    Upcoming Appointments: U/S on 6/27

How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): My sense of smell is definitely heightened. Other than that I feel normal.

Rants/Raves: Got away with making a mock-tail last night so DH’s family doesn’t suspect anything! It was a Moscow mule, minus the vodka. And it was still yummy! I have my cousin’s wedding this weekend so I need to think of mocktails I can drink there too.

    Questions: none

GTKY: When I was 16, I went to France and Monaco on a school trip. One of the best experiences of my life. I would love to go back someday, though my French is a bit rusty since I haven’t taken it since freshman year of college.

@daffodil_shoe I'm so happy to see you here, girl! That's awesome you were able to do some mocktails! France and Monaco sounds so lovely! That's awesome you were able to experience it!

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Finding out!

Upcoming Appointments: Follow up blood work on Wednesday

How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): My boobs have tripled in size and I'm down to a sports bra that used to be HUGE on me, feeling sick all of the time but also simultaneously hungry, tings down under, fatigue, food aversions (pizza.. I HATE PIZZA NOW?), there's more but I also now have an eye twitch hahah. But that's probably just stress.

Rants/Raves: We had a fun weekend! Saturday DH had a work picnic which was good minus the food then yesterday we went to Bantam Jeep Festival with our best friends. We did end up telling them simply because they have known we have been trying and they were actually with us during our FW camping LOL.

Questions: Has anyone had hot and heavy symptoms really soon? Like I was very symptomatic starting at 3 weeks when most people don't even know they're KU?

GTKY: What is the best vacation you’ve taken? Our honeymoon to Ocho Rios, Jamaica. It was just stunning and wonderful!

@brookert615 my first pregnancy I had symptoms including nausea and all day sickness starting at 3+4 and it continued till birth. Plus other symptoms that early too. Some bodies just respond quickly to the hormones I guess

Upcoming Appointments: 6/28 measuring ultrasound, making sure there’s a heartbeat and only 1

How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): no cravings yet. I was actually feeling nothing until last night and it was making me nervous. Now the nausea is kicking in full force. Nausea means there’s a baby cooking so I’m good with that.

Rants/Raves: DH acted on the edge about having a second, but since we found out he seems super excited and happy.

    Questions: not yet

GTKY: What is the best vacation you’ve taken? Not necessarily for the location but Myrtle Beach for my honeymoon. We shut off phones and it was the most relaxing low key vacation I have ever had. And the location was beautiful as well

How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): My scalp it SO itchy (Just like it was with DD - I literally had scabs on my scalp from it itching so bad with her.  Little bouts of nausea but goes away quickly.  It hit me hard and never stopped last time at 6 weeks.  I'm sure it will get worse just knowing my norm is to get nauseous from anything and everything.  Starting to feel painfully tired.

Rants/Raves: We are working on planning a babymoon...  in early September.  We were already planning on taking a vacation before I got a BFP but now it will be our babymoon.  I think we finally narrowed it down to an Alaskan cruise!  Also, excited because we told my brother and his wife (who is about 4 months pregnant)  and one of DH best friends.  I don't feel comfortable telling EVERYONE yet. But it was killing us not to tell anyone.

    Questions: none

GTKY: What is the best vacation you've ever taken?  Our honeymoon, for sure!  We went to a wonderful All-Inclusive adults only resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. The staff was all so nice.  Everything was gorgeous. The food was all amazing.  Our room was to die for with a swim-up pool entrance to our room.  It's so sad to see all the problems they are having now in the media from people dying on their vacations... (not at our hotel but still SCARY).

Upcoming Appointments: 6/19 early U/S and intake with birth center

How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): Exhaustion is real, sore boobs that have officially filled out already, a few waves of nausea, thick around the middle/ bloated too big for my non-stretchy clothes

Rants/Raves: I'm getting my 10k steps in and crossfitting twice weekly, plus tracking my intake and keeping calories to maintenance, but I just feel like I'm going to be SO BIG this time around...

