Because there are many possible symptoms (diarrhea, vomiting, cramping, nausea) and because early labor can stall, I think the only way to know for sure is (1) your water breaks, or (2) you've progressed to active labor when the contactions are getting painful and regular.
Maybe? Or maybe just your body getting ready for the real thing...
If the pain is regular, and comes in like a gradual wave, meaning it kind of peaks and then gradually goes away- it’s a contraction. Just a constant cramp- not a contraction.
