I had had a weird dream about Castaway last night. I forgot about it until I searched for gifs for fire 🤣
Anywho...
FFC: I’m normally a back sleeper and I have been too tired to correct myself in the MOTN for like months now when I wake up on my back. Whoops!
UO: Star Wars Land is opening today and I don’t GAF. But it’s mostly because I won’t be able to go on the rides and the crowds will be INSANE FOR MONTHS. DH wants to go this summer but I’m trying to play up the crowds so I don’t have to go and get all butthurt I can’t do the good rides.
@lillywonderland I’m not a back sleeper but my hips hurt so bad that back sleeping is the only way I can get relief. I usually hit a point at night where I think to myself “if they had me lay on my back for a 2 hour ultrasound can it really be that bad?” Then I enjoy a few hours of back sleeping before the guilt sets in!
@lillywonderland Your UO inspired mine. Don't hate me, but I hate Disneyland. DH's family is obsessed and we've been several times with them. I don't get the obsession. The crowds and waiting are just not worth it to me. I would rather do anything else than go there. Maybe my opinion will change when I have kids.
@kgg2241 I'm with you... Not for Disney specifically (never actually been there) but anywhere that has tons of people, lines, and overpriced everything usually just makes me claustrophobic and angry. I'll take a quiet camping or hiking trip over that any day! (not that @lillywonderland isn't proof that you can enjoy both but YKWIM) @duewithpu2 I'm not a back sleeper either, but I've created a delightful pillow fort that has helped my hip pain recently! (I gave up trying to sleep with DH and went to the guest room a while ago so I can arrange my 5 regular pillows and U shaped pregnancy pillow any way I want).
FFFC: If you're driving like an asshole, I will adjust my driving in order to piss you off further. Tailgating? I'll slow down. Trying to pass on the right? I won't let you in. We're all in a hurry, so stop being a d*ck. (disclaimer: I only do it when I'm in the car by myself, not when DS and/or DH are in the car with me.)
@kgg2241 I’m not a Disney fan in general (never been to the parks) I just don’t obsess over the movies and stuff. I enjoy them but nothing crazy. I also as terrified of roller coasters so theme parks in general are a waste of money for me.
@RedBreast35 I do the same thing! Don’t ride my ass when I’m already going 15mph over or I will slow down to 5 under!
My FFC is probably might sound harsh, especially to some FTMs who aren’t in FB mommy groups yet, but my tolerance is low lately. All the mommy groups I’m in have turned into 30% “is this poop normal?! Calling the doc!!” *Spoiler alert!! Your kid just ate mandarin oranges Karen!!!* and 70% “I’m taking my 76month old to the beach how will I survive the car trip and what do I bring?!” I swear some of these women would not know how to mother their children if there wasn’t a FB group to tell them.
Ahh, another UO then for me (thanks @duewithpu2) Once your kid is over 11mo, stop referring to them as xx months old. I DON’T WANT TO DO MATH. Just say a little over 1, almost 1.5, pretty much 2, etc. No one GAF about the exact # of months after a year!!
FTR (not that I need to explain myself, but I’m also not one of those ones who has Disney everything - my house/car basically has no Disney in it other than a few movies, lol). My list of reasons why I love Disney:
1. It is clean AF everywhere you go in the parks/hotels. 2. I love the wholesome messages in the movies (esp the newer ones where the princesses are badasses and don’t need men - you go girl!!). 3. Everything is nice and clean there. 4. I don’t think I’ll ever “grow up”. I love being excited about all the things I experienced as a child and I’ve managed to hold onto my sense of wonderment even through some dark days and I plan on being the same in my years ahead. 5. Did I mention everything associated with Disney is literally clean??
@duewithpu2 I recently just joined two local fb mom groups, thinking I'd get good recos for local pediatricians, camps, day cares, etc. 99% of the posts are "What's the best way to get to Fuzzy's tacos on a Friday afternoon"
MF Waze, b!itch. Why would someone post that in a mom group?
oooooooorrrrrrrrrrr there are the crunchy moms who post stuff like "I'm against antibiotics, what can get rid of my kid's sinus infection?"
@nomangos23@duewithpu2 I joined a local BFing fb group and I have so many regrets about this. So far the most absurd question I saw was "I usually put beer in my chili, will it be okay if I'm bfing?" and the amount of pain I had not responding "do you not know how heat and alcohol work, karen?" was just way too much for me.
@nomangos23 Yep, same thing in mine! I definitely have gotten useful info from them a few times, but more often than not I’m shaking my head. There is one particular offender that asks the same question 45 different ways a few days apart as if the small group of 100 women has changed. I kid you not she asked for sippy cup recommendations 10 different times in 2 weeks. BUY ALL THE CUPS!
@duewithpu2 the first time I saw mandarin orange poop I started laughing - some of the fruit poops are really something (looking at you too, blueberries).
Chiming in on the poop talk - Pea poops when DS would swallow them whole (idk why he wouldn’t chew them). Pretty damn hilarious. Kiwi is entertaining also! 🤣
@lillywonderland I'm a huge Disney fan. WDW or DL? Our AP expire in Oct and I'm debating on renewing them this year...
