We found out we were pregnant at 21 weeks! Had a battering of appointments to get caught up. The first doctor we saw was concerned about my cervical length being shorter than normal, which put us at risk for preterm labor. We had some emotional and frustrating appointments. That same doctor recommended we go into the hospital to get a two part hormone injection to help the baby's lungs develop faster as a precaution. When we got to the hospital for the shot the on call doctor said we didn't need it. He then continued to scare us by telling us the baby could come later that week or in two months but still didn't recommend the shot. We opted to go back the next day to see the first doctor again who immediately gave me the injection. We will hit 35 weeks on Friday and thankfully she's still tucked away safely.
Long story short - often group practices will have you see multiple doctors with opposing opinions. It's important to insist on seeing one doctor you're comfortable with that is familiar with your history. Also, as difficult as it is, try not to worry yourselves to death. Everything will happen in its own time. Deep breaths and a supportive partner will get you through it.
Good luck ladies!
