  • Est Due Date/Weeks + Days: 1/18 , 8w2d

Baby is the size of a(n): Raspberry!

Upcoming Appointments: F/U Growth scan on Wednesday!

How are you feeling?: Mostly good. Symptoms are still coming and going which sometimes makes me nervous. But I know it's normal. I just really need my scan this week to be good news and I think it will go a long way to ease my PGAL brain.

Rants/Raves:  *TW* Previous MC - My Rave is I am officially further along than in my last PG!

This is also my DS last week of Pre-k, he graduates next week! I can't believe I will have a kindergartner soon.

I think I am getting ready to tell more people about this PG too. I told one of my best friends this past weekend. And I plan to tell my family this coming weekend if my scan this week goes well.

    Questions: nope

GTKY: What is your dream job?
Probably being a SAHM. I always wanted to do it but could never afford it.
That or being a writer. If money was no object I would love to be able to write a book. I keep telling myself I will do it on the side. But I just never have the time. And I need my real job to pay the bills.

Upcoming Appointments: Wednesday for f/u viability scan

How are you feeling?: usual symptoms still on and off. Nausea is there and worse when I need to eat something. I’ve also been dizzy the past few days so trying to increase my water intake. Mentally I am getting more nervous the closer we get to the scan.

Rants/Raves: Had a nice relaxing weekend. Had dh do the grocery shopping for this week so that was nice not to have to deal with. We went to Lowe’s yesterday so he could get wood to make us new side tables in the living room. He’s excited for that.

    Questions: nope

GTKY: What is your dream job? A librarian.

    Edit for edd
  • @hanshotfirst77 i think we are going to tell more people if this scan goes well, too. Im hoping to be able to tell our parents on Father’s Day. I’ve got everything crossed for you!

Baby is the size of a(n): raspberry

    Upcoming Appointments: US next Tuesday!

How are you feeling?: really glad my Dr went ahead and gave me Zofran when she did my B6 and Unisom because it’s how I’m gettting through life.

Rants/Raves: MH’s grandpa is not doing well at all so it’s been a rough few days around here. Currently just having to wait and see which way it goes but it doesn’t look promising.
The good part of the weekend was that a friend gave us a dresser they were getting rid of so we rearranged our bedroom and it’s sooooo much better/more functional now

    Questions:

GTKY: What is your dream job? I like being a SAHM. But someday I want to own a wedding/photography venue
  • @hanshotfirst77 - Yay for getting past a PGAL milestone. Good luck on your scan in a few days. What kind of book would you write if you had the time? I wrote a couple of books in highschool/college, and then sort of lost my drive after graduating college.

@kbrown2385 - Sounds like your DH is pretty handy! My DH is the same way and always has a project. He's currently prepping to do an addition on to our house that's going to be a master suite.

@MrsJessS - Does the Zofran work pretty quickly? My nausea has been ramping up lately, and I might ask for something extra at my appointment today.

    Est Due Date/Weeks + Days: Jan 18 / 8w+2d

Baby is the size of a(n): a half lego brick or a dime

    Upcoming Appointments: Today!! @3:45 CST

How are you feeling?: Nausea comes and goes. When it's gone, I get PGAL brain and worry about the baby. When it's here, it's rough.

Rants/Raves: I held off on vomiting until 8 weeks this time (it was 6 weeks last time)! But I vomited up my dinner yesterday, so violently that I broke some capillaries on my skin in my face. I look like I have tiny red freckles all around my eyes, down my cheeks, and a few across my forehead.

    Questions:

GTKY: What is your dream job? I really enjoy my job. I'm a proofreader and it keeps me challenged and stimulated intellectually. I think my dream is going to come true when I have this baby and I get to cut back my hours to part time.
  • @marebear15 I'm sorry you had a such a rough time with the morning sickness. I know on one hand it can kinda be a relief but also not easy to deal with. I hope you can get some relief.

and I used to love writing sci fi/fantasy stuff as a kid. I wrote a bunch of short stories but I was afraid to try and pursue it in college and ended up majoring in something that my parents felt would be more stable career wise and I kinda stopped writing somewhere in there. I'd really love to write a novel someday.

@MrsJessS I'm glad the zofran is helping you. I hope your H's grandpa gets better too.

  • Est Due Date/Weeks + Days: 1/17 8w3d

Baby is the size of a(n): my baby could fit on a penny according to the bump!

Upcoming Appointments: June 18th for US! Also our anniversary. So that's fun. And July 2nd for OB. If the scan is good we will probably go down and visit our parents, both live in MD and we are in Philly, and tell them in person.