Questions: Do you lie when people ask if you're pregnant? I didn't mean to tell so many people so early, but I've run to the bathroom and thrown up a few times now and decided screw it I'm telling my co-workers. Also today was max rep day so I told the group I was working with at the gym my reason for not maxing out. I feel like it comes up and people know the signs. Just wondering if it's commonplace to lie about why modifications are needed or why we're sick or why we're EXHAUSTED but refusing coffee, etc etc.

GTKY: What is the best vacation you’ve taken? Probably our trip to Iceland. DS was 6 months old and my mom had just died 3 months before and there was no way in hell Christmas was going to be okay that year, soooo a bunch of my family went to Iceland instead and it was kind of incredible!
  • Options
@craftywitch Okay good! Great job in staying up with your healthy lifestyle!!! Honestly in your situation I don't think it should be a concern since they're with you and see what you're going through! I haven't lied but I have just been changing the subject. I'm a bit nervous for anyone to bring it up at work since I'm in management and it's going to be a little crazy trying to figure out who's doing what to cover me while I'm out for maternity leave. I have a really close friend at work and it's KILLING me not telling her. ANYWAYS Iceland sounds amazing! Definitely on the bucket list!

How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): I feel totally normal, although I have a sore throat, which also happened right after I got pregnant last time. Weird coincidence.

Rants/Raves: I am now excited about this- super scared still, but excited in some ways for DS to be close with this new potato and also to be done with diapers that many YEARS sooner

Questions: Already just trying to research double strollers and feeling overwhelmed

GTKY: What is the best vacation you’ve taken?

Thats hard- we vacation a LOT. Its a toss up between our honeymoon in Spain and our first babymoon in Portugal

@craftywitch I have tried to avoid the conversation. But anyone that directly asked I have told. Unfortunately I had fertility treatments so many of my coworkers knew when I had appointments and now that I haven’t for a while they have started to ask. We plan to tell family after our ultrasound so I may twist the truth a little if they ask so we can have a fun surprise announcement
  • Options
@BenNSarah with my first (IVF baby, everyone knew), I told people that pregnancy tests were not accurate for a period of time due to the hormones from the injections, so it takes longer to find out if it works for IVF- thats how we were able to surprise family with the news at 6 1/2 weeks and friends at 8 weeks

Rants/Raves: I have two little girls from a previous marriage ( 9 and 8). This is my husbands first, and possibly only, we are super excited and have already told both side of parents.

Questions: How much weight are you expecting to gain. I had a talk with my personal trainer and she said she would like for me to gain no more than 25 pounds. I weight train and she said for my body type this number is good.

@cobydoll I think I ended up gaining like 35 lbs with my son. I’m only 4’10” so it felt like a lot, but my midwife never brought up any concern. And I lost it all and then some while breastfeeding. So if I gain that same amount, I’m not concerned.

@cobydoll with my last I was worried about gaining too much. My OB basically said how much you gain has a lot to do with genetics, so even if you are eating well and working out (liek I was my whole last pregnancy), some people just gain more, and thats ok. I gained 40 lbs my last pregnancy which is insane to me and I ate pretty healthy and worked out, but I lost 45 lbs of that within 3 months by doing legit NOTHING, and the last 5 I have lost slowly because I broke my spine a few months ago so working out has been non-existent. For reference I am 5’7 and was 125 pre-pregnancy. I would never take a trainers advice about pregnancy- only a doctors.
  • Options
@cobydoll I gained 29lbs with DD... and that was AFTER losing 12 from morning sickness. I definitely don't want to gain more than that. My entire body was swollen including my face/nose/fingers/toes. I looked SO completely different. I'm hoping 20-25lb.
  • Options
@cobydoll I kept my weight gain to 25lbs with my first, but I tracked calories, exercised heavily, and honestly ate nothing but very small amounts of fruit through a first tri of nonstop barfing. I’d love to keep it to 25lbs again, but I’ve already gained a solid pound and I can’t say I’m sad to be barfing less! I do plan to continue tracking calories and exercising, but I’m guessing I will be closer to 30-35lbs this time. I was at pre-preg weight 2 days PP and struggled with milk production with my son, so I’m hoping maybe the extra weight will help with nursing! There are pros and cons either way- try not to envy anyone too much.
  • Options
@cobydoll I'm only 5 ft and gained 50 pounds my last pregnancy... But I also lost all of that. The pounds just melted off after birth, and I never had issues with milk supply maybe because it was eating into my fat stores :) definitely eat healthy, but I am a big proponent of listen to your body and just gain however much your want to gain during pregnancy.

How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): My boobs are really sore. I threw up two nights ago, but only mild nausea since then. And I've been really emotional lately. Work has been more stressful than normal, but I've gotten into some confrontations with coworkers where afterwards I was like, "why was I reacting like that?". Last week I cried at work 3 times. I feel like I need a sign for my office: "BEWARE THE PREGNANT WOMAN: May spontaneously combust in anger or tears"

Rants/Raves: I just want to go to sleep. All the time. Forever.

GTKY: What is the best vacation you've ever taken? In 2016 after I got back from deployment, hubby and I took 4 days and went down to Portland, Oregon. We took the scenic route down the coast through picturesque woods, got a nice hotel room, went to bookstores, yarn stores, and game stores across the city, pretended to be hipsters, and had an amazing time. We've done the "international travel to exotic locations" before, but IMHO, this was the most relaxing and fun vacation we've had.

@cobydoll What @kiwi2628 said.  A lot of it is out of people's control and is based on genetics.  Some people are going to gain 45 lbs no matter what they do.  Some won't.  Also, your personal trainer is not a doctor, so she really shouldn't be telling you how much weight you should or should not gain.

@noxacanthus Some of the best vacations H and I have taken have been domestic! (although we don't go overseas much).  We drive up through Baltimore, NYC, Maine, Vermont, and back through upstate NY a few years ago and it was so relaxing (except for driving through NYC :) ) and I still think back on it so fondly.

@daffodil_shoe - a really good mocktail is seltzer with lime - and also no colories - people think it is vodka tonic. @brooker615 - we got married in Jamaica (Negril) it is such a lovely place! @BenNSarah - I’d almost like some symptoms myself :) It took me six months to get DH around for trying for #2 now he is more excited than me. @tensparkles are you taking your LO on the Alaskan cruise? We took Bells on a cruise from Baltimore in January and the colder days were a little tough -there were no activities beyond breakfast fro 6 - 10 a.m. @craftywitch - good for you taking your LO to Iceland - we travel with ours all the time and I think it’s really important. I haven’t lied to anyone about being pregnant yet but terrible at lying so…eek. @brooker615 - the work situation is tough - I’m going to have to tell my boss after our first scan for planning purposes. They are in the U.K. though and it is normal to tell early. @kiwi2628 - you sound like a planner like me. Bells will be just over 3 when we have new baby so not sure what we will need as far as double stroller but open to the idea? It will be nice when we can just pull them in the wagon. @cobydoll - I’m not concerned with how much weight I gain. Last time I was pregnant was the first time I wan’t on a diet in ten years- I think I gained 35 lbs. It’s important to nourish your and the baby’s bodies and get the nutrients you need. I am trying to keep to my running schedule this time around and will start yoga in the fall. It took me awhile to lose the weight even though we EBF but did. The most important thing to me was making sure Bells had enough milk. This time I might take it easy and not beat myself if I supplement but realistically I know i will do the same thing again. @burr1371 - that trip sounds amazing - I always wished I could have taken time off between college and working. @hkom - I’ve always wanted to go to Australia! I wouldn’t chance it with a toddler and now with 2 we are going to have to wait awhile. @jessmg14 - I’ve driven across country a few times definitely well worth it! We will have to do this with the kids when they are older. @brookert615 - thanks! I’m icing it right now so feel much better but had to throw my toddler back in bed a few times which didn’t help :-D
