We don't make a big deal, my son is too young to understand and MH's mom passed away several years ago and I know it is difficult for him. I may run a 5k in the morning, and by run I mean slowly jog/walk it. I will go see my grandmother on Saturday for some cake.

How are you feeling?: Still pretty sick.Headaches, nausea, dizziness and I'm having a hard time eating anything, because everything sounds disgusting to me right now. I'm hoping it will magically get better in a week when I reach the second trimester  It didn't happen before, but I can always hope, right?

Rants/Raves: Had my second appointment today (Finally! First was at six weeks), and got to see the baby for the NT scan. Everything looked good, and I got to hear the heartbeat! I'm measuring ahead by almost a week, and my SCH is gone. I'm really, really relieved, since that wait was not helping my anxiety!

@abbsters-2 during one of my US I realized my entire body was shaking while I waited for her to tell me the status of my SCH. Once she updated me, my body was able to fully relax.

It's been really hard to eat and keep food down and the Rx he wrote me didn't go through for like 2 weeks!!! Full pregnancy rage directed at him. Rave: I had the most splendid weekend and I'm feeling high on the happiness

@ameliabird811 I feel you on the clothes, check out H&M, they have some cute stuff and I loved the jeans I had with my son.  

@Kurtni I had the Halo with my son and loved it.  My sister had the arms reach and had the same complaint.  I liked that the Halo is height adjustable so it could swivel over our bed a few inches so he could be closer.

How are you feeling?: Today was rough, but yesterday I was almost nausea free.  I found out today that my tsh is super low, so I’m nervous about that and need to get it figured out tomorrow once my Endocrinologist is at her office.  

Rants/Raves: My son is finally not sick anymore so we can get back to all if his activities this week.  He had croup and we had a looong week last week staying at home so I’m very excited to get out and about this week!

@kurtni I had the Halo and it was great during my CS recovery! It's pricey but you might be able to get a gently used one, I alway see them at our local child secondhand store.

My SIL is a doula and I had her there with me last time. She was more help than my husband when things got tough (lol) and I'm totally having her there again. I think if you can afford it and find a good one you click with, it's a great asset during labor!

@kopp5988 This is just an US for gender. I didn't have that with either of my other kiddos so maybe because this practice has a newer, fancier machine? I'll have an anatomy scan at 20w.

@kopp5988 I *only* wanted my husband in the room. I know some people rave about doulas but I think I would hate it. A lot of people seem to like them to defend their birthing choices to their OB but my OB is already supportive and patient centered so I personally don’t need that. I know not everyone has access to great providers though.

I just want my husband in the room too. Although he is my rock while I'm in labor. He pretty much coaches me through all my contractions and helps me stay calm during transition. He wasn't the best during the delivery of our first baby but when the second came along he actually had taken notes on a piece of paper so he could remember everything he needed to do. With our third, he monitored my contractions and made sure I wasn't having decels (he is an ER doc so he knows how to work the machines and read everything on the printouts). Then when we realized I was almost ready to push and needed to be transferred to the labor and delivery room (they had me in triage) he gloved up in case I started delivering the baby in the hallway. Since he was already gloved up and in position when my OB walked through the door in the labor and delivery room she told him to go ahead and delivery our baby. It was the best thing ever. By far the best labor and delivery I have had so far.

@emeraldcity1214 that story is amazing!  We were hoping that my husband would be able to “catch” our son but we had some scary complications toward the end and there were so many people on the room because of it, it could not happen.  He’s a medic and has delivered four babies before, of course all strangers, but he would love to be able to be the first to hold his own!  How special that you and your husband got to experience that!  I have hope that this birth will be a little more intimate for us and complication free 🤞🏻🤞🏻

How are you feeling?: Meh. Better with the energy. Nausea still lingering. My appetite had decreased (yay for that!)

Rants/Raves: Ive been working long hours which is both a rant and a rave. I had 11 hour lobgappointments scheduled on Monday and 10 showed, 4 yesterday and all showed, my day is packed today except for two breaks I scheduled myself to get paperwork done and run errands for mothers day, and the work I do from home has been swamping me. Some days I am up at 6 to work and dont get done until 1030. That might be part of my fatigue!

Questions: I keep getting heart flubs. I talked to my doctor about it and we will monitor. They are guessing it might be due to increased blood flow and blood volume but I might get some blood work and echo done to check.