How are you feeling?: I have good days and bad days. I do not enjoy the dizzy lightheaded feeling I've been getting. Nausea is getting worse but not as constant as before. Lots of tired feeling. And the rages are real. LOL. And my boobs are back to being hella sore.

Rants/Raves: Rants, I'm going to have to let DH drive to work and home for now. I can start feeling fine but like halfway through our commute I'll start feeling bad. I am super lucky we carpool most of the way but I don't wanna force him to drive if I can. But I can't right now. If we had a shorter commute it would be totally different. But traffic has been extra bad lately and we've had 1.5-2hr drives recently.

Also DH "we can't tell anyone." but also DH when we have friends around "how ya doing" every 5 minutes. Stop it. I'll tell ya if something is up. They are gonna start asking questions if you keep this up. It's bad enough I can't drink when friends come over anymore LOL.

Raves, I ended up spilling to a friend who I knew got pregnant around the same time as me because she straight up asked if I got my period (shhh don't tell hubby.) and found out we are 2 days apart if all goes well. So that's exciting!

Questions: Does canned meat, like chicken and tuna, fall into the banned food category??

GTKY: What is your dream job? Full time artist. It's what I got my degree in but there's not a ton of money into it and breaking into the wedding scene is hard, but I'm working on building it as my side hustle while I work a FT job in finance.

Baby is the size of a(n):  raspberry

Upcoming Appointments:  Still waiting.   I cannot believe I don't get at appt until July 2nd.   I just need to know if there is a baby in there or not!

How are you feeling?:  I have a terrible taste in my mouth constantly.  All food sounds terrible (except cheese pizza In NYC) .    Queasiness comes and goes.   I managed to troop around NYC for the past 5 days with my 3 little kids on the subway and keep everyone happy and fed and having fun, so I am managing the exhaustion.  We drove home yesterday, and I am happy to be back in our regular routine.

Rants/Raves: I want to have an ultrasound!!

@marebear15 - my H is also handy and I love it! We bought an old house last fall, and we have so many plans for it.  He is busy with actual work, so it will take forever to finish it, but I love all our plans.

    Questions: none

GTKY: What is your dream job?  I would love to be a study abroad advisor who lives in the other country.  I studied abroad in France and there was a woman who lived there.  She took care of us, took us on excursions, set us up with host families , helped choose classes, etc.   I would love that job!   I am a SAHM, which I also love.   And I was a first grade teacher in Philadelphia which I loved and miss.

  • @MollySm I'm with you there. It feels like everywhere around the Philly area is booked solid right now. I feel lucky that my US is as early as it is but waiting to see the dr until the 2nd is gonna be killer.

DH and his best friend from High School are pretty handy. The woman we bought our house from had halfway finished the attic into a full room, so DH and his friend (and me a bit) turned it into a bar/study area for my husband. And we just finished the first half of our backyard patio. We have a bunch more plans for our home but right now that's it for the year.

DH is going to ask said best friend to build us a crib for the baby because he loves building stuff as a side job. I think that'll be a perfect touch for our nursery as well. It helps that (even though I know it's too early to look) I also kinda hate everything I'm seeing on buybuy baby for cribs anyway LOL

@marebear15 sorry the nausea has hit you hard! Dh is pretty handy but idk about renovating a house. He did make me a kitchen island and handles all car repairs so I’m happy to have that.

@MrsJessS so glad the Zofran (edit because it autocorrected to Zoltan 🤣) is helping!

@carrieandr lounging in bed should be the standard during the first tri!

@stashattack I’ve never seen those as off limits during pregnancy. You do want to limit tuna because of mercury content.

@MollySm I can’t believe you have to wait so long for your first appt! I’m frustrated for you!
  • @kbrown2385 for some reason I could not remember “zofran” last night and I laid awake in bed for probably half an hour mentally listing all the ‘Z’ and ‘T’ mess I could think of. Finally had to get on my phone and check 😂
  • Hi everyone!  I just introduced myself in the introductions but I hope you don't mind me just jumping in!

    Est Due Date/Weeks + Days: Jan 24th, 7w3d

Baby is the size of a(n):  A blueberry I think?

Upcoming Appointments:  I have my 8 week viability ultrasound this Friday.  I'm nervous but excited.  I'm a fraternal twin so every time I have my first ultrasounds I anxious to see how many are there lol.

How are you feeling?:  I'm nauseated, nausea?  Sorry I always get this one wrong.  I feel sick constantly.  I want to just puke and get it over with my body has decided it doesn't want to.  It could be worse so I'll stop there.

