@ABabyMarshall@creamcheeseplease@mvc003 I have a really hard time feeling excited during my pregnancies too, even though they have all been very wanted. Especially with subsequent pregnancies, when everything isn't as novel, I struggle to not feel guilty about my lack of excitement.
I remind myself a lot that it is okay to not have a glowing, happy pregnancy experience, and it doesn't mean I'll love my child any less. It just means that pregnancy is really hard! What's important is that you are taking care of yourself and making the best decisions for your baby. I think that especially when we are under the influence of so many hormones, our actions are what matter, not our feelings. I don't think my excitement during my pregnancies is what makes me a good mom; it's taking my prenatals, going to my appointments and eating (as) healthily (as possible).
@ABabyMarshall I used Diclegis, which is the prescription version of Unisom/B6 during my first pregnancy. I really helped with the nausea, but I spent the entire time I was taking it feeling drugged. The Unisom part of it made me so tired! I think all the anti-nausea medications have pretty annoying side effects, but I felt good about taking this one because it is really safe for the baby.
@emeraldcity1214 I just finished reading through that thread. It made me feel a lot better It was nice to see so many positive outcomes!
Est Due Date/ Weeks + Days/ Baby size: November 15/ 8+5/ gummy bear or raspberry
FTM/STM/STM+: FTM
Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding out: Finding out, just dont know if it will be via blood test or ultrasound. Hoping for a girl, because so far there are no girls in the family this generation. But if course we'll be happy either way.
Upcoming Appointments: Just had my 8 week one, so nothing for another month or so.
How are you feeling?:
Ugh. Hungry, moody, nothing excites me. I'm in that same boat of not being at all excited about being pregnant, and I cant shake the guilt about it.
Rants/Raves:
Our freaking mail lady hit our dog. Shes going to be fine, thank God, but it was an unexpected $475 vet bill at a time when I've had a lot of extra time off work just due to the nature of the industry I work in. I didn't like the mail lady before, and I like her even less now.
Questions: Nothing
GTKY: You are given $100 and have to spend it on yourself. What do you spend it on? A massage for sure.

Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding out: Green!
Upcoming Appointments: 4/29. Was going to do a NIPT, but then decided the cost:benefit ratio wasnt high enough.
How are you feeling? Bloated! I was wearing size 12 before and I just wore a size 14 yesterday had to use my hair tie for the button already. That and the really bad acne are my two biggest issues.
Rants/Raves: we told my husband's family this weekend and the first thing his dad did was text his sister. Didnt ask, didnt see if we wanted to tell her ourselves. I know she tends to feel left out of family things because she lives further away, but maybe we wanted to tell her.
Questions:
GTKY: You are given $100 and have to spend it on yourself. What do you spend it on? Probably on virtual races. I love my running club and the charities they do, but it can get expensive during the year.
@christalfung@emeraldcity1214 I'm not sure, we're not going to pursue it simply because we should have kept her contained and she got out. Our bigger concern is just how damn fast was she driving to manage to hit the dog, because we live in a residential neighborhood and our street is really straight and open, so there is no reason she should not have been able to stop in plenty of time if she was doing the speed limit. We just can't help but think what if it was someones kid?

Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding out: we are doing some screening bloodwork on 4/19 and we will get the gender with those results, but we will probably wait to do a gender reveal in mid-May
Upcoming Appointments: I just had my first visit with my OB today (I've been going to my fertility clinic for weekly checks and ultrasounds since my IVF FET) and my next visit is 4/19 for another ultrasound and the screening bloodwork. After that, my next appointment is 5/7 (just before I am 13 weeks) to check up and hear the heartbeat.
How are you feeling?: okay, some cramping my doctor thinks is ligament stretching and constipation because I'm still on progesterone in oil injections. I have almost constant minor nausea.
Rants/Raves: My mother can be such a Negative Nancy. I know she is happy about my pregnancy, but there's always a negative side to everything she says. I told her we didnt want to find out the gender until we did a small gender reveal BBQ in May - nothing huge or over the top, just family and a couple of close friends. She immediately began groaning like we were such an imposition and it was such a stupid idea. I could understand if she'd gone to a bunch of these or the novelty had worn thin, but she's never gone to one, nor has she ever even been invited to one! She has absolutely no friends or even friends with children to invite her to such a thing. So I told her she didnt have to come if it was going to put her out so much. It's it's draining. She has always been like this and she is one of the main causes of my terrible anxiety I have to deal with every single day of my life.
Questions: I have to have a hospital birth because of my medical history, but I am considering looking into a doula (I love my husband but he's not the most supportive in those stressful situations and he refuses to take any classes unless forced and I would rather not fight about it). For those of you who have used a doula, when did you start looking and was it worth it?
GTKY: You are given $100 and have to spend it on yourself. What do you spend it on?
Probably something selfish. I don't spend a lot of money on myself, so it'll be nice to do that for once. Maybe get a mani/pedi and use the leftover to buy whatever I happen to be craving 😉
@emeraldcity1214 I used to say that! We have both a boy and girl and my husband has always wanted to not find out. I agreed and now really excited about it!
@alwayseloquent I used a doula last time and have zero regrets! My SIL is one and I used her, so I cant really give advice on finding one. But to be completely honest, she was way more helpful and intuitive to knowing how I needed help when labor got serious at the end than my husband was. Also my husband had to leave to go let our dogs out after we'd been at the hospital for so long and I wasn't really progressing fast anyways. So it was nice to have her there in his absence. I plan to have her again for this birth!

Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding out: We are finding out for the first time. Our first two girls were surprises but my husband doesn't want to be 'surprised' in the delivery room if it is our 3rd girl. Obviously, healthy matters most but I am crossing fingers for a boy since I am planning on this being my last.
Upcoming Appointments: I have the testing ultrasound on 4/29 and 5/1 for my normal OB appt .
How are you feeling?: Feeling okay - last friday we had an ultrasound to confirm heartbeat and dating and everything was normal. SO that is great - my symptoms have alleviated some. Still some food aversion and fatigue but very lucky not to be feeling as gross as I was for the last 3 weeks.
Rants/Raves: Social Media and my children. I have had family members post pictures (like not just 1 cute one but like 100 candids) I am trying to figure out how nicely to put that photos of my kids shouldn't be going online. It is one thing to post 1 or 2 family pictures but more than that and I really think a parent of the kid should be consulted to ask if it is okay, because the internet is forever...anyways....rant over.
Questions: none
GTKY: You are given $100 and have to spend it on yourself. What do you spend it on? Chipotle and a bag of sour patch kids because someone mentioned them and now I need them in my life. Food cravings are real.

how are you feeling?: I’ve been really lucky so far and generally have felt ok. Really tired by the time evening rolls around. Sore boobs since the beginning. Some constipation and aches/pains but luckily very little nausea
rants/raves: today my company had layoffs. I’m fine but one of the women let go was 6 months pregnant. We’re close and she’s really upset. It’s making me really upset too.
GTKY $100 to spend on myself: My regular clothes still fit but are uncomfortable and I just feel fat. Would love to buy a maternity outfit I can feel good in!

@klstone25 I just got Seabands yesterday and wore them all day. I think they did help, the nausea wasn't quite as bad as normal, but I need to give them a couple more days to see for sure. My nausea sometimes has better days than others on its own.
