Sharing rooms or lose a guest room?

Hey everyone! We are expecting baby #3! We have 2 girls, ages (almost) 4 and 1.5. We have a 4 bedroom house and I’m debating about having kids share a room or lose the guest room. We never have overnight guests, but we do have a whole room of furniture we would have to get rid of. I don’t know... thoughts? I’m an only child so this is uncharted territory for me. Did you share a room as a kid? Did you like it?

  • Hi there.  Congratulations on your pregnancy :)  We try to avoid one off posts because the board gets really cluttered and no one can find anything.  We have a few threads where this type of question can be asked.  Introduce yourself in the Introduction thread so we can get to know you :)

For what it's worth, two of my boys share a room and wouldn't have it any other way!

@Brad&Jibby I have a 3 bdrm and i have my two boys sharing, 4 and 6 for the past two years since I wanted to keep my office/guest room. Now that we are having a third I have no choice.  I am also an only child but felt like too bad this is what it is. For the most part, 90% of the time they are okay with it and go to sleep no problems. The other 10% we just figure it out.

    Good Luck

@Brad&Jibby We have 5 kids... my boys (12 & 11) have shared a room since they were babies, and my girls (6, 5, & 3) share a room (double bunk beds). There are so many benefits to kids sharing rooms, like learning to sleep through noise, and close sibling relationships (all that late night chatting and giggling). I was an only child, and I love that my kids have the experience of having live-in friends. It hasn’t always been easy, but it’s worth it.
