You guys... how could that have been it? Like, I feel like this show was such a huge part of my life the last several years, and all of that buildup for the biggest letdown imaginable. How could that have been the end? How????????????
HOW, I ASK!?!?!?!?
Bran!? Seriously? He's done absolutely nothing the entire series. He's just going to rule by going "Hey guys, I'm gonna go zone out for a while. You guys do all the hard work."
I mean, I guess on the bright side they don't need to make another throne now?

I was disappointed in this last season big time. Bran becoming king was dumb. I did like that Sansa became Queen in the North and Jon was finally free in the North with Ghost! Besides that this whole season has been frustrating to me.
I am loving all the memes I’m seeing everywhere though! They crack me up!

@varimama He seemed so pissed that they sent him back to the wall, but I do think he'll be happy there. King of the Wildlings, maybe? And I did tear up when he was reunite with Ghost. But otherwise, I can't think of a more disappointing end to such an otherwise amazing series!

I felt so bad for John... he went through so much to get to where he was, only to be sent back there! But I cried when he was reunited with Ghost, too! Ghost was so happy to see him... it totally made up for the episode where he didn't pet him goodbye!!

I haven't watched the entire series...basically just this season and a few other random episodes throughout (DH is obsessed), but the ending seemed pretty lackluster to me. DH said he doesn't know how he feels and isn't super satisfied at how it wrapped up.
Jon is exactly where he wanted to be! He never wanted to be on the iron throne, he didn't want to be king in the North. He is a free spirit and will live his life free, with his BFF Tormund and Ghost, north of the wall. Bran Stark knew this. This is why he sent him there. This was a ruse to save his life. Grey Worm doesn't seem to know the Night's Watch doesn't exist anymore. Castle Black and the wall were mostly destroyed by the White Walkers. The Free Folks are going back to their land, with Jon Snow. He used to be in love with one of them. My guess is that he will fall in love with another one and have a family. Grey Worm and everybody else will never know. Also, I don't know if you noticed but there was something growing north of the wall. Winter as we knew it will end there.
I think the ending is perfect. All the Stark kids are exactly where they wanted to be. Sansa is Queen in the North, Arya is going to explore the world, Jon is free with the Free Folks and Bran is King of the 6 kingdoms. Cersei and Jaime sort of helped him become who he is and it is only fitting that he is now King.

@rikiteacup you actually cleared some things up for me about the ending! I was confused about the knights watch, because I thought it was mostly destroyed and then I was really confused when they were all leaving... but now I get it!! And I did see that little green plant of life blooming up out of the snow! That part made me happy! I wasn't really sure how to read Jon's expression at the end though, when he turned around and kind of paused... but I guess it was reflecting on his life there and all that has happened to him... leading up to his freedom.

@craftywitch I am not torn about Brienne's storyline. She is a bad ass woman and the last 2 episodes made her look weak re: Jaime. Maybe she had to write his story since he made her a knight?

Before the final episode aired my sister was saying, “Last week’s episode was the worst. How could Jamie and Cersei just die like that under a pile of rocks? She should’ve been dragged off by the dragon, dangling and screaming in his claws, right? And then he should have eaten her. That’s what was supposed to happen to Cersei. This finale better be better than that!”!
Welp, it wasn’t. The last two episodes were the absolute worst. This whole season was such a letdown compared to the rest of the show.
I do feel that overall the last season in particular just felt rushed. Like all of a sudden Daenerys is Mad Queen, and all of the things she's done (which were celebrated!?!) are now proof of her being evil. Shaking my head. I think having 4 more episodes would have helped the pacing.
I did really like @rikiteacup 's analysis of the Night's Watch stuff though, that makes sense!