GTKY:  Happy Mother’s Day to everyone!! What are your Mother’s Day plans? Tomorrow we are going to STL for a quick two day trip with our toddler! City museum and the zoo. I am so stupid excited to have a getaway with my family and to just be away from work and stressors for two days!! The rest of the weekend I plan to plant some flowers and take it easy.

Upcoming Appointments: I just had an ultrasound and appointment with my doctor yesterday. My next visit isn't until 6/7 where we do more genetic bloodwork and I see the doctor again. Next ultrasound will be at week 20 

How are you feeling?: still pretty good. My doctor gave me a prescription that should help either my nausea/aversions and also help me sleep at night. We will see how this goes!

Rants/Raves: my husband has been pestering me to finalize the gender reveal plans and create the event. I tried to sit down with him last night to hammer it all out together and I couldn't get hin off his video game. I told him to just come and get me when he was done, but I did not want to start doing this at 9pm. What happens? Its after 9 and he still hasn't come out of his game room... needless to say I am still miffed. I've been vma very easy pregnant wife - something he loves saying about me to everyone - so I'm going to just allow myself this meltdown over my frustration.

Upcoming Appointments:  I had my first OB app. on May 1st.  Everything seems normal and waiting for a called to get and ultrasound (explained in Rants).

How are you feeling?:  I've been on sick leave now for 2 weeks.  My Physician put me on it for my depression and how work and how my anxiety was getting to me.  The stress from work was getting to me and it was an app. filled with me crying and filling out a questionnaire to determine if I had signs of depression, which I do.  It's been a common thing in my last 2 pregnancies, but usually around the end or after 20 weeks.  This pregnancy, it's been hitting me hard and at the beginning.  I have my next app with him next week to see if I should remain on sick leave or go back to work.

Rants/Raves (Long Rant):  My rant/hiatus for a while.  On April 30th, my sister gave birth to a beautiful baby girl at 11pm.  We were all happy for her as it was her first baby and she didn't have a great experience while pregnant and her OB wasn't that great either.  The morning of May 1st, I received a text from my sister that the doctors came in and told her the news that her daughter was born without eyes.  We were all shocked!  She started asking questions on why it was missed during her pregnancy and they couldn't tell her anything. The same day, I had my first OB app and when I got in, I started to cry to the receptionist and told her everything.  I waited half an hour and when my OB came in, the receptionist told her what had happened and she (OB) had called everyone who was involved with my sister and her baby.  What's unfortunate, is that they can detect early on if your baby has no eyes in the womb by ultrasounds and the tech. were not sure if they could see them or not and just reported it as a possibility of eyes but did not tell my sister for god knows why.  Since this is a rare genetic disorder, I am now going to be followed closely during my pregnancy and I'm suppose to be called for an ultrasound this week but still no calls.  My whole family is now starting to feel better about the situation, but we're all still confused and upset.  I have no idea if what I wrote makes any sense as my mind is still scrambled by this,..  End of rant.

@christalfung Oh, your poor sister must just be in absolute shock. Her her care team failed her tremendously. I’m glad you seem to have proactive providers and hoping everything turns out routine for you.

@christalfung That sounds awful! I can't believe they didn't tell her there was a possibility the baby would be born with no eyes. I can't even imagine what kind of shock that was to her and her husband.

@christalfung Wow, sounds like a hell of a week. Sending so much love to you and your family. It sounds like your doctors are ready and willing to be on top of this genetic disorder as well as the depression. Self care is so important, try to take care of yourself

How are you feeling?: I’m not tired at all which I’m surprised about and very grateful for because work right now is insane. However, my nausea seems to come and go without any discernable pattern which is driving me nuts. Some mornings I’m sick, some I’m not. And now I’ve started to feel really unwell right after supper. I guess it could be worse though!

Rants/Raves: I was feeling pretty paranoid up until we had our first ultrasound yesterday. I was so nervous but so happy once it was confirmed there was a heartbeat!!!

GTKY:  Happy Mother’s Day to everyone!! What are your Mother’s Day plans? My birthday is on Friday so Sunday we’ll be having lunch with my family

GTKY:  Happy Mother’s Day to everyone!! What are your Mother’s Day plans? Heading to my MIL's for the weekend. Really excited, we are going out for a nice dinner tomorrow night and then doing a family gender reveal. We plan to do a social media announcement Saturday and looking forward to spoiling my MIL on Sunday. This will be the first time we get to see my SIL and BIL since we gave the initial news.
