. still in a daze that this is really happening!

  • @chiblackhawkie i'm sorry about your BFN.  :( but i'm glad you and your husband had a good sunday! when are you moving, and are you moving far? good luck with that! moving is always exciting yet stressful. and that's impressive, a half marathon! very cool. i hope taking a break from IF treatments is good for you!

@littleredm glad your ER went well!! i'm so sorry it has been so rough with the medicine and pain from the procedure! i hope by now it's lessening for you.

@inthewoods23 6!! yay!!! so glad for you. FX for the test results.

QOTW: i really want to see Backstreet Boys with my husband hahaha. recently, we've been listening to their new CD a lot and i think it would just be so fun to go with DH. i saw them in concert a couple times back in the 90s, so itd be a fun experience to see them again as an adult, haha.

AFM: just chugging along in this TWW! 3 more days til our beta. i was feeling hopeful but now i'm not so sure. i keep thinking "what can i do to make it happen?" but i have to tell myself that other than following the RE's orders and BDing, there's not much i can do to control the situation. i'm going to california for a work conference in a couple weeks, and i'm going to make a stop at disneyland with one of my girl friends. i hope i can enjoy it and not be stressed about either (1) being pregnant or (2) the timing of everything and trying not to mess up our schedule of meds, US, and BD. planning is hard, cause i feel like my life is only planned on two week intervals!

married to DH on March 15, 2018 <3 TTC since May 2018
dx: PCOS, hypothroidism <3 tx: timed intercourse with meds (dexa, clomid, letrozole, metformin, trigger shots)
First TTGP: 5/9/19 BFN, 6/21/19 BFN, 7/29/19 BFN, 8/1/19 started a break from tx, 11/16/19 surprised with a BFP! LO born 7/7/20
Second TTGP: started meds for first cycle of tx on 10/13/21

  • @chiblackhawkie I'm really sorry about the negative test! I think taking a break can be a good thing, especially with big changes like a move. it's really positive you have another goal to focus on like training!

@inthewoods23 yay, 6 sounds great! Hope the tests go well.

@littleredm I'm glad that you got a good result with the fertilized eggs. Sounds like the trigger and the procedure were pretty rough.  I hope the pain goes away and you don't need an ultrasound. Fingers crossed for healthy embryos!

@knockupthestock I totally hear you about planning life in 2 week intervals! It's a complete calendar take over. I hope you have a great trip especially to Disneyland with your friend and can take your mind off of treatments for a few days! Fx for your test!

@nancinator good luck starting the ivf meds!  hope your side effects are minimal!

Afm, I'm just waiting between finishing a low dose of letrozole and testing for ovulation at home before BD. No US since it's a bit of a break month. I just found out my dad's in the hospital with gallbladder stones and pancreatitis :( sometimes life just keeps throwing things at you!

  • @chiblackhawkie - ugh, sorry about AF.  :/ As others have said though, it’s great that you have other goals and things to work on/look forward to. Hope your house sells soon and a great job lands in your lap! Also, totally would be down with seeing Bastille in concert!

@littleredm - sounds like you’ve really been through the wringer with the side effects and the pain of the ER. And nausea sucks!! I feel like I can deal with other side effects, but nausea is just the worst! Hope your pain went away. Did you end up needing the US? When’s your FET? Hope you have an easier time going forward!

@inthewoods23 - wow!! 6!! That sounds like a great number! When do you find out the results?

@nancinator - that was nice of the pharmacist to show you instead of just dumping the meds on you with no demonstration. Do you start meds right away? Doing a fresh transfer or FET?

@knockupthestock - totally get you with feeling like I only have two weeks to book things. It’s the only time I know I won’t have an US, etc booked to get in the way with plans. Hope the last few days of your TWW go by fast and that you have a fabulous time at Disneyland!! Hope it’s a welcome distraction!

@sara_tory - sorry to hear about your dad  :'( Hope he gets better soon and makes a full recovery! Hope this “break month” proves to be fruitful and that life in general gives you a break!

@hithertorue - hope you’re surviving the TWW! Thinking of you!

QOTW: I would have loved to see Adele in concert, but apparently she’s not touring anymore. I’ve heard that P!nk does fantastic shows, so would be up for seeing her. And there’s a few more indie artists I would love to see, like Christine and the Queens.

AFM: got my positive OPK yesterday and going in for my IUI later this morning. It’s a relief that DH is still here and we didn’t have to consider actually doing the freezing option after all. I hate how I’m already feeling hopeful that this will be the cycle where it happens. Nothing in particular is informing this feeling, but it is what it is. I’m off work for the next two weeks which will be pretty much the whole TWW, so hope to have a lot of distractions throughout.
  • Hey friends,

Thinking of you all and hope your week has gone well at whatever stage you are at!  <3

I haven't really checked in this week but have been reading along. TWW is going ok thus far, have found some fun stuff to do: DH and I went golfing last Friday and plan to do the same this week... and doing my acupuncture and had a massage yesterday. A few friends dates on the calendar to look forward to also! Not been symptom spotting at all this time around because I know how many "symptoms" I had last time that meant nothing. So been pretty laid back thus far. Still a ways to go to next week. I'm going to ask to do the beta one day earlier on Tuesday.

QOTW: honestly not much of a concert goer! I wish I could see Tragically Hip again. So sad when Gord Downie passed.

  • Hi All! I've been totally MIA but catching up and jumping in.

@chiblackhawkie - Really sorry to hear about your BFN. They suck. I'm envious/impressed you're taking on races while navigating this. I haven't done a triathlon in 2 years & miss them, but it's just felt like too much to have one more thing to take on. Plus I'm one of the overly cautious who always pauses working out much during the TWW. It's great you're keeping that going. Good luck with the move too.

@littleredm - Hope you've received good news since you posted. Sorry to hear you are in pain. Hoping they gave you something more or that it's subsided.

@inthewoods23 - Congrats on the embroys - hoping you've gotten more good news on that front.

@nancinator - That leap to injections (assuming that is where you are - sounded like it) is a little daunting/intense. I just did follistim on my last 2 IUI cycles and it wasn't bad. For me - lining it up and then not looking worked & I hate needles. Good luck!

@knockupthestock - Hope the TWW is moving quickly and you're finding good stuff to keep you busy. Hoping for good news for you.

@sara_tory - A "break" month (of sorts) can be good. And totally understood on those moments it feels like life just won't ease up for you - my husband and I have had some of that in the last couple years (probably all of us on this board have really). Hope your Dad is doing well and improved.

@sincethelastday - Hope the TWW is flying for you. It sounds like you're in good company with some others on the board too.

@hithertorue - Golf and acupuncture are 2 things I find really relaxing - they sound like a good way to pass the TWW. And agreed on symptom spotting. I've had months where I was sure it worked based on symptoms and no luck. I think not reading into anything as much as possible is a good way to preserve sanity.

AFM - Going to post separately just so I can include a TW. Hope that works.

QOTW: It's so cliche, but Dave Matthews Band outside in summertime was always fun.

  • well, we had our beta today and it was a BFN....less than 1mIU/mL. i was actually pretty hopeful this time, so that sucks. but the clinic said we will do one more month of TI and then if that doesn't work, we will move on to IUI. so now i just have to wait for AF....last time she didnt come until 8 days after my beta. so who knows when she will show up this time haha.

@sara_tory i hope your dad is doing better!! so sorry that happened. hang in there!

@sincethelastday how was your IUI? i hope you're doing well in your TWW!

@hithertorue glad you guys are having some fun! FX for tuesday!

i hope you all have a great weekend!