@cmdesigner LMAO! No, Karen does not know how heat and alcohol work together. Or metabolisms for that matter either.
Reminds me of an UO: you can have a beer while BFing, by the time it processes thru your body, your kid ain't getting wasted. Now, don't go raging at a kegger or be an idiot, but still...
@duewithpu2 This is the kind of stuff that has me hesitant to join any mommy groups. The pregnancy ones are obnoxious enough. Ugh, no more pee sticks, please!
Haha I'm just catching up. I was at a work conference all day on historic preservation. Which was pretty cool actually. Anyway...
@lillywonderland good point on the cleanliness of DL. That does make it better. I think I'd like it more if it wasn't such a thing. Coming from out of state you have to dedicate a couple of days to being there. If we lived closer and could just spend a half-day, I think I'd be more tolerant.
@RedBreast35 haha DH drives the same way. I made him promise to only drive like that alone from now on. I can just see my panic already when baby girl is born.
@duewithpu2 I love yours 😂. I haven't joined a mommy group partly for that reason. Plus I trust you guys to call me out on my crap on here. I think the local FB group would just let me ask dumb questions like it's normal.
@cheshyre319 I will 100% admit to drinking a (sour)beer when BFing. 1-2 drinks is completely acceptable! I got some strange looks tho, lol. Also - we live near DL. I’ve been to DW, but it was when I was a small human.
@lillywonderland I'm a stomach and/or back sleeper. Laying on my side sometimes hurts my shoulders. Sometimes I still fall asleep in a modified stomach position--one leg straight down, one leg flexed up, arms overhead, sort of on my side but not fully. I never wake up like that though.
@cheshyre319 I’m a little bit afraid for my first drinks after baby comes. Not that I ever drank all the much before, but seriously when is the last time I went 10+ months without a drop? Gonna be tipsy after half a glass of wine!
@lillywonderland Not a huge amusement park fan, but I’ll make an exception for Disney because YES to it being clean. Reminds me of an UO: DH and I watch Disney movies all the time. I like happy movies with happy songs and happy endings!
I'm on the fence about Disney. I want to take the kids eventually, but it's going to cost sooo much We went to Disney on Ice a few months ago and they loved it!
My FFFC: I have no desire to breastfeed this time. It didnt work out with my other two and I had a lot of guilt about it but no more.
@cheshyre319 The standard rule from the nursing groups and the lactation consultants around here is that if you can drive you can nurse. I don't go crazy with a newborn but of course had older people telling me to drink to help my milk.
@lillywonderland I'm glad I'm not the only one sleeping on my back sometimes. I actually made a comment to my OB about it because when I do sleep on my back I wake up with crazy bad headaches. She told me to try sleeping in a chair/recliner. I haven't tried it yet but mostly cause I'm waiting for my awesome nursery chair to come in. Just thought I'd share incase you or others wanted to give it a try. The hip pain is no joke some nights!
My FFSC: I'm super excited to move to a PG but I'm also a little nervous at the same time. I hope I can participate enough to keep being a member. Sometimes I need a bump break (or rather a social media break) and go on a hiatus. I'm also nervous since the recent catfish called out on TTGP. I hope the move to a PG weeds any out for us before we go to FB.

@LJMoon6 I feel the same way. I go through highs and lows with participation. And the TTGP catfish has me feeling more eager to move over, but also more nervous. I feel very on guard now.
@duewithpu2 We had a catfish on my BMB with DS. The ugly truth came out shortly after our kids turned 1 so she had been fooling people for almost 2 years. I am highly cautious of what I share anyway bc I am suspicious but I was totally blindsided when she was outed.
One thing about sleeping on back or even reclining later on is that it can impact position of the baby as far as being sunnyside up. Of course sleep is more important.
@mommyshark13 I am totally there with you on the breastfeeding. It’s so hard - and of course my close friend (who is also pregnant) is a breastfeeding champ. I told her I am thinking of just going straight to formula and she looked at me like I told her I was planning on running over my dog.
My uo/ffc is that I hate little kid birthday parties. My 3 year old has been invited to/attended 7 since March. We have two coming up again. It’s basically hell for an introvert having to socialize with people you don’t really know. I’ve been sending my husband and blaming m/s. Although, the m/s is pretty bad so not completely lying. 🤪
@rms924 I went straight to formula with DD. I felt like I had missed so much of DS' early days because I was obsessed with whether I was pumping enough etc etc. I made up my mind I wasnt doing that again.
@nomangos23 This was in late summer 2014. Private groups weren't the norm. And technically she was a real person and a mom BUT she lied about a number of things and attempted to open credit cards by using other members' addresses. We did a private Christmas card exchange and that's how she got info. She ended up getting banned from TB and shortly there after we moved to Proboards and then to FB.

Prayer, Donna. Try prayer.
I'm confessing I'll be so sad when September BMB goes private, because I won't be able to stalk you all anymore!
Best of luck on your PG transition and with the rest of your pregnancies! ❤
