Re: TTGP Grad Check-in w/o 3/21
How far along are you? 12 weeks, 2 days.
Anyone have an appointment this week? YES! TOMORROW! It's been five weeks since we've seen our little peanut, and I'm so excited. But also terrified because tomorrow is our NT scan and we are still waiting on our NIPT results so I'm basically going to hold my breath for the next 24 hours.
Cravings/Symptoms? The new one is Lucky Charms, which is great because it's high in nutritional value. (Facepalm.)
Rants/Raves/Randoms? I have a callback for a commercial audition today and I do not fit into the pants I wore at casting anymore. I think I'll be able to button them for the ten minutes I need to, but as long as things go well with the doctor tomorrow I'm going to have to start telling people that are not my family.
Questions? Does this pregnancy seem real to anyone? Maybe it's because I was active on TTGP and charting my body like a mad scientist, but a lot of the time I still don't think this is really happening. I was watching a TV show the other day and a character was pregnant. My first thought was, "I wish that I were pregnant. Oh, wait. I...am?" Now that my belly is rounding it feels more real, but I'm wondering how everyone else is feeling. This could also be a FTM thing.
GTKY: what is your go-to dessert recipe? I make these oatmeal and blackberry cookies that are so easy, and everyone loves them! Then I have a classic sugar cookie recipe for holidays. Good question! Should we start up that baking/crafting thread?
What's going on this week? Baby is now a fetus!
How far along are you? 9+1
Anyone have an appointment this week? Tomorrow and I'm so anxious. It's been over a week since we saw everything was all good in there and now I have no idea when I'll get reassurance again (doubtful I'll get an US tomorrow).
Cravings/Symptoms? Still no concrete cravings. Just oh that was good, I need more (pringles SC&O) and still being impressionable from others choices.
Rants/Raves/Randoms? Housing market is creeping back up! I'm really hoping something pans out quick. I think I would rather move while preg then with a newborn... My doppler came in yesterday but I was too scared to try it. I'm going to drive myself insane trying to make a decision on when to take the chance...
Questions?
GTKY: what is your go-to dessert recipe? Cupcakes are always good but I also really like oreo triffle. Or strawberry triffle.
Why do we keep torturing ourselves with food related GTKYs?!
@prpl11butterfly GL at your appointment too! I feel ya on the doppler, I try not to get stressed out when I can't hear the heartbeat. If you are anxious, I would maybe wait one more week. Trifle sounds yummy too, haven't had some in sooo long.
What's going on this week? Baby is the size of a brussels sprouts.
How far along are you? 10+3
Anyone have an appointment this week? Nope, 12 more days (NT & NIPT on 4/02 and 12 week OB on 4/03)
Cravings/Symptoms? Tortillas and this yummy spicy crema sauce I like to make. Also, bought carrot cake donettes that are DELICIOUS!!
Rants/Raves/Randoms? For my NT/NIPT, I have to be referred to another doctor office (for insurance reasons which is weird but whatevs) and I wish they would let me take my NIPT early. Obviously, it's more convenient when I could in and do both rather than come in twice.
Questions? Anyone doing a sex reveal? With my DS, DH and I went to an boutique ultrasound place that guarantees gender at 14 weeks and found out. We then bought a boy outfit, "wrapped it" in a bag and had different family members open it to tell them the sex. This time, I kind of want to maybe do a confetti cannon (organized by my SIL who offered) and have my little sister photograph the reveal. Nothing big but something we can do as a family and get DS involved and excited for his sibling.
GTKY: what is your go-to dessert recipe? I make a delicious pumpkin bread muffin/cupcake with cream cheese frosting.

@prpl11butterfly, oreo trifle and strawberry trifle both sound amazing! Do you have recipes? And LOL sorry for always torturing us with food questions. I am terrible of thinking of good things, and food is always on my mind 😂
@stephanie123456, I'm still food impressionable, and your post made me NEED Mexican food. Maybe I can convince H to get carry out from our favorite taco place for dinner!
What's going on this week?
Baby is the size of a cream puff. Annnnnd now I want to eat a cream puff.

Anyone have an appointment this week?
Nope, next week for me
Cravings/Symptoms?
Craving Mexican food now! Last night I HAD to have a brat and baked beans, and it was so delicious. Can't wait to heat up the leftovers for lunch.
Rants/Raves/Randoms?
Rant - none of my pants fit comfortably anymore 😐
Rave - our sweet little girl is low risk for genetic abnormalities. ❤❤❤
Questions?
Nah
GTKY: what is your go-to dessert recipe?
I have a really good brown butter pecan cookie recipe. So yummy! I also make cake mix cookies when I'm feeling lazy but need to bake. Lemon cake mix cookies are great for Easter!
Option A: give each person a colorful plastic Easter egg filled with candy. Let them know it will be blue candy inside if we are having a boy and pink if we are having a girl, and then let them have fun cracking their eggs and eating candy.
Option B: this scratch off card from Etsy.
The scratch off works better for H's out of town family, although I guess we could mail them plastic Easter eggs filled with candy too. I selfishly kind of like option B because we can see what everyone would guess with which circle they scratch off first 😂 Plus it leaves a keepsake for the baby book. But my H also has a really good point: candy, though.

Anyone have an appointment this week?
Nope. Not until April 1.
Cravings/Symptoms?
I'm on the craving cereal train as well. Though I think it's more like "I'm starving, what can I shove in my face in 2 min." Also, my sense of smell is pretty ridiculous.
Rants/Raves/Randoms?
Rant - I know everything is fine, BUT in the back of my head--after I told both sides of our family last weekend--I've just had this nagging feeling like "What if I'm not really pregnant anymore or something has happened since my last appt., and now I will have to tell all these people that it's actually NOT happening." DH was all ready to tell his office and I was like STOPPPP!!! I hope this feeling goes away after 12 weeks. I was so positive with my first two because I hadn't experienced loss yet.

GTKY: what is your go-to dessert recipe?
I am not really a make-it-from-scratch type (like at all). But I do make a mean chocolate chip banana bread. (Does it count if it's sort of a breakfast dessert?) I make them for house warming gifts, teacher appreciation gifts, holidays, etc.

@nnaelilak we are currently in a 3 bed but now will need a 4. We are having difficulty finding a good option that's actually in our price range (and have been looking for almost a year!). We are also not listing until we find something we see potential in.
