Ovulation Day on CD 18

Hey everyone, I am new here! After TTC for nearly 7 months only using apps, I bought an ovulation kit this past month. My peak was on CD 17 so I assume I ovulated on CD 18. The kicker is my cycles are normally 24 days! But today is CD 25 and I’m keeping my fingers crossed it doesn’t start! 

Has anyone had a similar experience? 

I took a pregnancy test yesterday CD 24 and 7DPO and BFN made its appearance.

Sorry this is not how this group works. Most of us have not had a BFP. Nor are we drs. And most of the batteries in our crystal balls are dead. 

so please read the Pinned posts at the top of the board that say READ ME FIRST and intro on the newbie thread. 

This could be posted in chart stalk/questions thread. We don’t start our own threads here because it would clutter the board.

Do you temp or have any confirmation that you actually ovulated? Opks don’t confirm, they just show that your body is gearing up to it. Also, if you did actually o, 7dpo is too early for testing.

If you're ovulating around CD17 or 18 and your cycles are only 24 days, you may have a luteal phase defect. You may want to talk to your OB. An LP that is too short may never allow your body to support a pregnancy as the lining sheds too early before implantation can occur.

maryhunter Thank you for intro'ing.  And yes, I'd definitely look into Luteal Phase Defect from what you've said.  Have you read Taking Charge of Your Fertility?  I know you said you tried temping and it didn't work for you, but maybe look into that book cause she may have suggestions to help you with temping. IT really does help to get to know what your body is doing, especially if you have struggles TTC.