Rants/Raves:  I've gained almost 5 pounds.  Like WTF body.  I know its a lot of bloat and shit but honestly it bothers me.  I'm one to gain 40ish pounds during pregnancy and its hard af to get rid of. I know its part of pregnancy and I accept it because the outcome is the best part but I struggle with the weight gain the most.

Questions:   Nope, 3rd kid I've already experienced most of it this early in the game.

GTKY: What is your dream job?   Well I'm a SAHM and have been for almost 4.5 years.  I honestly don't know the answer to this question.  I hope to one day work again but definitely not what I went to school for.
  • @mispanda

  • I can see this is the active due date week! I got bumped here after my ultrasound last week.

    Est Due Date/Weeks + Days: Jan 24, 7 wk, 3days

Baby is the size of a(n): playing dice

    Upcoming Appointments: not until mid-July!

How are you feeling?: mostly okay. I seem to feel worse in the evenings with minor nausea. Mostly just the bloat and hormones making me ragey.

Rants/Raves: rant! I can't believe I have to wait until 12 weeks for another appointment!! I thought I was further along, but my dating ultrasound pushed me back 2 weeks. I would have thought I'd get to have other one or something. Instead, it means waiting longer.

Questions: any chance I can lie and get another scan? Kidding, not kidding...

GTKY: What is your dream job? My current job, but with fewer customers. I can't get into too many specifics, but I'm kinda like a consultant and mentor in one for my industry.

  • @hanshotfirst77 glad you hit a new milestone! 🎉

@kbrown2385 YH sounds so handy! Mine is too, but he doesn't build stuff. 😏 Good luck on your scan tomorrow!

@MrsJessS so sorry to hear about YH's grandpa. 😔 I hope things turn around so you guys have more time with him.

@marebear15 ouch, sorry to hear about the painful vomiting. 😖 your proofreading job sounds cool! I think that's something I would really enjoy.

@carrieandr second on thinking you shouldn't have to do anything in the first tri! This exhaustion is unreal. 😴

@stashattack how exciting that you and your friend get to share your pregnancies together! 😁

@MollySm sounds like you had fun in NYC! I lived there in my early 20's and it is still my favorite city. I miss it sometimes, though I'm glad to be where I am now for raising a family 😊

@mispanda are you hoping for twins? I kind of was,  because I always thought it would be cool. But then I felt very relieved when my first scan showed one baby 😅

@persnickity I feel like you should be able to check for growth since you're 2 weeks behind. It doesn't hurt to ask! 🤷‍♀️

    Est Due Date/Weeks + Days: new EDD Jan24, 20/ 7weeks4days

Baby is the size of a(n): blueberry

Upcoming Appointments: follow up June 26th

How are you feeling?: still exhausted, sore boobs and the past couple days, nausea has kicked in. It comes and goes in waves but I only threw up once Sunday night.

Rants/Raves: I made my first friend on the app Peanut. We met for coffee last night and hit it off! So glad to make a new friend, my age, who is expecting in my area!

    Questions: nope

GTKY: What is your dream job? I'm really looking forward to being a SAHM. But I always thought it might be fun to be a teacher, probably third grade.

    Edit: correcting autocorrect 🤨
  • @carrieandr - Did you only take half a tablet of Unisom? I think the dosage is 12.5mg. I'm not super tired when I only take that much.

@persnickity - 12 weeks until another appointment, or another ultrasound? Because that takes you right into the first week of September and that's a long time to wait for an appointment.

@peppyj9 - Yay for new mommy friends! I'm glad Peanut worked for you. I'm always excited to meet another mom.
  • @peppyj9 thank you. Unfortunately MH’s grandpa passed away yesterday.
  • @marebear15 I took a whole one, so maybe that was the problem.

  • hanshotfirst77  Good luck with your scan tomorrow. Sending you all the good energy I can.

@kbrown2385 My college roommate went to school for biology and is now a librarian. Never too late.Everything at my library is automated now and the librarians are mean.

@MrsJessS I just got prescribed Diclegis.  I am hoping it works. I hope the zofran works for you. It's hard to think straight when the nausea is so bad.

@marebear15 Have you tried pregnancy meditation? It has really helped my PGAL brain.  The insight timer App is wonderful.

