@marebear15 I'm so glad you're advocating for yourself. Don't take no for an answer. At the very least, your dr should give you the prescription so you have peace of mind.
@marebear15 This sounds so frustrating. I am sorry that you are having so much trouble getting help. I don't understand how we are treated as patients instead of people.
@kbrown2385 It went well! The nurse said she did get my call and the doctor wanted to speak to me about my progesterone levels in person. He says they are still fine but put me on progesterone to help my peace of mind. His mantra is "Healthy mind, healthy baby" so if I'm worried about something, he wants to do everything he can to make me comfortable. Also got an ultrasound to see Baby. Didn't get a heartbeat, but gestational sac, yoke sac, and fetal pole all measured normal!
@marebear15 Great news on the ultrasound! I’m so glad you got to see your little nugget. That’s also good to hear that your doc is following up on your progesterone. The NP I met with today went ahead and got another blood draw for my progesterone just to check it, so I’ll hear tomorrow if I will be joining you at the progesterone supplement party.
I just hate that progesterone inserts are pink....likeeeeee pick a different color so I can know if I am actually spotting or if it's the progesterone.
@marebear15 I'm glad they started progesterone for you and that you for to see baby! My progesterone level was 13 and she said it was in the low end.might she said that supplements could help but it couldn't hurt! So it feels like you are doing everything possible and could support the baby!
@justsuzie my pharmacist friend says you can get different brands that are different colors. Mine are white so way less scary but I think Walgreens carries brown ones that the discharge can look like old blood🤪
@marebear15@justsuzie Well, progesterone levels were down from 16 to 14, so they ordered prometrium for me to take at night. Oral, though. I feel like from back in my IVF researching days with DD, oral wasn’t as effective. Is anyone else on oral progesterone? Now I’m all anxious again.
@EmilyE13 call your OB and tell them you are gagging on the oral ones and need the suppositories because you can’t keep them down. This legitimately happened to me and they switched me. Good luck.
After taking a test the day of my missed period (Monday) I took a digital this morning because I wanted to tell my husband tomorrow but then- on my next trip to the bathroom- I saw very light brown on the TP, am having some light cramping, and now I’m freaked out. I never had implantation bleeding- could this be it or would that have happened earlier? I’ve read up on chemical and ectopic pregnancies which probably isn’t helping my mental state. I was planning on calling my GP on Monday for a confirmation appointment, but now I’m stuck as to what to do... do I need to call now or can I wait until Monday after seeing what happens over the weekend... do I tell my husband about the positive test or hold off? 😔
@EmilyE13 I'm also on progesterone. Been taking endometrin vaginal suppositories since 1dpIUI. When I was researching it I read that vaginal can be more effective than oral. Can you ask your doctor if you should try vaginal?
@swatkins1983 you know your body and what is happening better than any of us but many times light brown is totally normal but still scary as heck. If it worries you then talk to the doctor. There's no harm in calling to schedule one day early. As for telling your husband. I can't help but blurt it immediately so he always knows right away. For me that's important because if something goes wrong he is better able to support me. But each couple is different and what works best for them is so different.
@EmilyE13 - I also got put on Prometrium oral. I'm okay with it though. It's helped my peace of mind just that I'm taking some progesterone. If you're worried, call them back and ask for the suppository.
@EmilyE13 I’m also on progesterone orally. With DD my levels were low so they had me on suppositories. This pregnancy my levels were in the “normal” range but still on the lower end so they put me on progesterone nightly. Probably for my peace of mind. Echoing what others have said, if you’re concerned I’d call and ask to switch!
@biolprof Thank you for the reply. I called my doctor’s office to schedule an appointment (really hoping they could see me today but they were closing early for the holiday) and I am down to be seen Tuesday morning. I mentioned the spotting and light cramps to the woman on the phone and she didn’t seem phased by it. I suppose if things get worse I can go to the ER. I really just need to get off google and relax. I decided to tell my husband this afternoon- we can be excited together and then if something happens he’s not in the dark and I don’t have to go through it alone.
@daydreaminghufflepuff I've had very early brown spotting with both of my pregnancies (this one and with my son), and both times the doctors/midwives/nurses have said it could have been late implantation bleeding. It was news to me that that was a "thing". There's a few things it could be though so it's hard to say. FX for great news on Tuesday!
@daydreaminghufflepuff With my ectopic I had sever pains different than cramping like a knife stabbing into my side so what you're describing seems a bit fainter. I'm getting cramping with my spotting too. It's the hurry up and wait game unfortunately.
@justsuzie Thank you so much for your reply. I’m sorry you went through that. Thank you for sharing your experience. I have quite a low tolerance for pain in general so and I haven’t had anything bowl me over. I’m sure now (or at least I’m telling myself) it’s just light cramps and gas pains.
@marebear15@EALasagna45 Thank you! I’m reassured that you two are on oral progesterone, too! I had a long, very helpful chat with the nurse today who answered all my questions and has me comfortable with staying with the oral dose. She also commented that my levels are still normal; adding this just won’t hurt anything and may help. She’s also sympathetic to my anxiety about being seen/poked/prodded so much less with this pregnancy (and therefore having so much less information) since it’s not IVF.
@tyrion_ oh, I'm really sorry you're experiencing this. FX everything's ok. Perhaps you should head to a an urgent care or the ER just in case? Take care of yourself ❤
@tyrion_ theres also a chance of it just being normal or a subchorionic hemmorage. Id go to er or at least put yourself on bedrest until tuesday. FX for you
@tyrion_ I’m sorry to hear about this development. Hope it turns out to be nothing serious. Perhaps go to the ER for piece of mind, if nothing else. Take care.
@tyrion_ I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I’d echo what others are saying as far as trying to get seen at the ER or urgent care. If nothing else, I would imagine your doctor’s office should have a nurse or OB on call if you call their answering service. I’ll be thinking of you.
@tyrion_ worst news. Drink lots of water and rest. I actually advise against the ER. On a holiday weekend you’ll be there forever! As much as the waiting game sucks it might make more sense. Can you call you OB nurse Line? If it is a sch I don’t think there is anything the ER can do. I’ll be thinking of you.

@marebear15 Yay! So glad it went well and you were able to advocate for yourself and get the Progesterone.

Not sure what I do now. Of course it’s a long holiday weekend, so I’ll call my OB Tuesday for the next step. But I think I’m out.
I know it’s over for me in Jan 2020. Any symptoms I had completely disappeared yesterday morning. TW TMI/loss details:
