Re: TTCAL w/o 4/8

  • @shamrocandroll I'm so excited for you and your new puppy!! I am a pet parent and my dog is my baby and I love him to pieces. Also I commend you on your commitment to exercising even in the rain. That's awesome. I avoid walking in the rain mostly because my dog doesn't like getting wet but I can't say I would like it either.

    Introduce yourself and anything you think is important: 2 losses, 1 MMC @ 8wkd 8/2018 and 1 MMC/D&C @ 9wks 2/2019

    Status: WFAF, benched

How are things going? What is something that you are struggling with this week? What is going well for you this week? R/R? Been MIA the last couple of weeks due to being overwhelmed with school and work and family. My aunt just passed away from breast cancer. Flying to Dallas for her services this weekend. Aside from that I've been doing pretty good. Told my staff about the miscarriages and they were great. Learned that another post doc had a miscarriage at the same time I did last summer. We were due 4 days apart. We bonded over our multiple losses. Its nice to talk about it openly and make people feel comfortable talking about it as well.

Any testing coming up/any recent results? Will get blood drawn for genetic testing this week for me and my DH.

GTKY: What is your favorite outdoor activity? I love to walk my dog every morning. It's a great start to the day. I also like hiking but haven't had much time for that.

  • @maserrano714 Sorry to hear about your Aunt, but glad you're otherwise in a good place, and esp. glad that you talked to your staff about your mcs--while I know talking about them isn't for everyone, I am really striving to be open about it bc of how less lonely it can make us feel to know other people who have gone through it. I am glad you have that other post doc to bond with, and I am so glad that your opening up about it helped her to feel comfortable doing the same.

@shamrocandroll So excited for your puppy!!!! And I like the name choice! Winnie reminds me of one of my fave movies, too... HOCUS POCUS! (I really love so many movies from my childhood.) I am glad you found someone to do exercise stuff with. I "prefer to work alone" in most situations, which I think I exude haha, but it reallllly would be nice to have someone like that, so I am glad you have someone.

Any testing coming up/any recent results? Testing tomorrow.

How are things going? What is something that you are struggling with this week? What is going well for you this week? R/R? At the same time I'd be super-excited/terrified with a positive result tomorrow, I'd be okay w/ a negative bc of all the good stuff we're doing to make the right choices for what may come. On the flip side, more and more bills keep arriving from my pg/procedure. Five now. And the top thing on my to do list is to take deep m-f'n breaths and call all these places and set up payment plans bc until the big project MH is on is over & he gets paid, we are super broke.

GTKY: What is your favorite outdoor activity? I really like just... sitting outside in the sun soaking it up, whether I'm at a party or on the beach, or sitting in my backyard with friends or alone w/ the doggies. That's not really an "activity" haha. I like when we take the boat to the beautiful lake near our house, but I only really enjoy when we take friends who've never seen how insanely beautiful it is? I less like when it's just us most of the time, but sometimes that's really nice, like, esp. when the world is being sucky. But that (sitting on a boat) *also* isn't much of an activity lol...

    shamrocandrollkels0091
  • @shamrocandroll YAY PUPPY!! I love her name, it sounds perfect!

@maserrano714 I am so sorry about your aunt.

@kagesstarshroom good luck with testing tomorrow.  I am rooting for you!

Introduce yourself and anything you think is important: number of loss(es), when you had the loss(es), diagnosis/conditions surrounding loss, etc.:  loss in December at 5 weeks, one day

Status: WTO (it's only CD11 and I had a + or almost + OPK this morning so maybe I will O before CD20 this time!)

How are things going? What is something that you are struggling with this week? What is going well for you this week? R/R?Today I am doing well, which is a big improvement from last week. DH and I have spring break next week, which will be nice.  I am trying not to get my hopes up this cycle, but it's really hard.

    TW

I have to go to a baby shower on Saturday and I am really nervous about it. DH's aunts/uncles/cousins are a huge anxiety trigger for me, so I am just hoping I can keep it together.  But I have no problem clapping back if I get rude questions about whether or not DH and I are ever having babies.

Any testing coming up/any recent results? Nope

GTKY: What is your favorite outdoor activity? Hahahahaaaa. I am NOT outdoorsy. At all. I generally stay out of the sun because I burn so quickly even with sunscreen.  I do enjoy taking my dog for a walk in the late afternoon, though. Someone on our walking route has a lilac bush and it smells soooo good walking by.

    kagesstarshroomkels0091
  • @shamrocandroll I am so excited for all the puppy pictures! Two weeks feels so far away. You're in the puppy TWW! I love the name Winnie and I'm jealous of all the puppy cuddles you're about to get.

@maserrano714 I'm so sorry about your aunt. Cancer is terrible. Sending hugs your way. <3

@kagesstarshroom Ugh, so sorry you're dealing with all the post-loss bills. I get that the hospital needs to be paid, but it feels like such a slap in the face.  <3

Introduce yourself and anything you think is important: number of loss(es), when you had the loss(es), diagnosis/conditions surrounding loss, etc.: 5 losses. 3 MMC's and 2 CP's.

    Status. WTO

How are things going? What is something that you are struggling with this week? What is going well for you this week? R/R? I didn't expect the IUI to be successful, but I'm still bummed that it wasn't. I'm realizing that our journey really is almost over. I'm not sure how I feel about that, but honestly, part of me will be relieved not to have to think about this all the time. It has just really worn me down.

Any testing coming up/any recent results? US tomorrow I believe to confirm corpus luteum is gone. Nothing exciting.

GTKY: What is your favorite outdoor activity? Camping - but more specifically, being outside with a good book while camping. I can read outside for hours and it's a major bummer in my life that I don't have a hammock. I need a hammock!

  • Notice, rant ahead! I just wanted to "add" to my above grievance about my bill & say I've added up all my bills--that from my obgyn & the surgery--and the total is $3198.53, after insurance. I do *NOT* regret my decision for the d&c bc I refuse to feel bad for making the right choice/letting MH make this choice for me bc I was just sort of numb when being asked to decide, but...damn. Rant continued in spoiler for anyone who feels like continuing to listen to me bitch.

Ugh. I'm like shaking, but I *had* to do the math. So far, I've called two of the 6 (there are 6 bills -_- not 5) and no one answered. The third in my stack lets you set up a payment plan via their website (which I still hope they let me do considering the whole bill [this is the most expensive one] was due ~2 weeks ago. They don't like the hyphen in my last name though, which pisses me off. Like, what if I changed out one character in YOUR last name, surgical hospital, how would YOU feel?) Anyway, thoughts and prayers, lol, are appreciated bc... what else.

  • @ruby696 A hammock sounds devine.

    @emeraldduchess fx you o soon!

@maserrano714 I’m so sorry about your aunt. I’m glad you were able to find someone to talk to your losses about.

@kagesstarshroom I’m sorry you’re still having to deal with the bills. I hope they are able to give you a little grace and set up some kind of plan with you. Fx for tomorrow!

Any testing coming up/any recent results? Still waiting on dh’s SA.

GTKY: What is your favorite outdoor activity? Hiking and camping. Put those two together and I’ll be good. I just love being in the woods. It refreshes my soul.

@maserrano714 I'm so sorry about your aunt, but I am glad you found someone to talk to about your losses
@kagesstarshroom good luck with testing tomorrow!! I'm sorry about the medical bills - those will be rolling in for me shortly as well :( they should allow you to do plans for all of the bills though. Hopefully you connect with someone who can help.
@emeraldduchess enjoy spring break - I hope no clapbacks are needed for that family event...
@kbrown2385 wahhh I'm sorry you're still waiting on the SA results... they should def be done though bc they test when the sperm are still swimming...

  • @maserrano714 I'm so sorry about your aunt!  I'm hoping the new puppy will also motivate me to get out walking every morning.  I can't wait for it to actually be light out that early!

@kagesstarshroom Those post-loss bills are the absolute worst.  I'm so sorry!  Also, I totally counted boating as an outdoor activity!  And I agree it's much more fun with people than by ourselves!

@emeraldduchess +1 for burning easily, but I've gotten really good at just applying sunscreen constantly, plus staying in the shade whenever possible!  Plus they have the really cute rashguard shirts now that make being in the sun more doable.

@ruby696 I'm so sorry the IUI didn't work out and that you're nearing some difficult decisions.  I hope you find as much peace as possible in whatever decision you make.  Also, you're all going to get completely spammed with puppy pictures!  Technically I'm in the three week wait for the puppy... we pick her this weekend, then bring her home 2 weeks after that.  Going to be SO HARD!!!

@kbrown2385 Ooh, I forgot camping!  I love that too!  I've been doing it since I could walk, pretty much.

@chichiphin I hope you get your results back soon!!!

@kagesstarshroom I’m so sorry to hear about those bills for something so heartbreaking. That is so terrible. I hope this doesn’t sound ignorant but I just cannot understand why the charges in the US are so outrageous compared to Canada. Just doesn’t make any sense.
    @ruby696 I’m sorry the IUI didn’t work :(
@emeraldduchess congrats on the + !!!! And hopefully the shower goes as good as can be expected.
@maserrano714 I’m sorry to hear about your aunt. F cancer. And happy to hear you were able to talk to your co workers about your losses and have them be comforting to talk too.
@shamrocandroll puppy!!! Yay! And I love the name. I love a good word play as well. We did my dogs initials so we can shit talk them without them thinking we are talking to them and getting excepted. So JAM and PAM have no clue 😂

How are things going? What is something that you are struggling with this week? What is going well for you this week? R/R? I have ovarian drilling and a blue dye test done with my tubes today. I’m in more pain then I expected, but I’ll survive. I have to work tomorrow and am dreading that but ah well. My drs receptionist is a very annoying person to deal with, I called to make a follow up appointment and left a voicemail and of course she hasn’t returned the call.

Any testing coming up/any recent results? Assuming I get a drs appointment, I’ll get the results from the 11 vials of blood they took last time.

GTKY: What is your favorite outdoor activity? Drinking on patios lol. Or kayaking to this little island that has a pub on it. The food isn’t that good but the drinks are great, especially after kayaking a little under an hour to get to it.

    keikiloveshamrocandrollc1kc1kpol1cn1k
  • @kels0091 I'm sorry you're in pain and I hope you feel better tomorrow, especially if you have to work. Also, drinking outside is the best. I need to amend my answer to include reading in a hammock while camping, with a drink in my hand.
    kels0091
  • @kels0091 That doesn't sound ignorant at all--I agree. The ACA (the govt's Affordable Care Act) has only gotten worse recently, and that's the only way I can *have* health care right now as a grad student w/ a self-employed spouse. Apparently 45 dismantled the ACA for 2020? I haven't done more research into that since I heard it on the news bc... I just don't even want to think about what my bills are gonna look like if we conceive and I have to give birth next year, sans healthcare. I deleted part of my rant where I bitched about our healthcare system, haha, so it actually makes me glad you mention how f'd up it is here. And, as I said and will say again, getting worse... / Kayaking to an island for drinks sounds awesome. Also, I hope you get those results soon and that the pain subsides.
    kels0091keikiloveshamrocandroll
  • @kels0091 I am so sorry you're feeling more pain than you expected. Is there anything you can take or do to help it?
@kbrown2385 hope you get your results back soon.  I hear you on the ss. Last cycle I had allll the crazy "symptoms" even though I was determined not to get my hopes up.
@ruby696 I feel the same way about reading outside! I wish I had a hammock but we have nowhere to put it.  Plus our property is bordered by woods so...mosquitos.

I realized I keep bringing up this shower and I just need to chill. I think I am worked up because it's the first baby shower I have had to go to since our loss and except for my MIL, DH's family has no idea.

@emeraldduchess We don't have anywhere to put a hammock either. Such a bummer.

I really hope the shower ends up being NBD. But if people do give you a hard time, feel free to be as salty as you need to be. I'll be thinking of you this weekend. <3
  • @kels0091 you can have all the cereal and coke you want but can we get sweet chili and sour cream chips please??
    kels0091
  • @kagesstarshroom It breaks my heart to see you struggling with this!

@kels0091 An island with a pub on it sounds like heaven!  I live on a lake, and love to kayak and boat, but we have no island pubs.  I'm sorry you're in pain, and hope you get good results back!  Also, I had no idea what a Nanaimo bar was, so I Googled it and I think I've had them before.  Sign me up to move to Canada!  I'm only 3ish hours from it now, so it can't be THAT much colder, right?

Status: WTO- CD 11; supposed to start progesterone 3 days after ovulation

How are things going? What is something that you are struggling with this week? What is going well for you this week? R/R?

    - I guess ok. I never had a true ovulation last cycle; thinking the cyst was a trapped egg when I had SIS on CD8. It also ended up being a shorter cycle (22) for me, which is not common (for me). Good news is, I guess I didn't have to decide about waiting last cycle. I have been taking the Ovaboost for almost two weeks now. I will start the progesterone this month. I am feeling stressed and burned out at work. I had so much personal turmoil this school year that I feel like I am not happy with my work attitude. I used to be on tons of committees and very involved in extra-curriculars; I had to start saying no to worry about myself. I have a very guilty conscious over that.

Any testing coming up/any recent results?   just keep at the OPKs & BBT

GTKY: What is your favorite outdoor activity?   I used to love to run! Now, I walk...  I love love love going to baseball games. In fact, we had our first nice weekend this past weekend & BF and I went to a Cleveland Indians game.

@kagesstarshroom I am sorry to hear that these bills are still coming in. I had a payment plan set up also after my D & C; then the 2nd pregnancy & MMC happened. Now with seeing the RE, my payment plan is no longer working because the bills keep coming. frustrating to say the least. I am actually looking into a part time job teaching online.

give me a second to start another reply....the tags are not working.

@maserrano714 I am sorry to hear about your aunt. Hope you get some positive answers with genetic testing.

@emeraldduchess Looks like are cycles are very close! I have my eye on you ;)

@ruby696 I don't think I have ever been in a hammock! But- I also could sit in the sunshine & read for hours.
    shamrocandroll
  • @omg1108 I can't believe you have never been in a hammock! I have done... many things... in a hammock. I'm sorry that the bills piling on is frustrating for you =/ I'm glad you're still working with the RE though bc I would hate to see money have to be a preventative issue--it's always going to be an issue for some of us, but I hope not one that stands in the way of getting the best quality care for ourselves.

@kels0091 Maybe once global warming makes Canada warmer, I will join yall up there. Also, there IS hope for our health care system, I hope...

Hey all-- TTCAL question! One of the bills I was looking at yesterday said there was a tissue sample of something from my d&c sent to a pathologist for an exam--so I called them and asked what was examined and what the results were, and they circled me back to ask my ob bc no one ever told me any tissue sample was going to be examined and plus I never got the results? I just need... reassurance that it's full within my rights and not crazyperson business to call my ob's office and ask what they examined and what the results were.
    shamrocandrollkels0091dpchickenslena8888
  • @kagesstarshroom it’s absolutely within your rights to ask about what was tested and what the results were. It was probably “products of conception” (I hate that term) to see if there was anything genetically wrong.
    kagesstarshroom
  • @kagesstarshroom they didn't explain to you that they would be testing a tissue sample? That seems strange to me that they wouldn't at least inform you of that.
    kagesstarshroomdpchickens
  • @kagesstarshroom - you have the right to know what results are being tested upon your tissue if the tissue is identifiable to you - which it sounds like as you are being billed for it. What is the procedure code? If it is 5 digits and starts with 88, it is POC testing for genetic abnormalities. If you did not want this to happen, they should not be running the test and charging you for it, as it is 1250+ before insurance.

How are things going? What is something that you are struggling with this week? What is going well for you this week? R/R?  I am in this weird mindset where I am over analyzing everything about my losses.  Rational side of me realizes it was probably nothing I did that caused my losses, but I still think a lot about "what ifs."  What if I eat this, or take this supplement, or or make this lifestyle change.  Like I have some control over something I really have no control over.  I know if this cycle is a bust, I am calling an RE.  It's time.  Because I am driving myself crazy.

Any testing coming up/any recent results? None.  Calling an RE if BFN this cycle.

GTKY: What is your favorite outdoor activity?  I love swimming.

@kerco925 See my post right below yours. I know exactly how you feel, and I'm so sorry for your losses and the agony that goes with that whole nightmare. After my first loss I was like a dog with a bone, trying to shake it loose but never letting myself let go of it fully and....Just. Needing. Answers.  I hope what I posted may be helpful to you in some way, I'm not sure if you've looked into any of those things... So many hugs to you, my friend.