@carrieandr Artist here too!  I teach art to pay the bills but I would much prefer to work in a museum or gallery.  I would love to make art all day but I wonder if it was my job if I would get sick of it and lose the passion. I just got into digital art this year.  I recently drew this in response to the stupid Kylie Jenner party debacle.

stashattack  I cannot imagine being in the car that long.  I would die.

peppyj9 I am a teacher. I cannot imagine being a SAHM. It seems so hard.  I actaully looked forward to going back to work after my 4 months off!

Est Due Date/Weeks + Days: I am around 8 weeks. Not sure of dates.

Baby is the size of a(n):

Upcoming Appointments: I have a doppler apt June21st. I'm declining early scans because my PGAL is so bad with ultrasounds. I get severe panic attacks. It use dot be a baby is healthy until proven otherwise.  Now, I feel like our society has us believing a baby is unhealthy until a scan reveals that everything is fine. I am trying to be more Zen about this pregnancy and just take it as it comes.

How are you feeling?:  So nauseated. I pick up my diclegis today after work. Can't wait!

Rants/Raves: We are going to Disney on Friday!!! I wish I didn't feel so crappy. I am hoping the nausea meds kick in right away.

Questions: Does caffeine make the nausea better or worse? I can't remember.

GTKY: What is your dream job? Vegan Food Blogger!.  I would love to travel around the country eating food and writing about it.
  • @marebear15 I meant that I have an appointment when I'm 12 weeks, not in 12 weeks. ☺️

    @MrsJessS Sorry for your loss.

@peppyj9 @carrieandr Yeah, I think I'm going to ask for peace of mind. It's not crazy asking for a growth check in my mind.

@stashattack Funny thing is the consulting is a side part of my job. The sales team apparently should charge more!
  • @MrsJessS oh, I'm so sorry for your loss 😔
  • @stashattack  My degree is in Nuclear Medicine.
@peppyj9 I have two girls already and I was really just hoping to add one.  But I'll gladly take two if its twins but I'll definitely have my hands full.
  • @justsuzie I think the only way I’d get sick of art is if I was doing commissioned work or had to meet tight deadlines. I’m illustrating a book for a client right now and she keeps asking me to change things and it’s really frustrating. I’m used to making graphic design edits, but I’m not used to people telling me to change my art.

  • @MrsJessS I’m so sorry for your loss.
  • @carrieandr I teach art and I am so burnt out by the end of the school year that I have no motivation to make anything for myself.
  • Est Due Date/Weeks + Days: 1/22 8w1d

Baby is the size of a(n): raspberry,  weighs the same as a paperclip

Upcoming Appointments: July 9 is our next scan and ob exam visit. Hardly fair to have to wait 4 weeks from my first to see the little peanut again! Hopefully will stay in this due date group but we will see. At 7w6d baby measures 7w1d, but I ovulate later, so no actual worry about it.

How are you feeling?: so so so tired. 6pm is my new witching hour. I really cant do much of anything past then! Feeling some quick, sharp pains around my uterus...thinking its growing pains? Gas? Not crampy though, so trying not to worry.
But my moods, oh boy!! Watch out, 0 to bitch in .002 seconds.

Rants/Raves: omg you have all set me up to rant about my not at all handy SO. Drives me nuts. I can do more around the house than him. Like WTF??? He calls his parents for EVERYTHING. I cant wait to move out of state.  We joke he needs to get his 'man card' and quickly with baby on the way.
Other rant is my irresponsible team at work. How can so many people be so damn irresponsible??? Makes me think this is what happens when you spoil and coddle children. Parents teach your kids to be responsible humans.

Questions:  is it only the first trimester that seems to drag on forever???

GTKY: What is your dream job? Ohhh I've always wanted to teach, but ceramics/art classes. I love working w clay. But at this point I'd settle for a job where I'm not the boss..... I just want to go to work, take care of my things and go home.
  • @mammab120 hey due date buddy 🙃. The end of third trimester also drags on forever lol.
  • @mammab120 - My DH is extremely handy, he's not quite so helpful around the house. So it's a bit of a give and take. I wish he would do a few more chores, but then I see all the projects he's juggling and all the ways he's improved our house in large ways, instead of the mundane stuff like doing the dishes. I've seen that a lot of SOs that aren't very handy, do a lot more household chores. You get one or the other!
  • @mammab120 - @kbrown2385 is right. 3rd tri drags at the end. Particularly if you pass your due date and you aren’t even counting down to anything anymore.

Since everyone’s discussing handy SO’s — my dad had his own remodeling business and put second floors on two of our houses when I was growing up. No crew, just my parents. They are currently doing that again and my dad is in his 70’s. And my husband is a licensed contractor. He and my dad majorly renovated our house — knocked down several walls, built a new roof, etc.