Um, WTF?! Bran isn’t a king, it’s a cereal!!! He was so useless in battle and just stared. I didn’t expect him to do anything really, but come on! John Snow forever. I totally predicted that he was going to kill Dany, so I was confused when he went to kiss her. What a dumb ending.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
I hated it so so much! BRAN IS THE WORST CHOICE EVER and made no freaking sense!!!! Everything this season felt so rushed and it's just been such a huge disappointment.
Ugh, I read spoilers on reddit mid-way through this season because I was so sad at how things were shaping. I really wish show-runners would have told Emelia and Kit during filming what happens, they didn't tell them until before this season which made it hard to truly understand or to have development.
@rikiteacup Brienne is now the leader of the kings guard, whose job it is to maintain the book that biographies all the members of the kings guard. They go into detail about it in the books. I love her story too.

I liked how everything ended but thought that the production was super campy and the writing was bad, too many plot holes, lack of character development etc. the idea that Grey Worm wouldn’t have liked Jon instantaneously for murdering Dany is laughable. I guess he was a follower and not a leader? I think if the rest of the books ever do get written they will do a better job of developing Bran to make the ending more sensible and understandable. I’m still confused about what he did during the battle with the night king.

@NYTino24 that's exactly why it makes the most sense for Bran to be the King. Tyrion explained it very well. Also, Bran isn't just a guy in a wheelchair. He is a the Three-Eyed Raven! He is also the most stable mentally. He holds no grudges and does what is fair.

@littleredm Now that's the best explanation for him destroying the throne I've seen! I was hoping he'd hit Jon with fire (who would then survive because of his Targaryen blood and immunity to fire).
My biggest let downs were the lack of mystic powers. Hello Bran want to warg into anything? AT ALL? Like literally anything to help out?! Also Arya any faces you could use to get to the night king or Cersi or past any guards... no? Nothing? Fun. Plus what about Jon and Dani being immune to fire? Where's our marching through the flames hand-in-hand scenes? Nothing to test Jon?
Plus biggest plot hole that I need resolved: Varys sent out ravens telling everyone about Jon's identity and his claim to the throne... Are we pretending that didn't happen? No one cares that Jon is the heir?! Did none of his scrolls make it to any of their intended recipients?
@craftywitch Jon isn’t immune to fire. I forget what season but they showed him get burnt. I mean it could just be a plot hole but Viserys was also a Targaryen and not immune to fire so I think Dany was special in that ability.
I agree though that Bran and Arya not using their abilities more was disappointing.

@varimama Ahhhh I didn't realize he'd been burned before. I was just hoping that would come up at some point and make Dany want him/ accept him as her equal or heir or whatever (since she rejected her brother for not having the ability or at least that was my read).
Finally watched the last episode after sooo many spoilers on social media! I agree with @rikiteacup but I just kind of wish the execution of certain things would’ve been different and obviously not so rushed feeling.
I really loved Dani and it was so hard to watch her do all of those things the last couple episodes but I guess Tyrion was right, she keeps justifying it all as being right. I low-key wanted her and Jon to live happily ever after with Ghost and Drogon.
I kind of was expecting/hoping Cersei having a very deserving death... like I think she deserved to be alone at the end because she quite literally drove everyone away. Her being with Jamie and just smashed by rocks didn’t do it for me! Lol
When Jon went to the wall I was super happy he gave Ghost a big hug and had a little reunion, if that wouldn’t have happened I think I would’ve been super upset lol. TBH Ghost is such a good boy and deserves all the pets.
Sansa being the queen of the north feels right, same with Arya. Some BA chickies finally just living their dream.
ANYWAYS what kind of GoT fangirl would I be if I didn’t get this bad boy?
@varimama I was SO back and forth and Ulta sent me an email that if it was purchased I would get an extra 350 points and there was this 22 piece bag that came with any purchase so I was like "this is meant to be" LOL.
@craftywitch Lord Varys was writing a note that he ended up burning once he realized the guards were coming for him and he was done. I don't know how many notes he had already sent but I assume they would have been sent to the people who decided Bran would be the King. Otherwise, who else? I agree this is a hole in the plot line. I thought the fact that Jon was the true heir to the throne would have been a bigger deal. The only one it really impacted was Dany. Seems like everybody else didn't care. Oh, and Sansa too. But I believe she only cared because it gave her a valid reason to not accept Dany as her Queen.
